Starting My Ear Stretching Journey/Gauges

I’ve had my ears stretched for around 20 years. I’m at 1 1/2” or 38mm. Plan on going to 2 inches. I let my ears close several times and always restretch so now I’m just keeping em. Took out my tongue, nose, and lip piercings. Kinda miss em, but i took em out for work. My job would rather see my ears with spacers instead of my dangling calamari rings lol it also stems from ancient asian and Hispanic cultures. It meant different things to different spiritual groups. And as a metal head who knows tons of people with stretched ears, I can promise you, none of us that are white believe it to be a white thing. Most of us are very aware of where it comes from and what it means, and we adopt some of those spiritual beliefs and do it as well. It’s typically spiritual or for fashion, but no one denies where it comes from. Of anything we appreciate that it’s stayed all these years. Color means nothing. We’re all human sharing this experience together.

Actually the earliest known account of stretched ears would be Otzi the iceman. He was born near Italy. But I think many cultures have done it for thousands of years. It’s a human thing, not a race thing :)
