Cant' tell you how much i appreciate seeing other artists going through the same journey as i am. it's a very validating feeling and lets me know i'm not the only one that feels this way. Keep up the content!
I saw you struggling with taking a rest. And you said something really good: It is normal to rest. Actually: it is not even normal, it is supposed to be the goal and should take up 90 percent of your time. Resting, being at ease. The production thing can even be incorporated as rest and ease. I am a successful creative as well, and I do everything with the least amount of effort or I don't do it at all. Needed to learn to do that because of burnout many times. So: take your pad outside in nature, and draw there. Or learn to lay down and draw. Learn to do it in all sorts of positions and maybe even moving. When everything feels like taking a break from the thing you did before you end up being productive and in rest mode nonstop. Sleep comes naturally and the need to finish things before sleep is gone, you have done it all. It took me a year to master this. And still learning. But I really know for sure this is the way, it is possible and it is life-changing. Good luck. Wish you all the best. Please ask me questions any time.
Ahh I love the art you made in this video, you really inspire me to sketch more and not take myself so seriously! I’m also so proud of you for 😊 deciding to believe in yourself and open a shop I can’t wait to support you ❤! Keep going girly
Isn't it magical to find a great creator early in their career? The magic of the unfolding of their path, to be able to watch them grow! We are two of the lucky 7000 ( at the time watching this video she has 7000 followers). I am sure she is able to grow her audience very fast. I am binge-watching the rest of the content this week for sure.
It's great to see someone that has 2 jobs, loves videogames and takes the time to play them, is growing in illustration and also has a YT channel. I'm trying to do all of that (with only one job) and i'm having a hard time keep going. Your videos are really good, and you seem very authentic and true to yourself.
My mind just exploded at the tong hack 😂Definitely going to be trying that out. Found your channel by chance, and I'm rooting on your art business journey ✊You got this 💪Good luck!
So excited for you to start a new art business!! Congrats on taking that first step 🎉 I wish you all the success and I can’t wait to see your journey and growth 🥰 and same girl i also started two yt channels and two Etsy stores but hey 3rd times the charm 😀
Just discovered your channel with this video. I really liked it! I love how free you are with expressing your personality and really making it feel like we are with you along your day. I also love your editing style and how you ended the video. It made me want to keep watching!!
this is so fun/cool/inspiring to watch bc i'm also working on someday opening a shop/patreon and lately i've been doing the exact same research and planning that you're doing now. it makes me feel like i'm not behind on my art journey and that we can achieve our dreams with baby steps at a time. best of luck to you, so excited to see how your shop turns out!!! *edit* now that i've watched til the end lol THANK YOU for talking about the self limiting beliefs that you're experiencing bc i'm having those EXACT thoughts as well! i worry that bc i don't have my own art style yet that people will think all my stickers or prints are mismatched or something. but also i feel like even having the shop will motivate me to keep creating and keep developing my style over time. SO relatable, thanks again for sharing your thoughts!
So exciting! I opened my shop for the first time last year just with the goal of starting one and not looking for success. I'm sure your shop opening will go great and I can't wait to support you on your journey. Also, I definitely symbol the number 3 like you.
Good luck! I opened in 2021, last year was dealing with burnout and other things that took me away from my shop, so this year has been regrouping and fixing things I never laid out properly.
@@mrs.quills7061 Yeah I feel that big time. Burnout is tough and I've been trying to find the balance of prioritizing goals but also not pushing so hard. I wish you luck with regrouping!
I’m so excited that I found you because I’ll be starting an art business soon and documenting my journey right along with you! Let’s be art buddies who figure this out too!😂 Great video by the way!
Lol I'm fairly new to Notion too and I NEVER thought of literally drafting a visual shop/portfolio page in it. I love seeing your progress and ability to motivate yourself through the pure love of creating - you've got some really heart-warming and inspiring messages and I wish you the best of luck on your art journey!! I'm definitely gonna order some of your stuff when I can 💖 You've given me so many ideas on how to do my own creative shop stuff and helped me realise it's not as difficult as my mental blocks have me believe; keep doing what you do, Tofu 👏
Haha, I absolutely use tongs to grab things from my cupboards as well. I love your art and the whole color palette of your videos/apartment as well! Super excited to see what's next for you and can't wait for your art shop!
