State Surplus Store (Texas Country Reporter) 

My 80 yo father had to fly to a funeral of one of his brothers. He was a pipe smoker, and never considered that his tamper would be an illegal item. Consequently, the last gift his deceased wife ever bought him was 'willfully surrendered' since he didn't realize he could mail it home to himself (he was also hard of hearing, and didn't understand when they told him). I'm sure an 80 yo man will hijack a plane with a pipe cleaner.

My wife had to voluntarily surrender a 1st generation Leatherman tool out of her purse and she felt bad because it was mine. I went down to this surplus store and picked up 2 that were in great shape plus sheathes for 20.00

My late father gave me a double lock blades knife years before he passed. Somehow it got through tsa at KRAP, but on my return flight tsa @ KSAT kept wanding my leather jacket. That jacket had so many pockets, but they finally located it. I was shocked that I had forgotten that it was in there, after all, I was an ex-airline employee. I explained all of the above and that I could not loose that knife. The local police working in the airport went out before the tsa area and got one of the mailing envelope and handed it to me. I was in shock that he did that for me so that I would not have to go back through if I went to get it myself. I filled it out and he took it back out a and I watched him drop it in the bin. It had a tear-off tag with information about the process and to watch for an email. It arrived in the mail about a week later. I still have it, but not my dad. 💞

Surrendered? Don’t you mean confiscated? Nope. Calling them “willfully surrendered” must be what the attorneys make them say, so they can legally keep the money from selling other people’s possessions.

We bought one and it was 4K still had the cage in the back 😂 painted it blue . It lasted for a long time

i used to deliver amazon packages there. The staff is pretty cool. It's close to the airport so that makes sense that's where they get all that stuff. neat!

Last time I went, it seemed like they stopped sorting the knifes. I'll have to make another visit and see what they got.

I knew a guy who used to work there. He admitted that employees pick out the high end knives before the public gets to see them. I have a knife sharpening business and know what the public carries, I don’t see high end knives at that facility. If I do they’re in rough shape and extremely over priced.

They LIKE to say voluntarily surrendered, but I bet a lot of them were volunteered but forcefully or illegally taken.

Tsa stole my leatherman, and I was just there to see my stepson got on the right airplane. I offered to leave the area but the "agent" refused. My guess is her boo got a nice leatherman.

My cousin was a pilot for a major air carrier, and they took his little screw driver he had attached to his keys. Since he was an aircraft mechanic in the Airforce, and the Captain of the plane, he did his walk around, and liked to tighten any lose screws. He said, I have the keys to the plane, do you really think I'm going to hijack it?

Why old anyone just give them your stuff,they have to be sent back to the person,I call it LEGAL THEFT'!!!!!!!! They took my grandfather small pocket knife and he never got It back,they could have put it on the planes cargo and you get it back at next landing but they keep your stuff,legal theft!!!!!!
