I shortly demonstrate how we can tie the starting - ending knots. These can be used for both tennis, squash, badminton racquets. This ending knot is also called the Parnell knot.
The stringing machine I used in this video is the Stringway ML100.

starting knot first before yo begin to string and tighten?

Yes, especially when you don't have the starting clamp. Otherwise, manufacturers nowadays recommend to use starting clamp to hold the string. After stringing all the crosses, go back to the first cross and do the normal ending knot 😀.

Starting knots can not be used in badminton, it will be emerged in holes, any good way?

Yes I understand the problem. I normally do extra loop so the knot gets bigger, or I use the starting clamp to hold the first cross string. Then after that, I pull the string again and do the ending knot. It's the recommended method for Yonex stringing as well, to protect the racquet. 😊

Why starting knots and no starting clamp?

We can do what we prefer, no need to follow the "book" 🙂. Some prefer starting knot to not to lose tension or simply not having starting clamp. Some prefer starting clamp to put less stress to the tie-off hole. For stiff strings or closed string pattern where I put lower tension, less than 22kg anyway, I prefer starting knot. Higher tension, then starting clamp.
