End of the Line performing "Statesboro Blues" with special guest Grace Bowers at The Mule House in Columbia, TN on March 3rd, 2023. Written by Blind Willie McTell Recorded, Mixed and Edited By Chase Bader.
I've been playing slide guitar for more than 50 years (played in several Allman Bros copy bands). Duane Allman was my model for how slide guitar should be played. Derek impressed me in later years, but nobody impresses me like the player in this band. He's got the fire and harp-inspired playing of Duane actually turned up a few notches.
Incredible cover! Great musicians! It’s so wonderful to see a young woman like this who is such an incredible musician playing blues and not playing pop music. There’s hope for our country!
Grace Bowers is a genius. Long life I am 77 and intend to listen your music until dies.Go ahead the present is now.I am from Brasil but lived in Mississipi for 31 years.
God! A tight band and that slide is as clean and sweet as it gets. The feel is amazing. GB continues to absolutely stun me. Fantastic performance by a very good band.
Fantastic, the whole band sounded great. Slide guitar was Duane level, Vocals were classic raspy and in perfect key, drumming, base, and keys were complimentary to lay the foundation and work the song. And as I'm finding out, Grace comes through with amazing tone with amazing soul and feel, classic blues and Grasesque licks, variety, and excellent execution to work the emotion. A very special ability, soon everyone else will also discover this.
Grace’s solo starts at 3:22 and lasts till 4:06. Her curly hair reminds me of Robert Plant in his teens, and she plays almost as well as Jimmy Page at that age. 🎉🎉🎉
@@conordyer2307 Thank you for not being a Grace Bowers Fan Boy. I completely agree. She is a one trick pony, that everyone is trying to elevate to some mystical star status. She has potential, but needs the guidance of a professional. She needs to woodshed, instead of showing up and playing at every event she can get on stage for.....Grace does a bunch of "noodling" probably stuff she found on you tube....
Nice! I used to have hair like that. Now it’s white mostly straight and a wispy short mess. 😢 wish we had a band around here playing live that wasn’t country with a broken drummer. Love the slide
Great upload man. I love the blues but I'm getting to old to get out much. I think the Allman Bros were my favorite. I got to see Duane once before he died. Fillmore East was the greatest live record ever IMHO. ✌
PS, hope they come back around to Duluth or somewhwre else close by! Thanks to End of the Line! And Miss Bowers wasn't with them but she's welcome here anytime as well!
She does a lot of "Noodling". Grace needs to get some training, and do some serious practicing....It's not all about playing the same handful of licks you learned on you tube....
Yeah okay cool, bluesy. But here's the thing - don't you folks - including the musicians of course - want them to stretch out and explore more melodic and harmonic ideas than just freakin' blues!? I mean, FFS there's so much potential even if the backing players strip the backing to a vamp over a key centre - suddenly the whole WORLD of possibilities opens up. The modes lay there awaiting your exploration - so many styles, moods and atmospheres await to be conjured up. Imagine if Grace were to suddenly drop off from the 12-bar for a few moments and then re-enter with a volume pedal, swelling huge octave chords as she runs through some dark Phyrgian-Dominant sounds? Anyone? Anyone? Blues is the root of so much cool stuff, but on it's own I find it utterly dull.
Ur born 1982, idk, but, if ur born in the 50-60-70 era, then u would really like it, u like the Allman Brothers? They are gone, but they still jam on the speakers I’ve listened to!!!!!
