This Spring I bought 50 acres of farmland in Central Iowa. The goal is to bring it back to full production and bring as much value add as I can for future appreciation and better cash flow. This was a super fun project that my parents, brother, and buch helped with. In all, it took roughly two weeks from start to finish with anhydrous. After this, we got 5 inches of rain and had some issues with old tile being clogged with tree roots further delaying planting.
We put 45 hours on the 4020 40 on the excavator and 30 on the skid loader. Possibly plans in the future is to add a large culvert to the creek crossing to get larger equipment through. Also finishing clearing another 2-3 acres that have been overgrown. Once we get some yield data back we can see if putting in new tile lines would be beneficial.
