No Man's Sky is a procedural science fiction exploration and survival game developed by English developer Hello Games out of Guildford, UK. Hello Games is best known for their Joe Danger series, and brought their unique development style to No Man's Sky. The game features planetary exploration, deep oceans, space-based battles, predators and prey, and much more across various procedurally-generated worlds. Each world has its own ecosystems, rewards, and dangers, leading the player through the four core pillars of the game: Explore, Fight, Trade, and Survive. The game launched on 9 August 2016 in NA on PlayStation 4, 10 August in EU on PlayStation 4, and worldwide on 12 August on PC. The launch for Xbox took place on 24 July, 2018.

I started playing this after watching your old NMS vids a couple weeks ago. My 6 year old son and I love paying this together, and if I remember your son had a save that got deleted before your last vid. I hope he was able to start back up again too. My son and I really enjoy watching your vids.

That planet was a breeze to the one I started on. On top of having a planet that was 70C I have never played this game before so I couldn't figure out how to repair stuff initially. That storm killed me instantlay.

Survival isn't all that tough, if you can get past the very beginning, the rest is downhill... however, do know that even though you have same storage space, your ability to carry items in those slots is DRASTICALLY reduced... in your Exosuit main inventory its only 250 items of each item, your cargo exosuit is max 500 items for each sliot and the Vaults you buy for your base do NOT hold 9999 items of each, but only 1,000 of each. So keep that in mind if you plan to do serious manufacturing, because you will definitely be limited to how much you can hold.

I like survival mode but the only issue I have with it is that every cool looking world has angry sentinels on it. At least give a chance to find a paradise planet without hostile sentinels or a in game way to cleanse the planet of sentinels.

Is there a tangibly more rewarding experience by playing survival mode (in terms of gameplay encounters, discoveries, greater reward due to greater risk etc..) - or is the reward simply the challenge itself? Not sure if I've articulated myself very well, but I've put 60 hours or so into the game on PS4 around 2 years ago, so I'm not totally new, but I know there's a great deal of new content ... so I'm wondering whether to start Survival or Normal (I've read the differences between the 2, but I wonder if there are any undocumented differences, such as potentially better loot or more dynamic combat encounters that wouldn't happen in Normal mode). Another factor would be other players / multiplayer; is there a thriving Survival community or do most people play Normal mode?

first person view is only good for shooting creatures, you failed by immediately switching into it. hope you enjoyed running into everything unnecessarily due to the lack of depth perception that comes with first person mode... LOL
