As someone who is dying from 2 rare diseases, I SO appreciate that you are so loving to share these videos! I’m bed bound, and can only use my hands, and this really helps me get out of my own head for a while. I pray that you get everything you ever want out of life! Thank you 🙏
Kat, as someone also with many complex rare & devastating diseases I have seen first hand how God can make impossible possible & bring healing when there's is no hope. I've been resuscitated multiple times Inc on operating table repeatedly over 8hr period there's so much I'd love to tell you, having bn paralyzed from neck down too. But if people only realised that God is all around, easy to see him & connect with him, when you see him in all things...ive had so many miraculous events witnessed by drs & yet though people see for themselves, most people would rather believe it's just mind over matter or I must have been lying faking or other stupid ideas rather than believe in a creator! We've all been so lied to all our lives. When you understand that Christ took upon himself every Sin, Pain, Sickness disease & see just how awesome He designed everything (more you learn, more you want to know & more you understand how truly we are loved btw, it's The Most Fascinating journey)! Please listen to healing scriptures which the bible the Word is frequency, which is light, which is what God is made from & so are we & all things were created from! So listening to the word not only increases yr faith, but cos there's Supernatural Power in it, God also sends his angels to Perform His word. This is why it's Nothing to do with organized religion, but more about Faith, which is a gift in itself, it comes through Hearing God's word & scripture was inspired through God through His Holy Spirit! Listening to worship music & healing scriptures or even just scriptures about God's promises, of which you'll find plenty on YT, you'll start to see change anyway, but I pray you receive healing & understand just how much you're loved. Having something of beauty which is relaxing to focus on eg macrame, I'm finding too, is so important. Hope this finds you Hun & I know I've gone through what I have, to help! & encourage others, out of love for humanity. So my prayer for you is that you receive this message of love hope faith & healing. If you want to receive jesus Christ as your Lord & saviour speak to Him, tell him that you Repent of all sins & ask for his forgiveness, then ask him to receive you into his family, as you give your life to Him, with thanksgiving, ask that He fills you with his holy spirit & cleanses you completely, ask him to heal you & to teach you revelation of his word. Ask him that your testimony of healing will bring lots people into relationship with Christ, king of kings! Who Is God! 🙏❤
Back in the ‘70’s all we really had was mostly jute. I made plant holders, wall hangings and I made my mom and me frog soap and towel holders. I still have the instructions for them
Right, I have seen many pictures of what macrame looked like the the 70's. But I imagine working with the jute was not as pleasant as the macrame cords we have today since that material is quite harsh...
Oh, Anna! How I wish I had found your channel sooner. Your tips, tricks, and so many helpful ideas really give me hope in this new adventure. I purchased a few oddball skeins from various vendors and manufacturers, but you really sold me on sticking with Bobbiny for the nicer projects. I've definitely subscribed, and am looking forward not only to sharing your channel, but binge-watching all of your videos. Thank you SO much! Karen M.
That's such a lovely comment, thank you Karen 😊 And I am so glad to hear that my videos are helping. I am a huge fan of Bobbiny, I think they are more on the pricey side but I have not found a better selection of colors, cords types and sizes anywhere else...
I have crocheted for the past 7 years and am ready to do something else. I love the look of macrame projects and am actually making crocheted potholders out of 3mm cord that everyone loves. I am interested in starting a wall hanging bit where do you find driftwood? I know you would want it to be insect free and sturdy enough to hold your work and hang. Thanks so much. I will be watching more of your tutorials! ❤️🙏
Well macrame sounds like a great choice for you 😉 I get my driftwood in the local woods and you are right that I try to pick pieces that look insect-free and sturdy. I will do a video in the future on how I prepare my driftwood so stay tuned for that!
I’m just starting. Keychains and bookmarks are my favorites. I can do them while I’m sitting in my bed watching watching tv at night. They are perfect for that! Lol
I was very hesitant about whether I want to make macrame as a business or just keep it as a hobby that I enjoy, but I loved how you managed that and it definitely inspired me, thank you for your lovely video.
Well hopefully one day in the future I will start seeing a more substantial income from my RU-vid channel but for now it's definitely a hobby for me 🙂 I am so glad to hear you were inspired!
So happy I found your channel! You are so inspiring and informative! I have not made my first project yet. I'm just starting to gather ideas and information. Please keep doing what you are doing. Thank you so much!
