Ephesians 6:10-18 says, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. The bible is no old book. You have to really let Christ open your eyes; to see the world in shambles. Many people say it's a religion to lock up people in chains, and say it's a rule book.. why? Because people hate hearing the truth, it hurts their flesh, it's hurts their pride, it's exposes on what things have they done..people love this world so much, s*x, money, power, women, supercars.. things of this world. Still trying to find something that can fill that emptiness in your heart. You can't find that in this world.. only in Christ, the bible is no chains, it's a chainbreaker. Breaking your sins into pieces... Repent now, and turn back to the true Lord only.. God bless.😊😊😊
@T4TheTidePod I wouldn't exactly say that, I'd say there was boredom, exaggeration, and coincidences that driven them to call people "gods". It's more of a metaphor than complete fiction. An amalgamation of real details, exaggerated ones, and fictional ones, were used to write characters for them to entertain themselves with. Afterall food production was tedious, and what little effort was left was spent on other tasks, they needed characters to tell stories with to entertain themselves 3,000 years ago
@@pugorilla8848 Well, people back then didn't really care about "History" as what actually happened. They told stories that reflected their world views and explained how things happened and everything, only fairly recently have people started keeping track of real events.
actually in muay thai it's normal for a legend to have more than 200 fights and sparring sessions aren't included as it would even add up more the same goes to boxers and other fighting sports sparring should be manny pacquiao said that in a day he's doing 36 rounds of sparring which is insane
Issue is that moral framework and legal framework of ancient times is alien to modern people Though amy lawyer worth their defree should be able to argue that the statue killed in self defense
Although I took classical literature and humanities classes in college, this is the first time I learned about Theagenes. He must be considered a demigod in Greek mythology, is he? Absolutely interesting piece of info from ancient times. Thanks very much for sharing!👍👍👍
I hope someone takes care of you; your stories make me feel like I have a friend. I think it's because of the classical piano and how you educate me with curious stories, but whenever I'm stressed and you pop up in my feed, I pause, because you're here and I feel sage and therefore ready to listen.
Bro I remember studying this statue in ap art history and it’s apparently depicting the boxer after losing a fight, so I guess theagones got a redemption victory 😂
AndyyJiang is much better than ray William Johnson because he can fit everything into the 60 second shorts while ray make a cliffhanger and wants you watch another video for the full story
I consider The Pugilist one of the singular greatest works of art of all time. It is so lifelike you can even see bruises on his face and veins in his arms. It is both an exquisite example of Classical sculpture and a particularly emotive depiction of humanity.
