I agree with suffering as an opportunity. I was born blind in 1966. I was on the operating table at eight weeks old. I had some side in my right eye happened till 2014. 2014 a cornea specialist told me that my eye was beginning to die. December 15 of 2014 after her decision I made my right eye was removed. I am now blind, and believe it or not my life is better. My wife gave me the strength to go through it. But God was the ultimate to help me through this decision that I made. I am employed, I work for FedEx Express. we worked during the pandemic and I was one of the fortunate people that was able to help keep things going. Thank you Mr. Bernard for this wonderful opportunity to listen and share. God bless you sir. And God bless you Tyler.
I will never forget the day I met Tyler in his first hours in a Thai prison. Thank God it's over and he's home. Not everyone is able to walk this path and not break down. Faith helped in this. I am grateful to God that I have a friend like Tyler, a real man such as you don't often meet in your life. Many thanks to his mother Tracy for her care and help. Tyler, Tracy ❤ . From Russia with big love!
I remember our prayer group praying for this young man. Year after year, but deep down, I could not give up praying for him. What an amazing young man. Thank you for this wonderful interview.
What a courageous and admirable young man - such an honor, hearing his story. And his Mom was so heroic for never once giving up. His incredible strength to bounce back - *and smile* - is truly inspirational. May God bless and watch over Tyler and his entire family, always ♥ Thank you, Maurice ♥God Bless xx
Tyler's story gave me chills. After what he went through and the fact he wants to help others is truly inspirational. I struggle with depression/anxiety & have a learning disability that has made my life difficult. I want to help others too. This made me more grateful for the things I have just as he did when things were really bad for him. Thank you Maurice.
Maurice, you are serving the world through this broadcast. Being guided, held and led by God. HIS will is being done. Thank you Jesus for Maurice; keep healing, helping and holding him in your heart, mind and spirit!!!! "HALLELUJAH!!!!"
I'm watching this now! So far his Mom, she's unbelievably Strong to go to Thailand to continue to fight for her son. I'm waiting to hear Tyler's words. 🙏❤
This was a hard interview to sit through and it made me cry. I can't imagine as a parent what Tracy went through and continues to go through. Tyler is extremely brave and incredible human being. No one should ever have to go through what he and his family went through. I'm glad he is home and safe. Sending so much love and positive vibes to those who are innocent and still awaiting their chance to be saved. ❤
Maurice I cried during the whole interview broadcast it was knowledgeable it was beautiful to see the mom love and strength for her son, you did a wonderful job Maurice👏🏽👏🏽
Tyler's friends who are still in prison, I will hold them in my heart as my way of connecting to their suffering. I pray that this little act of prayer takes away some of the pain they bear and that I am so detached from. My heart was so touched by Tyler's story and what he came away with. God is good.
This episode was amazing... thank you to all three of you for sharing Tyler's story. I'm Catholic too, and this was an astounding example of surrender to God and trusting in Him in the face of the most trying, harrowing, protracted, seemingly hopeless sufferings I've ever heard of. A Mom's love is unrelenting. Tyler and Tracy - you both inspire me... sharing your story can change hearts. I love how you're taking this experience and transforming it to help others in similar situations. And Maurice, thank you so much for bringing their family's story to our attention. God bless you all. Completely overwhelmed.
The tremendous anxiety I felt listening to this video was nothing close to what Tyler experienced. I would not have survived. Not only was his mother his angel but God was by his side his entire journey! Tyler is a remarkable man who has been through a horrific experience and his story will touch so many! Thank you Tyler for sharing and Maurice… keep sharing these types of videos. Blessings to you both!
My God! What an amazing young man. Thank you, Maurice for this interview. I can’t imagine living through what Tyler lived through and he is still able to smile. What a beautiful and genuine smile too. God bless you, Tyler. Your strength is past amazing. Your faith, amazing Grace ♥️♥️your mom, an amazing woman fighting for you, loving you ♥️I wish for you so much joy, love, and success. I will certainly support you in your quest for those who can not fight for themselves. God has blessed and protected you, Tyler. you are awesome and an inspiration and a blessing to all. Thank you ♥️
Omgoodness- Still watching! Bright or dark 24/7 messes with your circadian rhythm. That can also cause delirium. This is making me nervous 😬 I’m over halfway. Love you again for doing this for his amazing family! I’m going to donate and please send my love! Especially to Mama!! ❤️ 😢
Iam absolutely blown away by Tyler’s story., suffering in any way shape or form is heartbreaking. Both him and Tyler Christopher are amazing human beings. This is Maurice’s calling. I love how much he respects other actors. God bless this man Faith is a beautiful thing 🙏🙏🙏🙏🇱🇷
1:03:25 really sums it up. I’m actually re-watching this part to write it down. Tyler used his situation for God! God bless him. If he had died while asking for a Bible, refusing to pray to Buddha and putting the blood cross on the wall? Definite Heaven, dying for Christ! This gave me chills. God bless you and this extremely strong family! ✝️🙏🏼 I’m definitely going to spread the word.
