Looks like MandJTV posted a similar video. I posted this video two days before him, just hours after the announcement. Friends, everyone is guessing the Pokemon that fit French inspiration could be likely starters in a French inspired game. No one is copying anyone. Theres literally only a handful of options as possibilities lol.
do did @hoopsandhiphop his vid was also really good and had really similar results, with serperior and empoleon, and him saing cinderace is the most likely fire starter
The ‘Kalosian’ Cinderace could also be focused on tennis instead of soccer since tennis originated in France! But yeah, these seem like the best options for starters
If that's the case! Would be cool if they give it a Fire Type Eccoed Voice... The more you use it the stronger it gets! Like you're actually rapidly smashing a Tennis Ball
Meganium is probably the least viable starter of all time which is actually saying a lot considering Game Freak has tried really hard to make all starters usable and warranted options in their respective regions. It’s not by much, but I can’t think of a more mid starter overall
Hot take: there's gonna be 3 regional variant starters without megas, and then the Kalos starters will be available in the wild and have megas. It's basically a reverse of how they did it in X and Y, the starter trio didn't get megas, the secondary trio did, and in this case, the original Kalos starters would be the secondary trio
@@GreedyGreedentwhy not? If it’s cause of Ash-Greninja then I’d say that bond was shown to be different than mega evolution in the anime and in recent years you can’t even get the form anymore only the stat boost. Kalos starters definitely deserve megas in their native land
You know what would be cool? If we get new regional form starters, and THEN in the same way you get the Kanto choices later in the game, you get the Kalos starters which all gain Mega evolutions?
I do also gotta vouch for Primarina here, someone else pointed out that Popplio is the only fairy type starter and that it might be fitting since Kalos introduced the fairy type. Lumiose City also had a high focus on fashion
Primarina is my favourite Pokemon so I really hope that it's a starter in this game too. It could be based around circuses since sealions are popular circus animals and French circuses are very famous.
I feel like it could still happen since some have more than one mega evolution. And apparently the chicken / rooster is like the French bird or something
Can't wait for Legends ZA. PLA has been my favorite pokemon game since like gen 5. Gameplay was so fun and smooth I have wanted them to iterate on it for more mainline games
Torchic makes much more sense. Roosters are the national animal of France and Torchic was shown with Cyndaquil in the indigo disk trailer (Piplup was with Oshawott and Snivy was with Rowlett in that same trailer)
Doesn't matter, they will probably give all the starters a regional variant which means that even if base form Blaziken has a mega, a regional variant of Blaziken would not have access to that mega, if they want to give megas to the the regional forms exclusively they could and considering they already gave Charizard two megas in gen 6 it wouldn't surprise me if they did the same with Blaziken but instead of two megas for normal Blaziken they give a mega to normal Blaziken and another mega for regional Blaziken. Or they could just go with the regional variants and not give them megas, regional Blaziken wouldn't be able to mega evolve as well as regional Empoleon or Serperior, I mean they already did the dirty to the Kalos starters in X and Y by not giving them megas so it's not impossible that they do the same here. Plus, I think the evidence of the Indigo Disk trailer showing all the starters from Legends Arceus with the three starters that thematically make more sense for Kalos is more than enough evidence to prove that piplup, snivy and torchic will be the starters of Legends Z-A, like come on they didn't put that on accident. @@RoboticTaco
@@tonisallerasquintana5905 I dunno, Legends Z-A's whole deal seem to be "The Megas are Back" While I can see not all Megas coming back, I kinda feel like the Starter Megas are a given? Specially since who knows when they will bring them back again So I might be wrong, but for now, I can't really see Mega Blaziken not being in Legends ZA
If doing a theme of based on French royalty, then yeah Piplup and Snivy would be for sure, maaaaybe Charmander as a nod to Charlemange? Or maybe Chimchar would also work/apply. The Gallic Rooster is also the unofficial symbol of France, so Torchic isn't a stretch either, but yeah we did get a Mega for it. I am very curious to see what they'll do starter wise. I would love Chikorita as an option as I feel its long overdue for some love.
The thing is, they don't have to pick any of the existing starters just because it's reminiscent of French royalty. In PLA they took Pokemon that had nothing to do with Japan and gave them regional variants with a Japanese theme. I'd much rather they did the same for this game so they could pretty much go with any of the starters and give them a crazy new and unexpected look.
the names of Hitokage, Rizaado, Rizaadon, Hikozazu, Moukazaru, and Goukazaru all have nothing to do with Charlemagne. their names in English don't count, this is a Japanese game.
