I find an important step to starting in Embroidery is: be creative. Dont be afraid to try and push yourself. Especially in digitising. It's taken me 6 months of almost none stop training and i'm finally at a level where I'm happy with what I can create. It's such a steep curve, but if you have the passion you were talking about. You'll get there. I'm so happy with my new profession and I'm excited for what the future brings! :) Thank you for this inspiring video!

We had our embroidery machine since 2015 and I never had done anything, beside the class that they came to teach us how to use the machine. My husband did some jobs by himself. I feel very sad that 😞 I didn't support my husband when he was very excited about it. Now that I don't have a full time job I want to try 😫 but I am a bit nervous I don't want to mess up the machine 😅 and how I will get customers. Thinking to start my own RU-vid channel too at the same time. So many decisions to take 🤔 and now you talking about inventory. Lol 😆 🤣

What an eye opening!!!!!! for a person like me who is in a learning curve and passionate but yet not sure on what item I should invest: so far I narrowed down my market to hat, beanie, polo shirt and hoodies. I don’t have any inventory besides the items that I have in stock for practice. Well I am positive because I love embroidery 😊Thank you!

Great tips. With the shortage I say you need to find a niche that’s not saturated so you don’t have to worry about the blanks going out of stock. Startup cost is very expensive so if you’re not passionate about it I would say don’t jump into it and start small and test the water first.

Yes, finding blanks is now a full time job. I do understand alot more how the whole shipping game works and who carries what by researching so many vendors. Thanks for the additional tips!!

Hello Romero! I plan on starting an embroidery business within the next few months. However to get started I need to apply for a grant. I'm not able to work part time right now because I'm a sophmore in highschool and my parents don't want me working after school. I just wanted to ask do you have any reasources/information for getting grants for an embroidery business? Anything helps! Thank you! Also great vidoe!
@RomeroThreads

I don't have any info on grants. Best thing you can do is do research and check your local SBA.

My name is Rob Jones from Rochester NY .. I just reRecently purchased my Malco bravo embroidery machine. With the passing of my best friend and Mentor I was able to purchase is used Melco bravo machine. His machine was only two years old and it was purchased brand new. I am a graphic designer at heart, and I’m looking to start doing embroidering. The machine has sat for the past three months. I am looking For some advice to get started. Even before I turn on the machine I know there’s a few things I need to do can you please offer some advice.

Yes, the best thing you can do is start with most basic shape or design as possible. Maybe stitch out your name over and over in different sizes to get a feel for your machine. Join a Melco group and connect with someone that has a similar machine. Once you got the basics down, slowly start getting into more detailed work.

Angela Jasmina is, IMO, an embroidery specialist with several youtube videos. She loves the Melco machine. She has a FB group too. I suggest you check out her videos and join her FB group to learn more about Melco.

A couple more things to add, it’s also important to learn how to digitize so you can save money in the long run and also have more control of your product. Getting a machine you can grow in to, think of 6 months from where you’re at now and choose correctly. There is no best machine, only a machine that’s right for you, but make sure you do your homework about the machine and the company. I personally recommend Machines the are fully commercial and not semi commercial. Stay away from Chinese need too.
@MM-gf5vm
@MM-gf5vm 2 года назад
I disagree with your last sentence. The Bai Embroidery Machine is excellent and a very cost effective commercial machine for those starting out. A 12 or 15 needle single head commercial machine is less than $5K with shipping. And it's a beast.