I am in absolute awe of Tyler and his mom. Maurice I reacted similarly as you. I have never been as moved by anyone’s horrific life story as Tyler’s. Maurice you are a incredible inspiration. I live with depression and panic/anxiety disorder. I always feel better about my life after watching State of Mind. Tyler you and your family will remain in my prayers. I will pray your non profit organization is a huge success. Thank you Maurice for being you!!! Always in my prayers!
A poem by Rumi.....If God said, "Rumi, pay homage to everything that has helped you enter my arms," there would not be one experience of my life, not one thought, not one feeling, not any act, I would not bow to. I love that. On a bad day I do what Tyler did.....I look in the mirror and smile and find something to be grateful for. Thanks for this beautiful interview.
I can't believe I somehow missed this episode. Just watched and can't tell you what inspirations Tyler & his mom are and Nickolay! May God Bless & keep you all. Thank you Maurice, you are really making a difference!
Tracey! What a gift you are not only to your son and your family but to us for sharing your strength. Wow. I am shaking with tears just listening to this. Tyler, you already know. God bless you both and the rest of your family. And Maurice! You just get better and better.
Tyler and his Mom are just amazing people! Cannot believe what he lived through and is so courageous to talk about it...So happy you are home safe with your family. Wishing you good luck and good health going forward in your future. I look forward every week to State of Mind... love Maurice Bernard as an actor been watching General Hospital for over 30 years do not miss it every day. Looking forward to more State of Minds and listening to your guests and the interaction that you have with them! Amazing hour!🥰
Maurice this breaks my heart. I am a mother to a son. I would lose my mind trying to help him because of my anxiety. What he and his mother went through was horrific. My daughter’s boyfriend went to Thailand when he was 18. Thank god he came home safe. I want to thank you for this State of Mind that will help so many people to be aware when they travel. ❤️🙏👏
This was extremely important to see. Thanks for sharing his story Maurice! Tyler is an incredible person! And now willing and planning to help others in a similar situation.
What a remarkable interview. Only God can bring you through whatTyler had to endure and still be able to move on with his life. God Bless both of you, his mom and the others who are still fighting for their freedom. I will make a donation to his cause/organization.
@Maurice Benard This was so heartbreaking to hear but thank you so much for bringing this family's story to us. God bless Tyler and his strong and beautiful family 🙏🏾 God bless them all. All I can say is...WOW what a courageous young man, his strength through ALL of this is absolutely unbelievable. Continued prayers to him and his family 🙏🏾
Wooooow! Such a sad but triumphant story. Very inspirational. You can truly see the hand of God through every phase of this. Thank you Tyler for so much for sharing your story. I really needed this inspiration today . After seeing your strength. And what God has done in your life. I guess a lot of us need a good kick in the pants for sweating the small stuff. Thank you so much Maurice for bringing to story to "State Of Mind".Praying for you all.
God is with us, even in our times of suffering. HE will never leave us or forsake us. I pray God continues to bless this family and there endeavors to help others.
Hi Maurice, thank you for having Tyler on State of Mind. I'm so sorry about what Tyler went through. I'm glad that your home. I feel so sorry about other innocent people who are in prison and that they are suffering. Thank you Tyler even though it was very difficult to tell Maurice your story. Tyler may God Bless You and your family. As always Maurice you are absolutely amazing and I'm so so proud of you.❤
I am at a loss for words which doesn't happen often. The content that you put out is thought provoking and life changing. It makes me take a closer look at all of the people falsely accused serving unjust prison sentences. I knew about here at home but was kinda ignorant of what is going on oversees. You sometimes think this only happens to prisoners of war. Everyone needs to see this interview. The next time you want to complain or feel ungrateful, think about what this man went through. I have a 20 and a 23 year old, definitely going to have them watch this. Outstanding job Mr. Benard! You are a brilliant actor but I am more impressed by Maurice than Sonny/Mike. You are changing and saving lives. This young man's story really touched my soul. I have been a huge brat at times and look at what people are going through in prisons around the world. This was an innocent man, unbelievable! God bless you! God bless this young man and his beautiful Mom! 🙏💟🙏
Unbelievable experience this young man went through. Thank you for sharing this. Thank you for State of mind. The strength and faith of this young man and his Mom and family is so inspirational. His story and his lesson on discipline and how he rose above his situation and was able to feel gratefulness is so amazing. It makes one feel that you can train your mind to get through anything. God bless all who are sharing their experiences on State of mind.