The big rumor I have been seeing is the starters being Torchic, Piplup, and Snivy for a couple reasons. 1. In the DLC trailer for Gen 9, when showing off the starters, they paired up Torchic with Cyndaquil, Piplup with Oshawott, and Snivy with Rowlett which the latter of those pairs were the starters of Arceus. 2. Each of the final forms of the rumored starters have some ties to French culture Blaziken being a rooster and roosters are the national animal of France. Empoleon based on Napoleon Bonaparte And Serperior being somewhat based on European and French nobility.
Based on the Tweets before the last DLC for Scarlet and Violet, they showed images of Each of the Hisuian starters who we're joined by Snivy, Piplup and Torchic accordingly. Those are the starters for Z I'm calling it. As for Types, I could see Grass Dragon, Water Psychic, and Fire Fairy.
@@matthewcarreras1904And in the trailer we see the Tao Trio last. Everyone was literally like "Gen 5 remakes confirmed" just because of that little detail and it led nowhere
@@Nah_17In what way? Cause it’s the scariest out of the original gen 5 starters at least if it has contrary. It is one that is most likely to be able to sweep a team. For design wise I could see why u don’t like it but Emboar has a worse design honestly. Also the fact Emboar is a fire fighting type is just dumb. Like why is it not Fire and Ground when it’s a pig? Makes no sense.
But would Japanese people see it that way? From an outsider standpoint it feels like Japanese people love football more then the French Same for the Eifeltower … If you ever seen the TokyoTower tour, they claim the Japanese architect was the first who came up with form of the tower himself… So I wouldn’t count on it
@@LittleMaitea From an outsider standpoint, I had no idea Japanese people liked football. I mean, obviously some people do, but I thought that it's something similar to the US. I wouldn't consider France passionate about football either tbh, and I've been there during the world cup.
I think Froakie should be one of the starters, mostly because it has lore tied with the early years of Kalos (its battle bond phenomenon) I do agree with the fire and grass type tho
I think those three are just the lowest hanging fruit when it comes to picks. They’re so easily connected to French culture so everyone assumed them right off the bat.
Think about Pokemon who haven't seen the light of day in several years. The actual starters are Meganium, Emboar, and Primarina. Gen 2, gen 5, and gen 7, just like Legends Arceus, which did Typhlosion (gen 2), Samurott (gen 5), and Decidueye (gen 7). Also, gun to your head, name the last game where Meganium, Emboar, or Primarina were obtainable without needing to be transferred via Pokemon Home?
@@loudwhispre9406 imo it doesn’t matter. The reason the last three were chosen was due to their ties to industrial Japan. Same can be said for serperior and empoleon. They’re both so influenced by France in their design. That’s really all there is to it.
@@loudwhispre9406 The last game those three were obtainable in without needing to be transferred were Scarlet and Violet, the most recent games. Also, why would they use starters from the same three gens they already used? Maybe one of the starters will be from the same gen as a pla starter, most likely Serperior, but all three seems unlikely.
Tbh, I want new megas for Venusaur and Blastoise. Majority also likes these 2 as much as Charizard. Oh yeah, if they don’t give megas to the Kalos starters, I’m gonna file a murder case.
If there is no Meganium love in this game, I flip the table. Chikorita has has the short end of the stick since birth and it's high time it got some love.
Agreed also this would fit with the timeliness well bc this would be after the war so megas are considered new and alien AZ probably won't be in it from self isolation
That blaziken is absolutely filthy we need it such a badass take on an awesome pokemon and now it looks like instead of striking with speed it will simply strike quick and let the aftermath do the rest
a friend and I theorised that the starters would likely have ground, ice and steel as the second type to not make the game unbalanced, we also thought that piplup was a definite candidate
I heard nothing about this, REALLY happy to hear that mega evolution is FINALLY coming back, cause its the only battle gimmick I found actually interesting.
Since the game will most definetly be set in modern day after the events of xy i think there will be no regional variants and that the starters are the same
Tbh I will take Cinderace with open arms. He was my first fire starter. I always took the grass or water type starters and he gave me a smack in the face on how good fire types are.
They should give megas to the original gen 6 starters. They were the starters in the game that introduced mega evolutions, but the gen 1 starters took the spot light from them.
I feel like a big problem with all of the "Empoleon Napoleon" theory and stuff like that is that the new regional forms are going to give them an aspect that relates them to the region during the time period
