After seeing all these comments I just wanted to say I didn't mean to belittle anyone's phobias or anything, I didn't realize how many people have trypophobia! I meant my comments in a joking way and I hope it came off that way as I really don't want anyone to think I am judging them or any phobias they have ❤️ love u all!
My sister has it! I also thought it was a strange fear she had cuz i thought how are holes scary? But apparently it's a survival instinct that comes from humans avoiding illnesses, so when people got sick and their skin would...rot(to put it nicely) others would know to avoid the sick based off the weird hole-pattern in the skin of the sick. But yea super weird!
😁 I believe that you didn't mean any harm in asking, you were just perplexed and a little amused because you didn't understand it. And yes it exists, I have it and I feel disgust every time I see one of those photoshopped pictures of holes on faces or hands. I feel super uneasy and sometimes I feel like crying and I start panicking a little bit.
Am I the only one or does anyone else get anxiety when Gwyn holds her figure by the bottom of the base and moves them around while explaining? Especially when she says they’re unstable on the base 😭 I love you Gwyn but my heart rate during those parts is definitely not stable 💀
Lol i geniunely can't watch the section of Shuten Douji figure unfortunately, the fear is real! Tbh it's not the fear of holes but closely packed holes and her frilly sleeves aren't the worse example but they definitely make me uncomforable to look at - rest of the figures you showed were definitely reallycool tho!

fear of holes is a simplified description, for me it's more of a disgust for the textures a cluster of pits make. the shuten figure isn't a huge offender personally, but if the sleeve texture was on a tree trunk or something i'd gag basically lol
As someone who lives in the UK I apologise for the delay in your shipping. We had a massive amount of postal strikes all over December and Januray, the backlog was unbelieveable! I would not be surprised if your parcel was caught in that. Even getting post from one point in the country to just down the road was taking several weeks.
I wouldn't say I'm afraid of holes but I definitely find them icky. I think it's because a bunch of small holes close together looks like a wasp nest and I'm very afraid of wasps. I think this figure is super cute but I probably wouldn't be able to own her because of the holes (or maybe I would display her sideways 😅) Anyway great video as always! Love your cozy hauls 💕
i actually have trypophobia and it's like i'm grossed out to the point of not being able to look and getting chills down my spine. i also have ocd so i have intrusive thoughts about it and have to do some compulsions i do if i see holes. i didn't preorder that shuten douji bc it slightly triggered it, but after seeing it a million times during the preorder period i got desensitized bc it was only slight in the first place. the rave reviews convinced me to order it now. i feel like this is tmi but you asked lol
I feel like the miku harmonia doll looks exactly like the Miku Pullip doll that groove released a few years back. Same big head and small body with a much more affordable price (around 150 If I remember correctly)
the hair sculpt on that skytube figure is GORGEOUS 😭😭 nsfw figures are not my thing so i won't be picking her up any time soon but she's sooooo tempting just because of the hair

it's a real phobia, although the term "phobia" might be a bit misleading because (at least in my own experience) it's more of an aversion/repulsion. for me it's like... yever see someone getting an injury or a surgery or something and your body/brain tries to map out what it might feel like? That's what happens whenever I see holes/clusters, and I feel uncomfortable/itchy until I can stop thinking about it (which can take a while). The figure was fine, the sculpt looked enough like frills to not set it off for me, but thinking of trypo did lol 😅

I just got a resin in January, Nezuko by U-King Studios, it’s really nice, it has a great light up feature. And I just got an email from AmiAmi this morning Mari by Revolve is ready to ship, so should have her soon.
I'm really 50/50 on Skytube. They are really tough to disassemble and when assembling back they don't fit 100%. Nothing that hurts their displayability. It might be true only for the older figures as I have all my SkyTubes pre-owned atm. That being said, Nure Megami looks enchanting 🥰
Have trypophobia, but that figure didn't set it off. The design within her sleeves smushes the hole shapes some, and you are happily engaging with the figure, so "ick" factor was removed.
Honestly I have no issues with the harmonia dolls design wise. It's just as a doll collector I'd rather use the 300 as a down payment for a 1/3 Dollfie dream doll (some of the vocaloid ones are getting re released and you can easily find Miku's for 700 etc) But the Rwby one is tempting
There are different levels for the phobia... for some people even those small holes can trigger it. For me is more about the holes on the freaking frog and the flower that I don't remember the name and I'm scare to look for it.
I almost bought that Hayasaka. And had it been my earlier figure collecting days, I would have. But now, primarily due to space issues, I'm trying to trim back on purchases. Ultimately, I decided to wait for the bunny(which I have now ordered) as I've already got the Chika and Kaguya, it is always nice to have complete sets. I also don't like Nendoroids much. Between owned and ordered, there is a total of two, out of over a hundred figures. Generally speaking, I refuse to buy one if I think scale can do it better, regardless of whether said scale actually exist. The two Nendoroids I have, they just work better as Nendoroids IMO , and that's very rare. One is Saber Lion which is canonically kind of chibi, the other is Marin Kitagawa who is normally of the sexy variety but the Nendoroid really pull off the cuteness. Edit: There is one other character I considered a Nendoroid of: Bakarina. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the face plate that I would have wanted for her, the empty eyed look in the ED of the anime. If it had that, I would have bought it. Nendoroids are best at being cute, but most of the characters I like are not of the cute variety, but instead either awesome, sexy or both. This contribute significantly to why they can't beat scales for me in most cases.
I'm a big fan of the persona series, Im not into vinyl's but the persona soundtracks are just so good and that vinyl looked so good I just might have to cave and buy it NGL Haha
Maybe some people are truly afraid of holes (trypophobia) , I just find the sight nauseating. It only applies to like an absurd cluster of dark holes for me.
I dunno if I strictly have trypophobia but seeing google's examples of trypophobia sends me straight into revulsion 😱 Your Shuten Douji's sleeves don't trigger that though, they're fine 👍
Persona 5 Royal was my first VGM Vinyl set, unfortunately iam8bit is famous for having super long wait times and delays but they get some good IPs so its kinda unavoidable if you want those OSTs.
I love Shuten, love Oni girls, I love Ques q… but I just can’t get myself to pull the trigger on that figure. It’s obviously quality and stunning but idk if it’s her face being rounder looking than normal that’s turning me off… I’m definitely not afraid of holes (lol) I have the Max Factory one and I think she has the best face of all her figures so far

Yes it is a phobia and it is the main reason why I never would buy this figure. The figure itself is perfect, beside that part. It is not that bad like I need to look away but the more I look at it the more it disgusts me. I can't explain why but yes I have this phobia.
Yea some Nendoroids are so annoying, they need to make all Nendoroids with the joints in the arms & legs, like the Stealth Suit versions of Deku, Shoto & Bakugo from My Hero Academia, or Natsu from Fairy Tail. You don’t have to worry about their arms and legs falling off, you only need to change their hands.
The Shuten is so beautiful, I just love all the Fate figures, I just love the designs of all the characters. You should watch the Fate animes, I don’t play any of the games either but I watch all the anime. But that sounds like a made up phobia, but people have become so weird over the last 10 years I wouldn’t be surprised that people have created a new phobia to pretend to have haha.
You'll have to close your channel - it's costing me too much! I didn't even know about the Harmonia dolls - as someone who collects (among other things) Nendos and Nendoroid dolls I am in such trouble now.