@StateofmindwithMauriceBenard This was heart wrenching. I’m happy he is home and good. You should buy his story and make a movie, if someone else hasn’t.
@@MBStateOfMind I watched it and all I can say is WOW! Tyler’s strength, faith and resilience is amazing!! I am not sure I would have gotten through what he did. Thank you for bringing us Tyler’s story. What a blessing for all who got to hear it!
@@tylergerard8642 You are an amazing man ! I can not begin to understand what you went through but God was with you ! Your mom is amazing God Bless you ! Thank you for sharing ...
Wow. I’m late to watch this but it is such a powerful story. The fact that Tyler was so strong to get through what he did to come out on the other side now wanting to help others. I don’t have pity at all. I am in awe. Thank you for sharing this interview. I’m going to share the video with others as well. ❤️
What an incredible good man. Why hasn't one of the news affiliates interviewed him or does he not wish to? I am going to add this to Facebook, his story needs to be shared. Thanks Maurice for doing this. Will make my donation. 🙏🙏
Good job Tyler Thanks for sharing your story. 🙂 Thank you Tylers momma. You never gave up. And thank you Maurice. You always leave me wanting more of State Of Mind. ❤️
He is an amazing human!!! I don't know how anyone could survive what he did and come out an even better man if not by the grace of God!! Faith in God and our savior Jesus Christ is all we need he is a shining example of that Amen!! Thank you Maurice what an amazing Show ❤️
It’s true when they say everyone has a story… Tyler has a doozy of a story… my heart goes out to this young man! I will be saying a rosary for him for sure!! I will also pray for his friends who are still there!!!! I have a story… but, it’s not like his! THANKFULLY!!!! May God bless him abundantly!!!!!✌️
The scars from this can be healed. It's horrific. But it can be healed. That's my calling for the past 30+years. Thank you Maurice for your care of these people and getting the message out.
I knew this would be amazing but it exceeded my expectations. At some points of his story, Tyler's face glows with joy and that's a testimony to his blessings and gratitude. God bless those Russians who took Tyler in and helped him. ❤️
no politics, disagreements, wars, etc. between our countries are capable of breaking our friendship, which has been tested for years and difficult situations
@Annamarie thanks for explaining who he is. I read the description again. I didn't realize he was a "Thai death row inmate actually in not a U.S. death row inmate." I realized later I could've googled him. SO thank you once again for telling me who he was and what he does!!!!!!!
This happens in soaps all the time!!! But in real life? 😣 This is why my mom won’t leave the country and doesn’t want me to either. She’s told me these stories. Now I know why. No 3rd world or communist. This is my worst fear. I’ll travel America, yet won’t rely on them if I’m not here apparently. This poor boy and his family! I can only imagine how hard for his mother! You’re awesome Maurice for making this known! Please find more. Thank you so much for getting this out there! This is so inhumane. Maybe this will get to the Embassy? We’re supposed to care about our own!! 😠
Tyler you may have been a little rascal when you were growing up but somewhere along the way you picked up core values of believing in yourself, strength and the value of being the best version of yourself even in heinous situations. You never allowed your parents strength and love to evaporate. Your fight or die mindset was a blessing. Your smile is contagious and your spirit. Now everyone donate to the Gerald family.
What a courageous and admirable young man It was such an honor to hear his story, His mom never once give up on fighting for her son you both showed incredible strength May god bless and watch over Tyler and his entire family.
The interview talk with Tyler with something not like any other I remember watching feeling nervous and very sad to the point where I shed some tears I part that resonated with me most is where he dove in talking about his belief and how that changed after being impersonated for a long time and yes god gets us through the difficult timings/sufferings making us stronger after we get through it and these difficulties/sufferings are a test to our believes and are not just there to kill us. I don’t care what type of difficult and hard time you been though your a strong and a survivor for have endured it all and for the ones that aren’t a believer begin to believe because of that l. Just know that god loves us all and that everything that happens to us all is cause of his love for us and we should be thankful to him no matter what.
