Hi Sole, the key to this game is stamina, stamina comes from food, get food from fishing or bow and arrows, fish all night and RUN all day that way you get loads of resources and resources means faster building and weapons, weapons leads to confidence. I like your starting point you have 5 6 log grub trees in your area, you have kelp from the lake and you have fishing all night!! Fire takes 12 logs for the night, you need wood wood wood in this game! Looking forward to the series.
If noone mentioned it yet. Boars will run away right now if you get close, bor wound them a little. If they get badly wounded, or 'cornered', then they will charge you and probably break your leg. The Moose will run away, until you wound them quite a bit. But. In September / October Moose are in Rut, and they are aggressive. Then they charge on sight like the wolves, bears, and cougars. If you have sufficient stamina, You can generally outrun the wolf 🐺 or bear 🐻 However. The cougar and the moose, will usually catch you, and often kill you in short order.
I expect someone told you. Scavenge for nails. They are almost never worth the price to build. To each his own. But they are expensive and you have other stuff to spend those materials on. Hunt crates and bags. Find many many nails.
Also. The wolves will usually stop chasing you if you get up onto like Your platform. Bears, cougars, etc Will stay, and try to get to you even if they have to break the walls to do it. Good Luck!
Yeah. I am sorry that I bought this game. Terribly grind intensive. To the point that I get frustrated, instead of just enjoying the game. The graphics is ok, but the gathering becomes monotonous and boring. I will not recommend Subsistence to anyone. I will stick with Conan exiles, Satisfactory and Grounded. Best games at the moment. I just do not have the time to spend days grinding away and getting nowhere. If I could, I would ask for my money back.
