I learned my job on VIC 8. Later on Kinoton. Good old times! I quitt in 2005 when it finally went digital! I miss the times where Projectonist was a craft!!!
i worked with the vic 8 for a long time . we had two of them . i was doing the change over everytime at the end of each reel because there wasnt any tower to take up the whole movie and all . to top it all we ran a double feature twice a day . there wasnt anytime to rest but we enjoyed the craft. that was a true projectionist job. after the platter was installed i was getting bored to be honest . no excitement . then i quit.
xenon strike 0:14 oh , the 35mm days sure miss UCI and warner bros . 0:49 fader for CP50 . fader " 5 " oh , aghhh is that for the ad trailers . 2:20 fader looks like now set at " 4 " not uncommon for some film mixes that maybe too loud . 3:18 Dolby Stereo CP55 , those where common at UCI cinemas around 1989 , as CP65 was introduced early 1990's which became best selling cinema processor . what's underneath booth monitor ? 3:45 night vision to see if anyone has large VHS camcorder lol .
What cinema is this? Looks like somewhere in the UK by the light switches and sockets! Can't be many 35mm shows left with video taking over in many country's in the world.
Just checking my channel and came across your comment. This is the Dome Cinema Worthing, West Sussex. As you say its all video now. The Victoria 8 is now in the bar down stairs as an exhibit collecting dust sadly. We also had a Vic 5 in the smaller screen upstairs. The Simplex E7 with Pearless carbon arc lamphouse that is also in the video can still run film however but without sound (the film processor was removed). I saw it running recently. The Dome is not the same without film.
Thats Tragic! what a shame its been removed! The NewPark Cinema in Chichester is possibly one of the few remaining cinemas on the south coast with 35mm projection facilities.
It's the remote volume and input select for Dolby CP55. Everything in this cinema was totally manual - Curtains, masking, foot lights, projector start/stop, lens turret, even the house light dimmer. All automated now with digital.
@@youbian Building a theater today with projectors would be somewhat pointless, because new movies are no longer available on film. Even older titles have been transferred to digital, since their is no economical way of printing replacement copies of the film.
