I used them a few times. But no more. First time was as advertised. The second time the pressures were not consistent, and I found the shut-off pressure changed. Not being able to trust them, I would always want to recheck manually. Then, soon after that, a valve got a bit of sand in it and deflated a tire to the point when there was no pressure remaining. I learned not to use them while driving, and I never trusted them again.

Copy that. I've had good luck so far - though not with the off brands. Good to hear from you Andrew!

i use the JTBrooks pro easy to adjust dont need to calibrate them they have a lock collar and psi numbers on it just unlock the collar and adjust to the number you want and relock the collar

Only thing i dislike is you can only deflate to a set psi. I like to dial in the pressure depending on terrain

Buy once cry once on this one. That $80 is nothing over the 10 plus years I have had my Staun’s, and they still work flawlessly. I purchased them in 2010 And constantly use them in the Ozarks. Once I hit gravel and then pull them off once arriving to the track.

Daily videos have been great! Pricey fridges and all. Thanks for taking your time and sharing these videos. Never understand why people complain about videos nobody made them watch. Some people are just broken, I guess.

My Staun deflators were tough to calibrate and once calibrated, rarely maintained accuracy. Switched to ARB, and have not even thought of my Staun since.

These were my go to for a bit when I had my FJ a few years back. Now I have the JLUR and others have come a long way. As others have said pressure changed often and adjust was necessary, so the ARB EZ for me now works very well and is cheaper. Don't mind the time spent chatting and also the double check of the rig before heading out. The Stauns I noticed are priced high these days at $75-100 for the set. I will give them the set it and forget it factor for all 4 wheels at the same time (when they are set right and don't change).

I couldnt agree more. I love my no name tire deflators. They work great, everytime i go and are closeish to the psi i want . 20-22 psi I dont know why others use the more complicated meathod.

G’day Just a heads up slight correction on the case material it ain’t leather mate, it’s genuine Roo Skin (Kangaroo Skin) hence you know it’s Aussie Az! Looking forward to testing my set out this coming weekend over at Teewah Beach, Noosa North Shore in Sunny Queensland. Check it out my yankee friends, 4WD and camping paradise on earth.

Not supposed to drive with them on anyway. Not designed for that. If are driving with them on, driving over rocks and undulating surfaces will momentarily increase psi in tyres, causing bursts of air to keep releasing. Drop your pressure with them then take off.
@great0789
@great0789 4 года назад
I have a different brand of the same thing. I just adjusted them all to lower the pressure to 10psi (lowest I will ever go). That way they will release pressure MUCH faster. I watch the tire pressures on my dash and Remove them from my valve stem once the desired pressure is met. I don't trust them to leave them attached to my vehicle though.

I made an automatic change in tire pressure and this is a complete solution. It is important that everyone maintains the pressure, no matter how it is done.

We all know your love for your FJ (and rightly so) but would love to hear your thoughts! Cheers 🍺

I really don't like my ARB deflator. I was using it for the first time and didn't realize I forgot to lock the pin back down and almost lost it at the trail head. Never doing that again. Lol

Why do you leave them on? Put the first one on, set it going, move to the next tyre and so on, and move around the vehicle to the first one which should now be deflated and remove it, then move on to remove the others.

@buttles69

I don't think so. I just let mine hit the set PSI then replace cap. But I have been wrong before.
@MarkAndrewBarrett
@MarkAndrewBarrett 3 года назад
The instructions say not to drive with them on - I don’t drive with on... only takes a moment to take them off and replace the caps. I’d be worried about them coming loose, or malfunctioning whilst driving and letting too much pressure out.

It takes me 10 minutes to deflate my tires with my valve stem remover deflator. So literally just a few minutes longer than using Stauns. Don’t like the Stauns because I have to deflate down to whatever preset I set them for. Sometimes I like to just air down to 20psi and sometimes I like to go down to 15psi and other times I just go down to 25psi.
@iluvfatchicks2
@iluvfatchicks2 2 года назад
You've said Stauns are much better and yet you had to use a tyre deflator just to see what the tyre presssure was, then you use your Staun product. You could use a tyre deflator with a guage and it'd still be quicker than a Staun
@marchayes2943

What a headache to celebrate especially when you have diffrent terain, mud, sand, rock and gravel, plus after a few minutes on the trail with some bumps they do need to be recalibrated so i cant recomend these, dont do it! If you really want something thats takes this concept to the next level and much more easy to celebrate I can recomend JT brooks pro enough, you will never even look at another deflater again. You can thank me in the comments.

I also use the JT Brooks Pro deflators. They are the best!
@JimYeats
@JimYeats 4 года назад
First! Have you verified that they are pretty consistent? How long do they take to actually deflate the tire if you just wanted to wait for them to be done? If you do drive with them on do you have any trouble with them leaking or letting extra air out?
@OverlandBound
@OverlandBound 4 года назад
I would not call them consistent. +- a couple PSI. For long term trail running, I would check the pressure.

About 3 minutes from 40 down to 18 on a 33 inch tyre and that is all 4. I sit back and have a drink while watching everyone else playing in the dirt

You can buy the same tire deflators on AliExpress for $3 a pop shipped. Yes they’d be straight from China. If staun were made in America I wouldn’t be saying this but it’s not so you may as well save 60 ish dollars. They’re all made the same

So, now this channel is just going to be advertisements? I thought explaining what a fridge was bad, but advertising an EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE brand of tire deflators twice in a month, an EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE $2000 battery and an app to access your forums with a monthly subscription? Take some more time off and choose quality over quantity instead of filling trying to fill my time with garbage.
