Hi I am using Lenormand cards for 6 -7 years now and I know the Anchor will mostly symbolise your Job, but it shows also what you kinda depend on and are not able or willing to let go of (like an unhealthy relationship for examle), the whipes are in pretty much every book on the lenormand cards described as verbal communication, arguments or even a court case. So my first impression of those two cards was that there might be arguments around your work place.
Just starting to branch out from Tarot (which I love) and my clairaudient insight. Just enjoying this new system (which I know is old hat to most but I finally broke down thanks to Jason Lenzini (up and coming wonderful Lenormand expert here in Colorado). Thanks for the video! If I would to recommend a system to learn the Lenormand cards I would always suggest doing it kinds like I did, which is by going straight for the grand tableau (which means pulling all 36 cards). I know for beginners it can be overwhelming at first but I feel you will learn much faster that way. So with that you would look for the female/male main card (depending on your sex) and the cards surrounding it to get a first impression of what is going on for you.
Each card has a number (mostly on the upper left side of the card). So since in the grand Tableau you you either go for 4 lines with 8 cards + a fifth line with 4 or 4 lines with 9 cards (I personally do the last). So the first card in line 1 is the house of the first card in the deck, which happens to be te rider, the second house will be the house of the second card: the shamrock ando so on and so forth. So you take pretty much the core meaning of the card for the meaning of it's house.
so these were obviously just a few examples. When I first stared to use the houses (which really helped to intensify my readings and gave me more clarity) I was painting 36 little squares on a piece of paper (so 4 lines with 9 squares) and I wrote in them the name of the house and a short meaning associated with it. So let's say you wanna find out about love you first look where your card is and what is surrounding you (maybe a card representing a person)
It can mean many things, depending on the context of a question or situation. On their own: Whip is something repetitive or painful like a pattern. Anchor is stable, staying put....so it's like someone with an addiction or painful pattern that is staying in one place doing the same thing (not improving). It can mean painful but stable (think of someone with a chronic illness, it may hurt but isn't progressive). That sort of thing.
Sounds like they are saying "stay" with that anchor....and fox/birds can be "discussions about work" or "nervous manipulations" or "discuss manipulations." It all depends on context. You can put another line of three under them and have the bottom cards modify the top ones, too.
And then I would go for that topics that you are interested in like romance (which would be indicated by the heart and ring) or job (anchor and fish (fish represents money)) and all the cards that surround those. After that I mostly go see in which house each card is in, that's why the grand tableau is so amazing to me since houses only work in that spread. To find out what houses I am talking about you only need to look at the cards.
So for example: House 8 is the house of endings (coffin), House 13 is the house of new beginnings (child), house 17 is the house of changes (storks), House 18 is the house of friendship (dog), house 21 is the house of your blockades (Mountain), house 24 is the house of Love (heart), House 25 is the house of your realtionship (ring) House 28/29 is the house of the male/female person (so eg. if your a man nr. 28 is your house and if you are married or in love nr. 29 is the house of your lady)
Hey Donnaleigh, I am using this technique and I am beginning to understand card combination better. I got stuck with this one though - whip + anchor. Any suggestions?
let's say you are single, so you goo see if someone (rider, bear, snake, man/woman depending on your sex) is close to you and what card surronds that card, then you go for the cards of the heart and the ring and what surronds those. Finally you can check the houses now, so in what house are you in, the heart and the ring in as well as the other person is in (if you are in love or the cards show someone close). Lastly show what card is in your own house as well.
