I had the exact same issue. The instructions say "When the blue & red LEDs are momentarily lit, release the programming button." This part is critically important. You'll notice that around the 0:11 mark in this video our friend continues holding the button PAST the point where the blue & red LEDs are lit. He then releases the button while the LEDs are just blue. This is incorrect and this is why he was having difficulties. You must release the button exactly when the red & blue LEDs are lit, not before, not after. You'll know you got it right if both the blue and red LEDs stay lit. If you missed it just unplug the big plug and try again. Hopefully this helps anyone who might find themselves here in the future.
Hello. So the instructions for a 2022 corolla it does say press button, Plug black plug, wait for solid blue light, release button, push ignition button twice ( push to start vehicle ) , and finally when blue light flashes push ignition button once more. I did mine this way and works awesome. Issue that Im having is i want to add on cell phone module ( MY Car Link, Linkrlt-2, ect. ) To add it on I have plug cell phone module in Startx module via cable harness, Then unplug black multicolor from Startx module , Then proceed with programming but for what ever reason i followed programming the same exact way as when I programmed with blue lights and its not connecting to cell phone module. Had to stop due to weather outside but Now im getting to thinking if after connecting cell phone module to Startx I may need to program it with the Red and Blue lights as you stated. Im a bite kicked on this one.......
@@PoliceExplorer121sounds like there are different instructions for different vehicles and years. My instructions said blue & red. Either way it’s critical that the button be released exactly at the correct moment, if the instructions say blue then release exactly when it’s lit blue.
