Only one man on the planet was able to play like this, and that was Rick himself. How I miss him, the hero of my youth. Rest in peace dear Rick, enjoy your superband in heaven! 🙏
I have seen them also in 1977 Blue for you Tour and it was my first rock concert at the age of 16 and a half in Passau Bavaria. I will never forget that feeling for the rest of my life. As a present for my 50th birthday i have seen the band again at the same town with my brother and the gig was the same good quality although rick and francis were 34 years older.
Nothing better than 2 heavily modified Telecasters with ridiculously heavy strings played through multiple Marshall stacks. I read somewhere that most of the stacks were just for show, but still!!!😆
Greatest band to ever grace a stage! About this Quo lineup Rick was undoubtedly the best rhythm guitarist in the universe, Francis was and is a very underrated guitar player and deserves much more recognition than he’s had, rhino is a very good bass player and great all round musician, Leon, is a superb drummer and Andy is an outstanding musician and probably one of the most talented musicians in the business. Don’t think there’s anything he CANT play.
Hey, I was there with my wife. 9 years ago. Quo was the best, same as on live aid 1985. ZZ top was closing and kind a boring, we were tired and left before end. Line up was crazy good.
This is the band at about 50% of the energy level the original Frantic Four created. Still watchable but they were never as good without John and Alan.
they are all great! It just depends on what you really like. Old ACDC Highway to hell or Back in Backs sound is not beatable. So is Whatever you want! Go figure...lol
Get your hearing tested ffs .acdc were 10000 times better than quo. Yes quo are great but to say better than acdc is a shocking statement and quo had the American blues rock sound acdc had an original oz sound. Ffs fella what you smoking??????
@@trtr-bc3zl you should listen to the great man himself (Bon Scott) who described how they were going to upstage Quo when they supported them in the early 70’s “we gave it our all, but Quo just blew us away every night”. I saw both in the late 70’s (when AC/DC had got established) and if only had one gig left to see it would be the original Quo every day of the week. What followed is a different story, and AC/DC were certainly stronger than Quo after Spud and Nuff left, but the original Frantic Four have no equal as a live act.
Why? There's always been a keyboard player in the band, whether it was Roy Lynes, a session musician or Andy Bown. There's a keyboard in pretty much every "classic Quo album (1970-1976/77)"!

Status Quo should have split when John and Alan left as the magic both musically and visually had gone ,today nobody new to Quo have ever heard of John Coghlan and Alan Lancaster ,let me stop this crap and put on Dog of two head ,Piledriver ,Hello ,Quo and Blue for you [The real Status Quo].
Absolutely! The current line-up is CRAP! It's like watching a very poor tribute act. Thank goodness the original 4 got back together for some special shows before Alan & Rick passed away. I hate watching this & other line-ups, especially every crappy drummer since John & the very annoying bass player since Alan with his horrible chopped-off bass! RIP Rick & Alan.
No imagination gone into entrance or creating a good one..they could learn a lot from the Stones... would have been better had they had a curtain in front of the band...the intro..then the curtain draws to reveal the band in full flight...far more exciting... They think they are still playing at Butlins I guess
Not the way I remember the stones they often dribbled on to the stage Keef was often late thats the way we loved em didn't give a shit better than the over produced sterile crap today.
This is a very poor line-up compared to the original 4. Dreadful, heartless, boring, lazy drumming! John Coglan plays the songs with feeling & far more energy than Leon. How did he ever pass the audition? I see much better drummers at small local gigs. Pathetic drumming! The bass player is so annoying to watch too. RIP RICK & Alan & shame on Francis for sacking John.
Why oh why do these 70yr ageing rock bands keep kidding themselves that they can still sing ian Anderson is another when he trys to sing aquar lung for fu.k sake give it up and enjoy retirement and stop embracing yourselves.
