We use a simple deep litter system of rearing layer chicken for table eggs. Deep litter system is the alternative to cage system for those who care about the welfare of the birds while running a commercial enterprise.
Commercial hens usually begin laying eggs at 16-20 weeks of age, although production gradually declines soon after from approximately 25 weeks of age.
Chickens are given special care and are never caged. This combined with a serene environment ensures the chickens are not stressed and hence lay high quality eggs. The Farm offers the delicious fresh eggs to leading hotels, restaurants, schools, hospitals e.t.c who have a discerning clientele, keen on hygiene and taste as well as welfare of birds.
The eggs can also be found on selected supermarkets for domestic consumption. Farm also offers opportunity for study tour for interested groups.
