The only bad thing about base building in Kenshi is the constant raids like 5-6 times a day. base building is quite literally broken. I just buy buildings in major cities and set stuff up there. Barely any raids and you can research easier.

To train an army: 1. Hire a fuckton of people; 2. Build a "bootcamp" at Gut; 3. Set out hunting parties preferrably 5 men: three melee two archers or four melee one archer; 4. Send them out to kill beakthings. Start small first by hunting two travelling beakthings, then three, then eventually rush entire nests when they're strong enough. 5. It's best to prepare two hunting squads so you can train the 2nd one while the 1st one rests. 6. Repeat step 4 until your men reach 40's in stats. Your archer don't need to be 40's since they're far from combat; 7. Kill slavers and praise Okran.

What you need is a skeleton or two with masterwork industrial lifter arms and KLR legs for combat, and the runny ones for running :) slap an edge 3 falling sun on them after some strength and dex training amd you can take out heft with a very small group. Kenshi belongs to the skeletons.

Tips if you want them. Robotic spiders are like animals and certain npcs with "death items" if you loot or even just drop them (Item) on the ground they die. Errorbots will (usually) not attack stuff if their target they are bodyguarding is sneaking. Spread out your troops or units with weapons with decent reach will decimate your troops as characters will not block attacks not meant for them. Get Toughness up on all your guys before fighting. Don't fight at the gates as they are protected by mounted crossbows/turrets and get a boost to dmg for height as well as being on some walls. Focus the Gate Sarg first as they have no helmet and have Specialist (10% of masterwork) armour. The Great Desert has the strongest Duststorms which apply -10attack to units without protection from it. So when the time comes to take out Tengu lead his guards outside as many of them lack protection from duststorms. Also... they will bury you without decent armour. Very high attack/dex units inside means you may need to either tank up or learn to micro. Npcs never use charges for their items. So loot their healing supplies even if you are just gotta drop them. Also they will not re-equip armour you take off them. I do not suggest taking away weapons however. Some units have high MA and paired with decent str/toughness you will lose a lot of guys to a few punches if you disarm the wrong guy. If you need any Kenshi help just hmu. -Frankiewuzhere

IDK how much of this game you know but you should try and get an animal called 'the great white gorillo' not to tame but to use as a combat training dummy try (yes try) and knock it out all your guys will git gud maybe hopefully with defense since it hits like a truck plus once you have it knocked out just drag it back to base build a pen for it release it and let a few people with blunt weapons to eventually knock it out again but just make sure your guys are wearing the best armor you can make/ get as it will tear low toughness people and no armor like butter I always use it and sometimes I will also get the big black gorillo as that is always and good combo with the white one to have when it needs a good heal but honestly if your guys can't solo an elder beak thing they won't have any chance in a major town like Heft.

Training to 50-70% range at least, good armor, weapons with decent Dex, Strength and Melee attack stats are most helpful taking down the biggest cities.

The weakness of flesh has failed you again. Maybe it is time to build a terminator army from the hard boys in the dead lands workshops. You can also make it easy mode (way too easy imo) if you acquire guns and just mow them down from afar. Corpse Factory could be a good name for the base, since that's what it produces more than drugs at this point.

when recruiting peons from conquered people, recruit powerful ones and not trash raiders. The officer at the gate for instance is one of the more powerful characters in the game and can probably defeat a shek trash attack on their own. Seriously if you want to skip to the top of the power curve, go get a house in heft and figure out how capture and convert some of the samurai elite that guard the emperor. I believe they are the best non named troops in the game, also turn unit size up to max just because it turns basically all the cities into warzones, good times.

Pro tip when playing kenshi all animals, organic and robotic function the same so just remove one meat from them they just die or in robotic spider remove the steel bars (also steel bars are pretty good to sell)

My biggest problem with bases is always that some enemies will somehow glitch through the walls, which is super annoying. I even tried the code thing to fix it, to no avail. That "solution" never worked for me, for whatever reason.
