It's about time -- I quit my software engineering job at Meta a few months ago and decided to take on backpacking through Europe! Here's the day in the life of a software engineer on a sabbatical who starts their trip in Mexico City and decides to buy the cheapest flight out of CDMX to Central Europe. I ended up in Vienna, Austria! It was an incredibly romantic city to tour with Alex and I'd absolutely go back again. The Schönbrunn Palace was one of my favorite pit stops along with several cafes, such as Mozart Cafe. We took part in their cafe culture almost every day. Then, we took a short stop in Bratislava Slovakia for a day trip and the bus only cost us 5 euros each way! This rustic city was absolutely worth it to visit.
