It’s amazing just how much you can get done when you have the right kit and a TOP side kick driving the haul truck, dozer, compactor and coffee pot… the perfect duo working in total unity… I’m sure you realise just how fortunate you are Chris. Total respect to both of you…

I am glad Chris got the "curly cue thing-a ma-jig" tightened up so he can continue slinging that ten tons of material every few seconds or so! Wow! The 550 does a tremendous amount of work; when it breaks down, it can stop a tremendous amount of work too! Let's hope for the best.

I am astounded at the amount of dirt you moved in this video. That 550 really is a beast. Glad you were able to diagnose & correct the error so you could keep working and not have to have a Volvo mechanic come out. This is a fun series. Thanks for sharing with us all, Chris.

@dennisrogers8107 Год назад
I was thinking something similar, but more. I get lost when he says "take this dirt from here ..... and move it over there and this part has to come down so many feet". Do a still and mark THIS DIRT (mark it somehow) and then arrows to the "over there" and maybe mark the area to cut or fill or what ever. The whole depth perception thing gets lost on a computer monitor. Help us out.

It seems like there is a lot of dig it here, pile it there that goes on but Chris has the plain his head. There are no drawn out plans. Of course until you start moving dirt you haven't got a solid view of whats there so it just winging it to get done.

I feel we are lucky he gets the videos out that he does, it's not like he's a work addict. More time in the edit space is less time in the dirt space and less money to pay for all the toys.

That would be nice BUT, that's an entire production all on it's own. Chris spends way more time on editing what we get. I'm just thankful for that. The way he explains things, after a while you'll start to "see" what he's thinking and understand what he's doing.

Chris - have watched your videos daily for about 2+ years. The bucket on this 550 is unbelievable! Must be a rental, as it would be impractical to haul around in so many pieces with assembly, etc. But it is indeed a beast. Most watching is on TV where I can't comment. But here goes a few: get the cam out side the cab - looking through those windows/wipers/dirt/etc is terrible. You could wear a wireless mic for your running commentary. But the best shots ever are when the cam is outside the dozer. You would think the excavators would have a spot up on the roof near the front. When the cam is inside the excavator for about half or more of a vid, it is not your best. Also, you constantly refer to folks working with you as 'him' 'they' and rarely ever mention or introduce your helpers (not counting BealyGood). Like John - the guy helps you a ton but only once in a great while he gets any face time or credit. And for others. You are a magnificent planner and operator but you do lack a little in the 'spread the credit' department. Hey - you would do great on one of those Minataurs!
