I had meant to mention that actually! It completely slipped my mind once I got started, but yeah, he totally belongs in a carnival warband, or at the very least involved in some sort of scenario with them.
I got an FDM printer for the purpose of printing out terrain and large bases. When raging heroes released their spider goddess and gave it a base that wouldn't even fit in my Mono X I knew I needed to get one
Some day I'd like to get an FDM printer too, but I feel like it's got a whole other set of issues and variables to learn about. I feel pretty good about resin printing these days at least, but man would I love a table full of terrain!
@@ObscuritiesinMiniature The anycubic Kobra 2 neo or the Elegoo Neptune 4 are good easy starter fdms IMO. Ender 3 is what most people recommend but only if you put a crap ton of work setting it up and dialing in. (More then I'd like to commit anyway)
He really is an awesome model, and without any hyperbole I can say there's even wilder and more exciting stuff they've put out if you've got access to a printer...
Have you tried ABS Like resin? You can either print with it straight out of the bottle or mix it with standard resin. It gives just enough flex to help prevent snapping off those chains and swords, etc. It is a bit more expensive but so much more resilient.
I'm always amazed at how many minis you're able to paint, but I notice you seem to paint with the traditional paints and painting styles, which got me to wondering of you have ever tried slapchop and speed paints?
One of these days I'll give it a try. I played around with the speed paints when they were first coming out and I wasn't super impressed with them on their own, but at this point I've actually incorporated a few into my repertoire of go to paints.
@@ObscuritiesinMiniature They definitely don't work for everything, especially smooth flat surfaces. But some of the item's you print have a lot of texture, so I thought they might be perfect in those situations. Either way, I enjoy your videos and remain amazed at the amount of minis you're able to paint up. Keep up the good work!
Believe it or not, I do have hit primed and sitting in a drawer near my painting table, waiting his turn to be painted! I haven't made up my mind on just how to approach it. There's an awful lot going on with him! Now I'm going to be thinking about him all day, trying to figure out how to get started on it...
