I don't ride a motorcycle, but this was very helpful as a driver and how to be more mindful as a driver, based on the main ways drivers hit motorcyclists.

Good vid bro. I think you covered just about everything. I was going to mention deer and animals but you did. 👍🏾 One thing that annoys me are these young people on crotch rockets flying down the highway weaving in and out of traffic. They seem to want to mess with some Harley riders as well. I saw this gang of dudes on crotch rockets fly past 4 of us doing wheelies at 65 MPH…. About a 1/2 mile down the road 1 of them flipped over and it wasn’t pretty. Stay safe out there !💪🏾

I agree. They are getting out of hand.

I think all of this is great info...in addition, motorcyclists should also follow the regular rules of the road, because I notice them making up their own rules/lanes, etc. It makes me nervous as a driver. I don't want to hit anyone in these streets.❤

Stay off / away from the damn ALCOHOL. I haven’t had a drink in 35 years and I like it that way. Got away from it specifically cause of riding motorcycles. The stuff will eventually get you in trouble. You see it all the time. I can be a designated driver for friends / family if need be cause I’m always sober.

Hi Brett, Very good advise, presence of mind and situational awareness are necessary to ride safely and alcohol or drugs inhibits both !! When sitting alone, and people ask me why I don't drink, I reply because I'm a designated driver. For Me !!

No matter what you ride take different types of rider training above and beyond the motorcycle safety course. Check out Cornerspin in NC. If at all possible avoid rush hour and riding at night. Spend money on gear even consider a motorcycle air bag vest. Blows my mind people will drop 35k a Harley and riding around in the cheapest gear possible. I 100% agree with no riding if your mind isnt right. If I’m feeling off mentally or physically I don’t ride. That may change on long distance rides because let’s face it we all get tired but I will end a day quick if I get to a certain point. There’s no trophy for pushing things to far. And above all ride within your abilities when your in the street. If you want to push yourself go to the track and learn the skills in a safe environment from people who know what they are doing. As a young rider I learned so many bad things from other riders. Some of those bad habits are so engrained that to these day I will catch myself doing them. I don’t think people realize that motorcycle is an extreme activity. Especially in this day and age with all the distracted drivers.

I got out of my club because they would leave from a light like a bat out of hell mind you it was a 1% club we had members that never been in a club or rode with one then the Prez was like let’s train these guys how to ride in a group I said you know what I’m a ride my own ride you just said it

What I have noticed over the last few years car drivers just don't care they will pull out anyways .also gear up this guy has great advice but no gloves is crazy .no jacket .no armored pants .I have rode 500 k .or so in my life .I think I have learned a little. Practice emergency breaking .think ahead look ahead .expect everyone to pull out in front of you .if you stop at a light .leave an escape path watch behind and ahead.thats my words of wisdom. Lol

Great video Sensei… So many gems dropped in this video, and I picked up a few things that will make me a better rider.. Thank you I’ve recently started asking people about medication that they may be taking. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way when a guy that I was riding with almost went down because he didn’t take his medicine.. Keep up the great work brother ✊🏽💪🏽💪🏽

@@ridefitnation I don't know that it will let me. We are having an online bike show at my channel and I know folks have hard difficulty sharing links, so I had to change the entry process. Problem is, it completely hides not just the link but the WHOLE comment. So, I'll put it in the next comment below this. If you don't see it, we'll know youtube does you the same.. if we do, well then I need to figure out how to change some settings on my end! lol

I don’t do videos, but I do sport protective riding gear to keep me comfortable and safe in changing weather, and if I crash or go down, lessens the chance and severity of a broken spine, shoulders and elbows, and scraping off skin that would send me to a hospital burn unit. I went down in 2010 from a deer strike and walked away with a sprained wrist. My jacket, Kevlar-lined riding jeans and helmet took the beating. I have also known of people who crashed without protective gear (one I witnessed who got his face chewed up -he wore a beanie helmet)and those who survived were in for a long, agonizing recovery, and wound up disabled or losing a limb. To each his own, but no thanks on that one for me!
