Triston is the definition of a workhorse. He is a non-stop hard worker and he is down right valuable because of it. He has one of the biggest collections of daily used tools I have seen. You can tell he uses his tools every day, and is not afraid to abuse them when the time calls for it. Triston single handedly gets the work done in this shop, and there isn’t a complaint from him in sight. Thank you so much for letting me come out, Triston! If you enjoyed his tour, give this video a Like!

The best part about this is the know-how of the owners of the tools. And in the case of this guy, there is simply no fooling or fiddling about, he is prepared for whatever comes his way. Brings a tear to the eye. Thanks for filming these.

@@ToolBoxTour You’re right. So many of these guys showing off their tools are nothing but poser’s. Their toolbox and tools have never been used. As any experienced mechanic can assess at first glance! Believe me we’re not fooled, used tools look used.

@@lbahr11 One thing you might not be accounting for is a lot of those posers are the reason half your specialty and newer gen tools exist. The amount of money tool companies spend on R&D is insane and they wouldn't do it if the market for them was small.

Only advice take it slow. Too too many people get way in over their head with tool trucks. Listen I don’t hate tools trucks. How ever it’s VERY easier to rack up 2-3k in debt and the weekly payment gets “awesome” a good mix of brands it’s the best bang for your buck. But general stuff Taiwan and the stuff you know will Be used and abuse then sure be safe but yes but snap on or mac

After watching several of Tool Box Tours I have noticed there is a huge difference between how a mechanic stores their tools compared to electricians. Give an electrician 3 task special screw drivers for a project next week and the next week they will have a broken one in hand, one in their junk drawer at home, and the other one in their lunch box.

I’ve got that same Astro 1894 half inch. I find that sometimes the direction switch does get bound up, but usually what I do is brake clean it out then drip a bunch of air tool oil on the switch and it works good. Almost like something bound up in it. I do think that’s the most delicate part and I’ve heard about it getting bent with just a little abuse and really not wanting to switch. Other issue, if you run it with the silencer in, eventually it’ll pull the threads out of the plate on the bottom of the handle cause it moves so much air, mine also rattled the screws that hold the rear cover on out. I put them back with red locktite and they haven’t come out since. All in all, big fan, I believe it’s the most powerful gun in the shop. Kicks the snot out of the Milwaukee high torques everyone else uses. (And I’m not anti-Milwaukee, all my other powered tools are Milwaukee)

I'm 27 now my dad is a general contractor growing up we had excavators loaders skid steers dump trucks farm tractors you name it and it was my job to maintain and repair them I don't remember exactly how old I was when I actually started working on them probably 11-12 my mom has a picture on the wall of me and my dad when I was 2 years old with my dad's legs hanging out from under a dump truck fuel tank and you could just barely see my feet sticking out I've since gone to trade school and I went into heavy duty equipment and truck repair everything from little stump grinders up to earth moving dump trucks and on site excavators that have to be repaired on site because moving them requires the boom house and track frame to be separated then reassembled for hauling it's too cost prohibitive to move them no matter what the failure but I was getting a flywheel ground at the Kenworth dealership about 6 years ago and I had gotten to be friends with a mechanic there and we were shooting the breeze while he ground my flywheel and he was an older guy in his 50s and I asked him if it was a good idea to make it a life long career he said verbatim "boy look around this shop . do you see any other old men in here ? he said they're all retired early because they got back injuries shoulder injuries etc. get out while you're young " I made a hell of a lot of money doing it and had a lot of fun experiences traveled all over the country and about 4 years ago I said enough is enough already have back problems I feel 14 feet off of an excavator straight knees first into gravel they swelled up the size of cantelopes and I have a high tolerance for pain but I just laid face down in the gravel for 15 minutes it was so bad I couldn't even move I was by myself on site so eventually I rolled myself over and drug myself up against the track frame and started to see how bad it was blood from my knees to my waist and running into my boots I laid there for about an hour finally checked myself out nothing was broken that I could tell other than one knee cap I got up I walked to my truck and I got in and drove home the next day I took my friend got all the tools I had left there and decided never again I now still am a mechanic but I run a powersports shop working on atvs and UTVs and I wouldn't even consider going back I make even more money (this makes no sense but its true) people will pay more to have their toys fixed than they will to have a piece of equipment repaired its cometely backwarda toys cost them money and equipment makes them money but theyll pay $200 an hour just so they can go ride again the followijg weekend get out while you can man quit hang it up and find another mechanic job that wont drive you to an early retirement

Tough pill to swallow, but it’s the wrench set to last your entire lifetime even if you use them every day. Thanks for watching!

Get more heavy equipment. Train mechanics large crane and ship mechanics. Say an engine for cargo ships earlier that was like 18’ long.
