The 1960s has tons of dance and r&b and soul music as well (see Northern Soul, Motown, Brits, etc.). The perspectives for DJs should always go back further with vinyl and 45s. I love your passion for good music. I started to Dj in 1980. I love your selections but when I do a strictly 80s night I would never incorporate 90s songs just for integrity reasons. But playing songs from the late 70s is acceptable like rock with you by Michael Jackson because it was from 1979 but was still a hit in the 80s and charting in early 80s.