Tip from artist to artist: set a base color and add the others with a bit of transparence. The result will be so much harmonious. Took it when you can’t found the right palette :D I love your videos ❤
Happy 6k !!! I am seriously so proud of you 🫶 you are a very inspiring human to be honest 🫶 keep going and whenever you feel like you have a self limiting belief just say to yourself: " If I am gonna limit myself then how am I gonna inspire others ❤"
I was feeling lost and burnout lately about my life and career, but somehow watching this video made me feel alive and inspired again. I just love your energy and personality throughout the video 🥹 I’m looking forward to seeing more of your journey and growth! 💛
ah I love the way you make videos! I am also starting my art biz journey and your channel is inspiring me to realize I could create more vlog-style content which seems so much more fun than just like "how to" or timelapse drawing videos. ok going to watch all your videos now byee
OMG! U ARE MY FAVORITE ARTIST! So happy to see your art shop journey! Thanks for sharing it with us. I do art too..but never consider selling them..but watching u was super inapiring
i have a crochet small business atm and this video inspires me sm!!! i rly wanna get into stickers and prints but its so incredibly intimidating. ty for this ! :)
So glad I found your channel! I'm currently transitioning my career to engineering and looking to start a digital sticker side hustle and it's a lonely journey. Hope you keep making content and sharing your journey!
thank you so much for posting this ! i am trying to start my own small art business as well and struggling to figure out where to go with and start my video process of the whole thing, loved the vibe herre :)
Loved the video, I have to give myself these little reminders too thats its OK if I am not productive. I used to have a shop then I closed it - but I want to have another one and just start slowly - I jumped way in too fast and want to avoid that again. I was reading the artists way too, some of the exercises are hard for me like i cant remember who made me feel a certain way as a child lol but I did read the War of Art and really enjoyed that. We all just a need a little kick in the pants sometimes! Cheers to future art shops!
This is my first video of yours and I am hesitant with new artist because I need talking videos but I'm very picky with voices. NO DISSAPOINTMENT!!!! This was an amazing video, you're great and so is your art. Already subscribed XD I look forward to keeping up with this series.
As soon as you mentioned The Artist’s Way I smiled so hard. I’m reading it too and creating a shop soon as well! We’re on the same journey.🥹 Love this video too!❤
Geese in dresses was such a 90s thing. People dressed their cement geese up for the holidays and seasons. Once in awhile someone would steal one and send "postcards" of the adventures back to the people. I remember when one family was so relieved the statue returned in good condition.
All these drawings are so cute I definitely see your style blossoming! Also I used to do the #3 symbol like you but after learning ASL I do it the last way with your thumb x)
I LOVE THIS thank you for sharing. I’m starting an art business also and facing a lot of the same challenges so this video is very relatable and encouraging. Also I LOVE Zelda. When you said “Breath of the Wild” I RAN to the comments. Everything about you and your life is so inspiring and makes me feel soooo seen, like you’re me in another body and state, down to the kitchen utensils 👏🏾 haha Anyway. I just had to say thank you. Acknowledge the synchronization and wish you well because your art is beautiful
Synchronicity in action!!! Omg thank you for such a nice comment :))) sounds like we have a lot of the same things happening in our lives! Zelda and art and kitchen utensils lol
I found you video on the artist way book commentary/review and I already know that I’ll like it, but im still finding room in my schedule to actually do it. I also am not a fan of going out anymore since covid, so its been really hard to actually get inti the mood of going out by myself. I also think I need to prepare for the book so it goes on smoothly cos I wouldn’t want to get stuck in between and find it harder to progress if I dont prepare for the book to intervene my life and schedule. Then I watched this video and I really am liking to know your process on things. It’s also a good thing to know that you spent a year and some more time maybe just doing art and sailing with that passion before you got to this. I have also been made aware that I could use instagram as my portfolio or something even if i’m no longer a big fan of social media. Anyways, all in all, i’m learning a lot from your videos and I’ve literally only watched 2 so far! Yes, i’m a new subscriber too 🙈 thank you and. Keep making more please! ❤
This is so exciting, I love watching your videos and can't wait for this series watching you start your business. I would actually be really interested in a notion tour.
I love your art so much hope you set up a shop I’ll buy❤️also went to the luvs clinic yesterday and appreciate your advice! So lovely to have met all of you ladies!
