Yep everything you said! In fact I have yet to test earbuds sounding better than 3 ANC: this includes AZ80, M4, XM5, Bose Ultra, Elite 10 to name just the obvious… Past sound quality sure they aren’t top but personally when enjoying music the choice is clear: 3ANC! Happy New Year
Then again this was before my PerL Pro came in which deliver a even better SQ! Sure $150 more yet well worth the price. So when need to quickly put earbuds in my ears B3ANC when I got time to adjust into my ears PerL Pro. Perl Pro earbuds are tricky and way too difficult to put in my ears properly thus rather annoying waste of time…
@@reklovjj I’m thinking about buying the pearl pros today. Do you think I should do it or they really that amazing? Once I get your reply, I’ll confirm my order on Amazon, L O L
For those who are still going with the AirPods but still want access to an EQ, if you use Spotify you can use their built in EQ in the settings. It’s not perfect but it’s better than nothing
Super solid comparison. SB3ANC are my faves for sound and surprising fit for the doorbell look. Never used the Airpods Pro, but imagine they have better call quality compared to the Status; but you said it best: if you enjoy Music, the SB3ANC are the ticket. Thx!!
i got the 3anc for christmas and finally just pulled them out about a month ago. they are truly amazing and different from every other set of headphones i have. i'm also like you, i have probably 15-20 sets of headphones for all different uses. the only issue i've found with the 3anc is sometimes you have to adjust the eq to kill distortion. almost every set of headphones i have that are microchip controlled will automatically dial back the levels so it doesn't distort. i do like that about them though. you can use the EQ to fine tune levels to sit just below clipping and get amazing clarity you just can't get from a single driver set. good review, i agree with it.
I got a pair recently. They're very good, but I still prefer the Airpods Pro 2. Yeah, you can EQ the Status ones, but you can also EQ in Spotify and that's all I use for music. I just find Apple's to be more comfortable (although, I bought aftermarket, memory foam tips for them a long time ago), the transparency mode is better, the case is better, they've been super reliable, still hold a charge for a long time etc.
I have had the status between 3anc for about 6 months now, daily. They are definetly the best earbuds I have used. I agree with the transparency issue. I put Comply Medium sized foam ear tips on these like I do with every earbud set I have purchased and it creates an additional layer of sound cancellation that is amazing. The foam tips do squash down a bit when you place them in the case but not the the point of ripping. I have dropped the earbuds in water, and have slept with them in my ears. They did come out but has zero damage. I've stepped on them a few times accidently as well, and i'm a big guy (lmao). I work in a factory where there are loud heavy machinery making noise throughout the day, and these just drowns it all out. I have tried the Isotunes Caliber BT that I use when I need the transparency. (not an apple user here. )They still work flawlessly.
Just the comment i wanted to see. i work in a warehouse with loud machines as well so knowing these work good for that makes me more interested in them now
These underdog earbuds are something elae and going toe to toe with giants like samsyng and apple. I personally got me a oair of nothing ear buds and boy its worth it coming from air pod pros
Just curious, how do you feel the status buds compare to headphones? My gen one AirPods just had the left main speaker kick the bucket so I’m in the market for a new pair of earbuds. I love to listen to music but I’m not going to buy two pairs of buds so they will be used for absolutely everything. Im just wondering if it’s worth it to get proper headphones for listening to music and then AirPods for more general stuff or are the status buds that good
I’d recommend you get the AirPod Pro gen 2 usb c. They’re you best bet for all around buds and they give you improved sound over regular AirPods. You might find the Status buds too clunky even if they sound marginally better.
What if I am looking for the best hands down ANC ? Like quiet everything around me type me. The Bose QCii work better at ANC than my AirPod Pros but how’s the ANC ? Like for real? Mega quiet or just ok ? I don’t care about transparency, only NOISE CANCELLATION! What’s your opinion?
On paper and in my testing. It’s the Bose Ultra earbuds. That being said you might have quality issues with the Bose Ultra and they might fail (buzzing in left ear, music falls out of sync, ear wax build up etc) So it’s a gamble. I still own the Ultra and while I love the fit, I still grab the Technics AZ80 and they don’t disappoint me in ANC.
@@thetattooedguy1413 Just keep an eye out for those issue if you’re in the return period, take action. You won’t be disappointed by the Bose sound and the fit is amazing.