Your very welcome🤲. I should be thanking you for being us amazing and life teaching stories you were great through the whole thing.I know it must have not been easy for you interviewing him because of the personal and vulnerable questions you were asking him and narrating the story real-time to you. I bet made it worst for you but you did it anyways🙏
Wow!! What an incredible and upsetting story. I've always had anxiety and I can just imagine how he was feeling through all this. Terrible. What an incredibly strong man!!! Wonderful that he is home. Best wishes to you Tyler Gerard.❣️🌟✨
Just to be clear, this man was absolutely involved in disposing of the body of Wayne Schnieder - I believe he drove the van containing the body to the initial burial site. He admitted it and was implicated by the bikers who committed the murder. I understand he was much younger than the others and was likely feeling pressured or threatened - but to imply he was completely innocent, and accused for no reason, is totally wrong.
Yes. And the dude was fleeing to Cambodia. What was he fleeing from? And why was he comrade arrested in Cambodia. That said I guess for disposing of a body, he got his punishment.
MAN... THESE S O M GIGS GET DEEPER. TYLER: DON'T KNOW IF YOU'RE READING THESE COMMENTS SIR. IF YOU ARE A PERSONAL THANK YOU TO YOU AND YOUR MOM FOR DISCUSSING THIS HARROWING EXPERIENCE. SHE'S A POWERHOUSE AND YOU DONE GOT HER STRENGTH TO CARRY YOU OVER. BLESSINGS TO YOU BOTH. MAURICE. BLESSINGS TO YOU ALWAYS FOR GIFTING US ALL WITH THESE TALKS OF THE SOUL. "SUFFERING AS STRENGTH" ...
What a living nightmare, amazing interview of atrue hero, who throughout his torture never let go of Our Lord's hand. Phenomenal testimony of his faith , family and you, Maurice.
WOW!!!! I have to say, I am sooo upset at this story and at the same time soooo incredibly thankful and happy. Tyler you are such an AMAZING man!! I am so happy to see you back home and well👏🏻👏🏻God bless you and your family always🙏🏻 and your MOM!!!! A fucking warrior!!!!💪🏻 I have children and I can honestly say that NO ONE better mess with any of them!!! I would fight to the end and thats what your mom did!!!God bless her always🙏🏻 Maurice, thank you for the incredible job you are doing with this show, God bless you and yours always💕 I never miss an episode of GH as well😍
This Is An Incredible Story What An Amazing Man His Mother Is So Amazing It's Such A Gift To Have A Mom Fight Like That For Her Child I Know My Mom Would Do The Same For Me It's So Inspiring Thanks For Doing This Maurice God Bless You Stay Safe
Tyler, do you remember the time when Ev was playing the song "пачка сигарет" ? ) That seem like somewhere in different world now, but we have to try to change something for the guys and girls who is still there. Wait you in Ibiza in two weeks))
What a strong and inspiring young man! So glad he is home with his family. I clicked on the link for the go fund me but got the reply that said campaign not found. Is there now somewhere else to make a donation?
This is why traveling to any such oppressed country even just for the opportunity to see the beauty of it or for whatever reason, is never really a good idea. When you have only ever lived and known the USA it is such a risk to go into these types of countries. The kind of suffering he and his family have endured because of it, I cannot even begin to imagine. But it sounds like he is a very strong human being to be able to even speak at all about the horrors of his experience. But thank God he is speaking out. Because it might help other young people who are thinking of traveling the same way he did to think again about whether or not to take the trip at all. God Bless this amazing young man. 🙏
My heart bleeds for Tyler and his family. Especially his mother, I’m a mother and would fight tooth and nail to free my child. This was always in God’s hands. Tyler I hope you have such a blessed life going forward.
This needs to be told on all the talk shows in tv too!!! Fucken government not helping their citizens. What a shame. Unhook to see your story on all the shows. Dr. Phil, 48 Hours, 20/20, etc…. You have inspired me to fight to keep my kind healthy and to have my faith. You have restored my faith at this moment. Thank you Tyler and thank you Maurice for bringing this to light. Much love from Canada. 🇨🇦❤️
Thank you thank you thank you for....to you all for telling/sharing your story. God said His Grace is sufficient and you're His testimony 🙏🙏🙏. God is truly amazing!!! I also heard you mention not really liking high school. My 15yr old grandson is going through some things. He's not into school and has gotten to the point where he doesn't try. Do you have any advice? I'm also trying to get him Mom to take him to a therapist.... he, like Sonny Corinthos, has seen things concerning his mom and relationships and he has such a poor outlook on adulthood. So if you have any advice for my grandson, I'd definitely appreciate it. Thank you
Tyler and his friend cutting themselves to put a cross on the wall, mirrors: Exodus 12:13 kjv "... the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you...." Great interview Maurice 🏆
