Roger was right, it was from Legend 1997 (December 2013). Amusingly this song is about playing hide & seek with an Oni (a sort of flesh eating ogre). The growls are the Oni asking "are you ready?" Yui and Moa calling back "Madadayo" (something like that) meaning "no, not yet". Best metal song about playing hide & seek I reckon.
Just to expand on this a bit... In the US, at least the part where I grew up, when children played hide and seek the person who was seeking was 'It'. In Japan they called that person the 'Oni' or 'Oni-san' (ogre or mr. ogre). Also of note, that growl in the middle of the song that everyone in the west hears as "Bass guitar!!" is actually the ogre shouting "Mitsuketa!" which means 'I found you / it'.
great reaction!!! i really like what you say on this video about Babymetal, they are great and very fun to listen and watch, the new album have some great collaborations , i really want to hear the songs with Joakim Brodén and Alissa White-Gluz!
So much freaking fun. Imagine going to a concert by BabyMetal and being immersed in this. Then go to a concert by most any other band and just……..stand there and listen. BabyMetal concerts are an experience unique to any other.
I'm glad you're coming around to recognizing that, even though Su is central, Moa and Yui had always been very structurally important. Once you get past the superficial, you realize there's something integral about it which is much more than "just three random Japanese girls." There's that combination of personality, energy, and chemistry there which isn't easy to find. One side of the triangle was lost, and it took three more to put it back in place to a properly functional degree. ;)
Thank you for the great video Guys! "I want to hate it, but it is really good!" EXACTLY! So just enjoy and love it. Babymetal is metal in their own way. Who am I to judge? Just enjoy it and being happy.😁
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏃♀️👹 Even now, Su and Moa realize that "WTF?" is often the first reaction that people will have to BABYMETAL. They compare that to how they felt when they were first introduced to metal. Not sure this has ever been an opening song for them, but I might just not be remembering. Not usually though. BTW, the track list for the new album was released. It has collaborations with Tak Matsumoto from B'z, Joakim Brodén of Sabaton, Tim Henson and Scott LePage from Polyphia, and Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy. And of course F.HERO, the rapper from Thailand who is on 'PA PA YA!!.
In order for this concept to work it had to be the Kami band and it had to be these 3 girls to create the perfect storm that no one has been able to stop and now there poised for world recognition and before long they will be known even in the farthest corners of the globe.
Many people may find it boring, but I could watch the girls bouncing around at the beginning all day. It‘s like for a minute they are not Su-metal, Moametal and Yuimetal, the professional performers, but three teenage girls just having fun and enjoying themselves and the loving crowd. You are absolutely right, introducing the Kami band probably was one of the most important decisions Koba made. They definitely wouldn‘t have gotten to where they are now singing to playback.
At first I thought this was another Re-up but then I realized shit you guys haven't done this one. Yet another bad ass old classic song from the first album. When you see and hear songs like this you go from wtf to wow I like this to this is so fucking good, give me more!! Here is hoping we get more new videos from the Metal Galaxy album
@Steve Biko Half of the comments love it and they other half saying how overproduced it is or it doesn't sound good. I hope they realize it is a studio verison and all Babymetal studio versions are overproduced so that when we hear it live it is 100 times heavier. It is a fast tempo and higher pitch than The One so that could be why the english is a little difficult to understand not mention english is not their native language. Yes they have been learning and it is way better than a few years ago but it is still a work in progess. Anyway aside from all that I do like the song with english. It is different and I'm glad to see them trying it out but I think for me personally the japanese verison is better but only because vocally the melody sounds better than english
This song and Megitsune always get me on my feet and moving, lol. Idk if you guys already reacted to these but maybe check out "Chokotto Love" and "Love Machine" by them. They are Yui and Moa solo songs.
I think I've always seen the compilation video for this one which I didn't care much for This crowd was pretty awesome, I bet the Black BabyMetal songs went over good with them
Rates as one of my favourite BabyMetal songs along with many others :-) Grington300 300 has explained the opening lyrics. I will add that when the growl voice says mitsukita, it translates as I've found you. In later performances Moa and Yui say "I've found you" in English at that point of the song. The tours this year have had a rotation of girls to step in to make it three again. It seems that Yui will not be replaced but hopefully, they will continue to use three for all future tours. Just my view but it would be good to let the stand in girls sing with Moa.
Nice to see again for give us another react to baby metal.. Love it n love Baby metal.. I wanna suggest you to react Sis Anger from baby metal. That's death metal baby metal version.. Recommended
What's more metal than playing hide and seek with a flesh eating ogre? Lol. Yeah, thanks again Roger!!! Just kidding! I am biased about Babymetal and I admit it. Really love these girls and the insane band. Thanks for revisiting Babymetal, I really appreciate your reactions and analysis. Kitsune up!!
Oh yeah and if you want to see something different from Babymetal try Onedari Daisakusen. Features Moa and Yui, with a definitely different style and feel to it.
Playing hide and seek with a flesh eating demon, know that's metal!! SU-METAL is our GODDESS QUEEN and an IDOL LEGEND. Its times like this when you realize three kawaii Asian girls are more METAL that you. Remember when your into BABYMETAL your into BABYMETAL 4 LIFE.....
I can't believe it took you this long to do this song. But you definitely chose the wrong version. There are better versions with the Kami Band doing an instrumental intro so IMO is better to hear that and not the 100000 minutes of hai hai hai lol
@Kai Matt Henrik It's definitely better when this is part of watching the whole 'Legend 1997' concert, but it doesn't really bother me. It's concert footage. It's nice to see some crowd interaction.