Yeaaay... Finally a video for a really total amateur macrame beginner. I love macrame stuff n have been looking for physical classes to learn the how to's but to no avail. Then I tried utube but mostly are beginners' projects n not the how to's to start. Thanks so much for this. Hope I am on the right path to a great hobby ❤ ❤❤
Hi Anna, I'm Anna from Italy. Thank you very much for all your explanations made with patience, very clear, nice and professional. I started working macramé on my own a few weeks ago. I hope to soon be able to realize important and beautiful projects. Your explanations are very very valuable to me. A hug from Italy, Tuscany, with love Anna
Great video! I have been practicing on friendship bracelets/bookmarks made out of embroidery thread that I already have laying around. Lots of fun colors to keep me from being bored as I do the same knot over and over.
do you have any recommendations as far as where I could go to to purchase my items like rope, to scissors, hanging supplies, etc. I am near a SUPER WALMART. Plus Walmart would be very ideal for me to go to if they do have the supplies I need, mainly bc its a whole lot closer to me. distance, evidently Thank you so very much. This was the absolute perfect video that I've been looking for. All beginners need to watch this one, not to mention, I will be following ALL of your older and upcoming videos in the near future!!!
Anna, im realy enjoying watching all your videos, you are inspiring me to get started. You make things look so easy. Thank you for sharing them wonderful tips !!! Im so thankful i found your page. I am subscribed & im looking forward to watching more videos. I just 💘 you first two pieces you made when starting out their georgous !!!
I am so happy to hear that Sherene! Whenever people tell me I got them inspired and motivated to do macrame I feel that all the work I put into it is worth it 😌 I hope you will enjoy this new hobby!
I have been really called to take on macrame as my next creative adventure. I make jewelry and wire wrapped jewelry. However I like to break up my creative projects so I am not burnt out on one. My question for you: for me as a beginner just trying to figure out if I like macrame, what do I use to hang my dowels on without having to invest in a clothing rack. Something that won't break my bank but make it easy to do a wall hanging project.
I know I am answering this kinda late so it may not be relevant anymore but at the beginning I used a clothing hanger and would hang that on my curtain rod 😉
Thank you video just new to this never made anything but thought it looked fun so I am going to try it out:) Just wondering seems to me that on a stick like you have it on your projects that it would be harder to get it even is that true or am I thinking wrong. They are beautiful great work.
Thank you 😊 It definitely is a bit more tricky to get things straight on a piece of driftwood compared to a dowel, especially if there is some bigger curve in the wood. Sometimes I have to adjust the pattern to make it work...
Hmmm, I haven't done any repairs on my macrame yet. I think this will depend a lot on what exactly needs repairing because I can imagine that in most situations a repair is not possible and you just have to create a whole new macrame. Maybe you can send me a picture over on Instagram and I can try to advice if possible...
Hey Anna! Your words really inspire to begin with the macrame. Also your works are amazing.. Really amazing.. I'll really appreciate if you can please guide how to recreate the second piece you've shown in the video. I really like that one..,but scared as I'm not so confident or good on macrame..
Thank you for such a beautiful comment Ami 😊 I am so happy to hear that you got inspired! I was actually following this video for the second piece and doubled it in size: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EciMoh4qo98.html I hope that helps ;)
I wish I could give you a good answer but I never looked up any specific workouts for this. I was just trying to stretch my hands, wrists and my back often when I was doing macrame for long periods of time.
Hi (: I am new and I haven’t done my first project yet 😢.. but I am considering keychains for a starter and to sell.. do you think I should start selling these projects in cash and then little by little starting posting them on social media and eventually selling them online. Idk what do you suggest..
Hi Melisa 👋 Well you have something to look forward to then 😉 I haven't sold that many pieces myself so I don't know if I am the right person to give advice on this 😅 I would say the most important thing is to get started with something, anything. You can always change your strategy if you see it's not having the results you were expecting...
Hello. What can I use to start working on a macrame? I see a lot of people use a clothing rack, but I would like to try this without investing in one, if possible.
Hi Luiza, when I first started I would use a piece of string tied to the piece of drift wood and then I would hang the string on a clothing hanger which I would then hang on my curtain rod on one of the windows where I could work in front of it. Maybe that could work for you as well...?
Hello Anna, Thanks for all the detail information on your chanel. And love your style. just wondering - if I want to give them as a present, how should I pack it? Just roll them around the wood? Can you please share your thoughts? Thanking you in advance. Yash
Thank you Yash! 😊 That’s a good question and the main reason why I don’t like to pack my own pieces and rather hand them over face-to-face. But I guess if you had to pack them then yes, I would roll it onto the wood or dowel. I think you should also give some instructions to the receiver how to put the piece into the intended shape (eg brush through the fringe or something like that).
