This car doesn't even compare to the newer Benz eggs that we see today. Completely underrated and low tech reliability. Classic, childhood, and nostalgia! 1990s and proud of it!😎
My dad took me to our local Benz dealer back in 1992 and bought a 230TE for our family. It died two years ago. Since a year though, it has become one of my cars and received a new gearbox, new differential, all liquids and smaller parts new, plus better brakes and suspension which has been lowered. Also using the 102 Octane fuel available here in Germany and together with a KN it runs a bit better.
that mercedes isnt a rusty car, it probably used to belong to a Mexican who like all other mexicans try to do theyre own auto body work and left it with rust color pimer since those mexicans can NEvE finish painting over auto body work they do LOL
@@armandoaraujo1178 German cars tend to run forever, the Diesels are like tanks. Mine's an e30, about 14 years older than yours and it has outlasted newer cars family have bought.
@@Spartan-sz8uh what he meant was probably that the diesel engines are more reliable and longer lasting than the petrol engines. anyone slightly competent can see that this is a gas engine right away anyways.
Those centra batteries are quite good. I saw theme coming in a Peugeot 208 from 2015 from factory as standard. I replaced only 2 of theme so far but they were all physicaly damaged from an impact.
In Indonesia, this station wagon variant is the highest level price among the series. Even in W123, W124, W202...etc. Even the coupe is much lower than this station wagon series.
В България караме такива автомобили от времето на Мерцедес 124. Баща ми кара Пасат 1.8 mi 1991 година . Няма никаква корозия.Здрав и опростен технически автомобил.
Hello. I would like to thank you for this wonderful effort that you are making to save old cars. In my opinion, it is considered a noble act. In fact, I was hoping to work with you. I am a Mercedes car enthusiast and I love it very much and I hope that you will succeed in your work. Good job, thank you
The 230e wagon has always been one of my favourites. Thankyou for saving it. I also saved a w123 after 15yrs stalled. Poor old Mercedes :( That is going to need a lot of tlc to make nice again, but if the corrosion hasn't ruined the underbody she will be worth the time and effort
Awesome W124 station wagon, I notice there is a light flashing, which means a security system, they told me if you need the code , to go through Benz Forum and they will gladly help.
mikael partti yes it is true that w124 prices have gone up in germany also. I bought my w124 6 years ago for 1300€ and today it's worth 3000€. That doesn't just count for the old Mercedes, that means for all cars in Germany. we Germans love cars, that's where the respect comes from
its a good wagon by merz ...! in 1990s we use this vehicle as mobile car , attend customers in case their car facing problem , ( all our repair tools and kid we kept it at the luggage area ) , and fail to run , ...! Now days i don see any wagon by merz , most is suv, sedan , and mpv.
Backfire can damage a rubber boot in a bottom of KE unit. Or throw away an idle hose. Also ECU seems not to be working, tacho is not working... maybe rusty fuses?
@@XPbIM3 possibly wiring is bad, my father's w124 has the same issues, engine is in perfect condition internally, gearbox is good, but all the wiring is just gone, rotten away. I wanted to take it and fix it at least up to "working and running okay" but it seems to be impossible already due to body rust and countless other problems. Maybe engine+gearbox could be swapped elsewhere...
