Every so often I get a glimpse of a stationary light that flashes in the night sky. It does not move with the stars or anything else. Just pulses non stop all night. @scannerguy1968 @SECTION5120 @deepastronomy
It could very well be a geostationary satellite (a satellite who's orbital period matches the earths rotation and thus remain fixed in the sky when compared to background stars. ) But i havent seen them flash like that before.
There's absolutely no way you could see a geostationary satellite from earth with the naked eye, nor is any bulb/led luminous to see from that distance. Even if it was a huge sheet of mylar, the glint would be too faint to see.
@@leecifer15 the video mentioned that you cannot see it with the unaided eye, thus the use of a camera. You also cant spot geostationary satellites with the naked eye. The flashing is something i cannot explain, but this is most likely a satellite in a geostationary orbit.
Currently I am in tonga. Lay outside last night to watch the stars and I also saw a stationary flashing light. It flashed about every 15 seconds. I plan to look again tonight as it was close to Jupiter I hope to locate it again. Wish I had camera gear to capture it.
I saw something very similar 2 nights ago. In the bootes constellation. 4 very bright yellow flashes in 2 or 3 second intervals. 3 of the flashes appeared stationary, the last flash was a little to the west.
Thanks for this! Just video taping practically the identical thing, I keep thinking, where is someone with a good camera to really get a good shot of this. I am seeing other lights come towards the largest and brightest. They seem to disappear into each other for a few seconds. Everything is zigzagging so definitely not a plane or satellite. Catskill mountains.
Am in Botswana, in Africa. I literally just saw this. I knew i wasn't trippin. I tried googling it but i didn't find anything. Then i searched on RU-vid and found this video. So weird!! Could it be a UFO?
I've seen that, and a few years ago I saw something similar but it shined a lot like a flashlight and quickly went out like a big flash... and it didn't shine again, and my brother could also see it the same day...
Omg i am not sure why im not getting notified when you upload a video. I do have to say i love your videos but these types are my favorite. I live in a very light polluted area so viewing the night sky with telescope or camera is almost impossible most of the time. Ive drove out where theres way less but its still not as good as what your able to view. And by situation im not really able to travel far to view a no light polluted night sky. So i think you for doing these. Now im not trying to be rude but i do like the non ir or night vision videos of the night a lot better. As for the blinking light im not exactly sure what it is but i can tell you i am a firm believer in ufos or life outside of earth. Theres no way we can be the only living thing in our universe. Not only that yours and thousands of other youtubers have shown strange anomalies while viewing the night sky. Im not even sure if you noticed but in this video other than the flashing light you capture other objects. Some people will state meteor or shooting stars but there not familiar with space. Although i cant explain the flashing light i can determine whats what as its in flight. And your video as well as others have caught ufos. Most are thousands of miles from earth. I can tell you meteors, astroids, comets, and even satellites dont make sharp turns or go in reverse. Zx
Are the two stars to the north east of the flashing light Castor and Pollux? I see it almost every night around 9pm in Connecticut. I just wrote this same comment on a different video by accident. But this is the one it’s meant for lol. Sorry. Please let me know if you can🙇🏻♂️
Hey I saw your video because I just had an experience with something like that I was looking up at the stars watching satellites fly by and saw a flash in the corner of my eye and turned my head to look and it flashed again and kept flashing almost every minute I thought it was the iss but that moves this didn't
I recently recorded a very simmilar thing and made a video on it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bbsAA6JuDvo.html I posted it on reddit and the consensus is, at least what I saw, was a rotating geostationary satellite. These are visible around the celestial equator using sensative cameras. Though I have to say, the brightnes of the flashes from an object that far out does seem questionable, I could see it with the unaided-eye.
Something entering our galaxy. Very, very far away and moving very, very fast. The Lord said there will be many amazing things seen in the heavens. Good and Bad. 👍🏻✌🏻🖖🏻
