just now i watched yr video on STARTER OF TUBE LIGHT AND WORKING PRINCIPLE. This diagram i had seen on a plastic/paper poster pasted on the actual tube light frame when i purchased. I had not seen what was there inside a starter and i had some idea of its working principle too. Never i had this clear understanding until i saw this video. I have no adjectives in my vocabulary to describe how beautifully u have presented in this video with voltage/current curve and thermal graph of the bimetal switch. This is indeed an excellent video on tube lights. s.vatsa

सर आप के वीडियो और प्रेजेंटेशन बहुत ही अच्छे है। मैं भी शौकिया तौर पर स्टेपलिसेर, ups, cvt, tublight, इन्वर्टर, बैटरी चार्जर के साथ एक्सपेरिमेंट करता रहता हूँ। सर क्या निकोला टेस्ला जी के coil के माध्यम से वायरलेस तरीके से cfl बल्ब को जलाया जा सकता है ऐसा एक वीडियो मैंने देखा है ।

सर आप का वीडियो बढ़िया लगा सर कृपया ये बता दीजिए कि यदि चोक का स्टार्टिंग करेन्ट 1100 वोल्ट होता है यदि किसी आदमी को लग जाए तो क्या ये बहुत खतरनाक होगा धन्यवाद मुझे ये मालूम है कि बाद मे करेंट काम होकर 220 वोल्ट के पास हो जाता है मगर स्टार्टिंग करेन्ट तो हाइ वोल्ट होता है प्लीज एक्सप्लेन कर दीजिए

I think you missed the basic funda, the high voltage across the tube is generated by the inductance back emf of the choke and not by the capacitor.

Simple is that the capacitor is used for oscillation it works as tank circuit for a while to generate high voltage across the tube and when the electrons start following through the tube then the capacitor become open switch . In short we can say the function of a starter is increase the frequency 😊

Here, Voltage generated is in KV, much higher than applied voltage of 220 volts. Do you think that back EMF can be much more than applied EMF. So, this is voltage generated across capacitor due to contact breaking, as correctly told in the video.
