In light of recent events, the status of noncompete agreements will be discussed. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a final rule on April 23, 2024, that would have prohibited most noncompete agreements between employers and workers. This final rule was originally scheduled to take effect nationwide on September 4, 2024. However, on August 20, a federal judge in Texas blocked the FTC's ruling, effectively stopping the ban from going into effect. While an appeal is likely, we will provide an update during this video.