I have never made a plant hanger myself but since I see those tutorials everywhere I would say it probably is safe. But if you are concerned you can get some sturdier cord and just use the macrame technique to make the plant hanger, it doesn't need to specifically be macrame cord.
Is there any “rule” for length of the rope vs length of the artwork after all the knots? It looks like one side gets used/shorter faster than the other - would you recommend to have different lengths on each side?
I have this video explaining how to calculate how much cord you need and there I also talk about how you need to consider the pattern and that each knots works a bit different. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Eah8xMSfPyI.html
I have never made a hanging chair but I would is it would be good to use some really thick cords - probably 9mm or thicker. I think you will fond those most as 3ply cords. As for the rings I would try looking in a hardware store…
Hi Claudia, I would suggest to first try some local supplier to see if they sell macrame cords, if you won’t find any you can try the amazon links that I have under each tutorial for the cords.
Hi Valentina, so what exactly would you want my advice with? When I work on a new type of project I always first look on Pinterest for some inspiration and that usually is all I need to get me started and design the piece myself. I hope that was at least a bit helpful.
@@annabaginova01 Hi Anna. I did not know how to start . I want to make a small loops for hooks without a wooden pole. Its my second project anyway .I already started. Thank you for your reply. I can send you a photo if you want.
@@valentinaprihradska4285 Ah, okay, got it. Well I am glad my late reply was not stopping you from the project 😌 Sure, you can send it to uzliky@gmail.com 😉
Try looking in your local craft stores or online, in most countries macrame is having a quite a boom right now so I am sure your will be able to find local suppliers of macrame cord 😉
Dear Anna, thank you very much for the fantastic, patient and precise instructions. Your videos encouraged me to try making my first macrame. It is a curtain for the door of a house on the sea. I’m thinking of inserting an extra cord to make it thicker. Here I am sending a few photos and a lot of nice greetings from Croatia. Ana facebook.com/photo?fbid=10224946398465644&set=pcb.10224946398745651
That curtain looks fantastic Ana! 😍 I love your choice of colors, really nice natural tones that go so well with the environment. And those seashells!! You know how much I like accessorizing my pieces with all kinds of things but I haven't tried seashells yet, maybe I should :D I think this is an amazing result of your first macrame project, well done! I probably wouldn't add the extra cord, but hey, this is your project and your creative outlet so do whatever feels right to you ;) And of course you have made my day by saying that I was the one that inspired you to get into this 😊
@@annabaginova01 Dear Anna, Thanks for the compliment it means a lot to me from my teacher :-) I was thinking about your comment that I shouldn’t add cords. However, this curtain, in addition to the aesthetic, must also have the function of a shade, so I added a knot and reduced the distance between every fourth thread :-) By the way, there are a lot of tutorials on youtube, but your videos suit me best. In my opinion you have great diction, you speak English nicely, understandably, and the explanations are clear and precise. That's why I'm really looking forward to your new tutorials :-) please don't give up :-) facebook.com/photo?fbid=10224950751254461&set=pcb.10224950757934628
@@anasutlovic9772 Oh yeah, that's true, we often need to think about practicality as well. Well I'm glad you were able to make it work for you ;) And thank you so much for the great feedback, it helps a lot to hear what are the things you guys enjoy and appreciate so that I can make sure I keep doing that. I have plenty of new ideas, so not planning to give up any time soon :D
Hi Anna I am brand new at macramé. I love your videos. You have a wonderful presence teaching and that helps me feel better about trying a new skill. My first project is just including double hitch knots and your videos have made it much easier to learn.
Halfway through video and STILL NO mention of how to start macro-me??? Get on with it we’re now 3/4 of the way through I’m typing n NOTHING!!! Less of u I’m off!!!
@@annabaginova01 there was nothing regarding even basic info it was all about u etc! Watched to the end came off clicked elsewhere and was already knotting within a few seconds!
Hmmm, I haven't looked into doing subtitles in any other language but maybe that should be something on my list, I already have requests for other languages as well. Thank you for the comment
I can definitely feel it in my hands after spending a few hours on a project. But it would be easy to just do a little part each day and that way the hands and fingers would not get overworked. I would also suggest that you choose some soft cord to work with (for example go for braided cord rather than 3ply).