I am literally fighting the urge to go play around on BoTW right now but I'm trying to get ahead on mermay so I can just get consumed by Tears of the kingdom when it comes out next week haha I have questions about yams versus sweet potatoes as well!! either way they're so so good omg I have such various tongs in my kitchen and they're so useful. Just watching you draw digitally has me wanting to pick up my ipad now :') the texture on the veggie piece is so pretty! the snail skater design was definitely my fave :) (also what the heck did that person on pinterest mean by the duck reminded them of a friend they have?!?! lol ) . I think getting over the beliefs that you need to be practically famous to be selling your art is the hardest part because you're right, you just gotta start! I can't wait to follow along and see more :)
haha I am so glad i'm not the only one constantly wanting to play!! I didnt even realize totk conflicts with mermay - maybe someone will draw a totk inspired mermaid?? thank u sm for the sweet comment I really appreciate it!!
i've recently discovered you and i find a place in your videos that i was really craving forrrr, thanks!! also my fav veg is i think calabacín aka courgette aka zuccini 💗
I’m so happy I found your channel! You and I are on very similar paths. I too work full time (just one job though thankfully) and have been slowly trying to build an art business. I launched a little Etsy shop in 2021, but burned out and now have been sort of regrouping and planning how to better do everything. Right now, I’m redoing my portfolio website and will be focusing more on social media next. I hope to have a channel too! I’m just scared to do it. Before I started all of this, I was taking some online art classes during the pandemic and really focused on improving my art and work flow. I got to a place where I was much quicker at coloring and my line art was much stronger too. I hope we can both leave our normal jobs and pursue an independent art life 😊 Also, do you live in New York? I live in Connecticut and where you walked looked very similar. I too meal prep when I have to go in!! I usually air fry or bake chicken to put in a massive bowl of salad with apples and stuff. My job is hybrid thankfully still, but it’s still a lot!
Omggg so great to hear from someone going through a similar experience! It can be so difficult and lots of ups and downs for sure. You got this!! Not in New York, but Chicago :)
I'm kind of in the same stage you're at with my own shop. Well, I have my shop but it's not quite where I'd want it to be. Mainly because I'm conflicted and confused as to what direction I want to go. My thoughts are too clouded because I want to do so much ahhhhh hahaha but much love ❤ and I'm looking forward to your success
Hello Gabi, I just found your channel and I love seeing your progress, binged watched a couple of videos already 😅 I Look forward to the future videos 💛
Ayee!! I'm also looking into starting a small shop and it's been really nice to test out some sticker prints. Sheetlabels gives out some free sample ones to try, so I reccomend using them for a test print to see if their sticker quality is what you want! I'm also trying to figure out the logistics of laminating stickers haha
Do you think it's better to make them yourself w/ a cutting machine when you're first starting out? Ive seen a lot of RU-vidrs manufacture their stuff (but they also do big numbers so it makes sense)
@@milkflavored I haven't been able to invest in a cricut yet so I hand-cut my stuff for now, but it definitely seems like it depends on the person! Manufacturing stickers requires you to pay for them each time, while the cricut hypothetically would pay itself off if you made the stickers. But manufacturing also could be useful for those who don't want to constantly re-stock/buy sticker paper to print stuff.
RU-vid randomly recommended me this video. I'm always looking for more fellow artists (and also trying to start up an art business ;_;) Look forward to seeing more of your work and vlogs ❤
Just found you through that video and you seem like such a nice person, I definitely will be watching more of your videos ❤️ and your art is so pretty, even your sketch for the vegetable design could have easily been the final product
Yes I'm so excited for the new Zelda to come out ! I will be the first Zelda I'll ever play even though I know all the other ones by watching let's play on youtube for almost 10 years ^^
LOL I do this too! Have never played a persona 5 game but have watched lots of let’s plays for some reason?? If it’s anything like BOTW, this Zelda game will be amazing!
Loving this video and how you’re building your portfolio. Also, genius how you applied your rare beauty blush… mine is a huge mess from taking it out of the tube!
Ok so for the number 3 thing, the way you do it can confuse people who use ASL, since that is the sign for W (index, pointer and middle) . The second way your boyfriend makes a 3 (pointer, middle, thumb) is the sign for 3 in ASL :) hope that helps!!!
Ohhh I am I’m limbo land currently between illustrating products and battling with my Cricut.. every new design. Packaging next then photos for my Etsy launch… but, I just passed my driving test recently so there’s that! X
Do u ever feel fomo for the other art styles u are deciding not to commit to when you do find your actual art style? For example... i love the semirealistic but also cartoons, also kawai, also comics and i can't choose which one to attempt.
new subscriber here ^^ just wanted to say thank you for making this video. I never sold any of my art either, I didn't even created an online store with my art and idk why lol maybe I'm afraid of getting rejected or anyone buying my art... but you motivated me so much and I love ur vibe :) would love to collab with u someday!
i am so happy that i bumped into you..I am also starting mine..i wanted to start vlogging as well but I am sort of shy showing my face or maybe nobody will watch my videos..where do you edit your videos?
