sounds like new. amazing engines never die. i put 20 litres of 98 gas and run it for 150 kl in mine last year before realizing my mistake, i then put a litre of mineral oil and another 20 litre of diesel and it ran as if nothing wes ever wrong. try doing that in a modern diesel!
A Passat like this here in Brazil, you import these cars to South America, we didn't have that one in our country. Success to the channel and respect for cars.
Legendary diesel Passat! I have two of them (1.9d, 64hp): one as everyday car, and other as summer weekend car with no rust and painted body parts. They live in our family more then 10 years. Thank you for video!
The 1.6 and 1.9 diesels are the best engines vw made 1 st it does not matter what engine oil you put in,as long as is it liquid and greasy it is ok. 2 nd parts are cheap like filters and glowplugs we do a full engine service on a 1.6 oil, filters, timingbelt for less then 100 euros for parts.
The old 1.9TDI with the VE Injection Pump has to be one of the most reliable and long lived Diesels ever made in Germany. I would say that this engine is more reliable than the later 1.9 PD. If I was in charge there I would just update this engine to Commonrail and still produce it in 2023.
Back to life? Lol,personally i would not take that Passat 1000 km holiday trip from Helsinki to Lapland with family. It needs little more restoration than "working" engine and some more tyre airpressure 😅
In Bosnia we say that the 1.9 engine was VWs biggest mistake as this piece of art never breaks. After the Golf 1&2, VWs with the 1.9 motor completely took over Bosnia, recently I drove in a passat b4 cab that had 600.000KM on the clock. Almost every car with a 1.9 has over 350-400.000KM originally, the trick is the clock can be easily manipulated on these cars. This particular model is called "pijačar" which translates to "bazar/market car" as it is mostly used by farmers who sell their watermelons, potatoes and everything else to transport their goods to the bazar or sell them directly to you out of the trunk. A friend of mine tanked only heating oil in his b4 1.9 till it was "legal" and it ran smoothly. So many stories to tell about these engine and cars, keep up the good work flex👍
Great video as always, I always can't wait for the next one and the next one, I'm always thinking what could be wrong with it before it starts, we also had a passat b3 but in 1.9 TDI 66 kw and it flew like crazy and then we had a b4 in full damn, it's a shame we gave it away, it was a great car, lots of music for little money 😀
Love Volkswagen Passat wagon German vehicles they last forever oil change tires not sure stick shift automatic also good condition inside seats cloth very cold outside my best mechanic in the field bless you keep bringing new videos
My congratulations, once again you have done it again, you have managed to put an old and abandoned car into operation, in adverse weather, with snow and cold. What a pity about the state of the car, I think that with a little love and desire to work on it, the Passat could be put in a dignified and shiny state to have a second life again. Greetings and until the next video.
Ciao dall italia
Another car that the engine will live forever, this modern diesel cars dont know what is a real tank like this. I love this chassis i dont know why so clean. For me some nice wheels and suspension on this cars and im good to go. I hope it have a happy ending for this car and cars. Always waiting for the notification to enjoy this great videos and piece of history,i dont see this chassis on my roads. Cheers !
Undestructable machines : 1.6 diesel and 1.9 TDI. My neighbour have got Golf 3 1.9 TDI. It passes 1 200 000 km, and it still looks and run like it is brand new.
Passat wszechczasów ( i35). Pamiętam, gdy One wchodziły do sprzedaży pod koniec lat 80./ Passat of all time (i35). I remember when they came on sale in the late 80's.
A manual choke on a diesel !!! wow and the radio works plus waht must be a 5 litre washer bottle I had a Passat before this model and it's washer bottle was huge, filled up once a year or felt like it top video love your channel
Looks like you have a really nice sweet running engine there, that deserves to be put into a better car! I once worked on those all the time, but most are extinct now. Many of the ones I worked on were gasoline powered 16 valve versions, and did a lot of timing belts years ago. Some models used V-belts for the accessories, and with air conditioning it really was not a fun job...
I like the car cleaning part the most. Feel extremely happy when every corner of the vehicle is cleaned. Really love your videoes. Keep it up..Good Luck👍👍
Back in the days when some bars bolted to the doors were called "side impact protection". ;) But i like the Passat, i live close to the town where they were built (Emden/Ger) and in the 90s they were everywhere.