@@Fredo.heavyy Man I’m tempted now to snatch the technics up also. I do stupid stuff like that. I feel like they are the ones I should have went with simply because of the sound experience
@@thetattooedguy1413 Honestly I do the same. I had to slow down on picking up ear buds because I wasn’t being impartial in my review/experience. It’s hard to appreciate something when there’s a “new” shiny model to consider. At least you have it narrowed down to two solid pairs. You might get lucky with your Ultra and have no problems (UK subscribe said their are issue free)
I bought airpod pros with the only reasons being. The transparency and the status buds look god fucking awful. Ik aesthetics aren’t necessarily important and usually to me they arent but in this case they pass the threshold of being a dealbreaker for me. Its a me problem but bro im not tryna have a damn shield from dark souls sticking out of my ears
I have both these.. and many others more honestly I couldnt add anything else to his review 100% correct whatever he said about both :) for listening music in high fidelity zone. 3ANC is kinda unbeatable .. rest of anything else AirPods best in market. for intense music session get them you'll not be regret.. the most loudest and cleanest earbuds I have ever had. but that bass..damn so deep so accurate. 3 driver setup is unusual things for TWS . this is why its chunky needs more room to put all together. one of the BA drive is almost out of bud you can clearly see it when you look close up nozzle its there looking at my face hahaha .the sound is very balanced. nothing less or more overpowering. insane ANC works good yes ambient mode is kinda trash.. app mehhhh everytime manually you need to connect not connecting automatically .. but buds are very comfortable do not worry about the look or size. very nice fitting. in windy weather god helps you as its out of your ears.. letting wind in a lot in even ANC mode. but one trick I can tell to avoid this. turn off both ANC , Ambient mode throuıgh app possible only . then bud is deactivated for mics :D so no wind noise. and increase a bit volume more if you are in noisy condition . done. it has enough volume do no worry
I think the 3ANC fit in an odd spot. If I want to do critical listening I would just grab my HD800s or my Truthear Zero Reds. TWS are more of a lifestyle some content consumption device where airpods excel with their more mid forward sound signature. Now that samsung has released their new pro 3s with a planar driver likely closely following the harmon sound sig it just feels that status needs to either step up their game or face that the market is moving past.
I feel like what status did with these is what apple SHOULD have done with their "pro" version of airpods. The term has been getting thrown around way too much in the tech industry, especially by apple. for that reason, if apple was to add eq, and multiple drivers to the airpods "pro" they would be THE best wireless ear buds you can get (if you have at least an iphone)
Which ones get quieter? I have very sensitive ears. I dislike the clicking/dinging/vocal notifications on the between ANC 3 and i feel like there are huge jumps in volume levels per click.
I love active noise cancelling but if tate has taught me one thing.... its that u shouldn't even be wearing earphones when out for possible danger... u should be alert... just sayying..... JUST SAYYING..
This hobby is very unique and lots of people perceive sound different. I prefer the Tozo Golden X1 for bass, might just be my EQ settings. The Tozo Golden X1 also has better aware mode and app control/support and IP raiting. Price is cheaper also so it’s my winner between those two options.
I do have a question: are the ANC 3s or the Airpods better for running? That’s what I’ll be using them mostly for. I have $500 studio monitors, and a set of open back professional headphones (all wired to my audio interface, wired to my mac), so if I want the best quality, I listen there. I do love the highest quality, but on runs it doesn’t matter as much. Which do you think is better?
Get the AirPod pro 2 usb c over the Status buds. The AirPod pro 2 usb c can handle wind noise better, lighter and better fit, adaptive anc and ware mode.
Havent tried status but to hear apple music, u have to use apple subscription select high quality songs and use spatial. Which is only available to apple product. It makes huge difference to any earphones vs apple earpods with spatial music, well lets say speakers sckss in apple but the hardware and music files transfer and all other tech they use is best in the market,
Idky but I have the pro 2s and my transparency mode like sounds super muffled and bad now. It started off great. Also my microphone in my Right one doesn’t work.
Audio Engineer here: I don’t like using EQs on my headphones or earbuds. Here’s why: When we are mixing and mastering songs, we use EQs to make sure everything sounds JUST right. What does using an external EQ do? It will make incredible mixes sound worse, as it is not how they were meant to be listened to as. Now, external EQs WILL make poorly, or average-ly mixed music sound better. 100%. But that’s because they likely either used 0 eq, or did a poor job on it.
It could depend on what the audio is coming out of as well, not all speakers are the same so adjusting them to get a sound right for you is where eq comes in. For surround sound whenever I get new speakers I love to mess around with the sound cause my speakers are different from my old ones, same for my headphones. Though with the 3anc I don't think I want to change eq cause it just sounds that good honestly. But that's just my opinion, I aint no audio engineer bruh.
The 3ANC are definitely good buds, but all the recent hype is kinda sus. These came out a while ago, but we're getting this sudden surge of reviews for a bud that's almost a year old. I wonder why.... Also, not having any hi-res Codec is weak. Even though the APP2 have weak Codec, Apple claims they can play Lossless music when listening to Apple music, while you're stuck with AAC on the 3ANC. and yes, there is a difference. You cant have "audiophile" quality with pleb codecs
You’re not wrong, they do have an aggressive advertising campaign. I’m using on iPhone with Spotify so codec isn’t top of mind for me. Maybe when I get into DAPs I’ll have a stronger opinion 😅
@@Fredo.heavyy well, and please don't take this the wrong way, but are reviews on sound quality really that dependable when you're working with Spotify on an iPhone with buds that aren't optimized for it? First, no one listens to Spotify for the sound quality. If you're on an iPhone, the only choice is the APP2 on Apple Music due to the earbuds being able to play lossless via some sort of magic apple has done with their ecosystem. Using any other streaming service or TWS on an iPhone is immediately gimping you of any kind of potential high quality sound or experience, and replaces it with mediocre and good enough experience. That's like a high schooler asking a 6th grader to write their book report...they may be competent enough to get the job, but is the quality you're looking for going to be there?
So wait a minute...here you are comparing the two products and you aren't even sure about the specs on the a.p. pros ie the size of the drivers. There's no point watching this vid, you aren't even interested in the product
I just want BIG BASS... igaf if the driver is 1mm or 99mm... if the bass is better... or in this video example the sound is better... idc what spec it has
