I booked for 2 week in Egypt and booked a flight back home after 4 days before I kicked the shit out of one of these scammers, I never got scammed once but the harassment is just on a level that is incomprehensible. Stay away from this country at all costs…. Literally.

As an Egyptian-American I recocgnize that this is not a poverty thing. The harassment and scamming foreigners is culturally accepted. In Aghanistan, they are 10 times poorer and no one harrases you or trys to sell you anything really unless you initiate. It's not poverty, it's culture. Similar to India.
I sympathize with the situation in Egypt, but that doesn't justify harassing visitors or significantly overcharging them, thus tarnishing the reputation of all Egyptians. Such actions erode trust, regardless of whether some individuals are honest or not

It has nothing to do with being young. That's the best time to explore the world But i agree, he must be a little more dominant when he is interacting with this kind of people. Talk in a serious manner, make things from the beginning, not being kind and laughing. But his babyface doesn't help a lot 😂
You can tell he is no good by the way he walks. Those who are too lazy to pick up their feet and scrape their shoes on the road tend to be more indolent or lazy. Anyone who tries to tell you too much that there is no problem or if they say “believe me” or “to be honest” then you know the opposite is the case.

20+ countries and still have not found anywhere with more hassle from touts than Egypt. They followed us relentlessly, and were very aggressive. Too bad as its a beautiful country with many good people!

I was in Aswan visiting my husband's family in February this year for 3 weeks he has a big well known family ( Not scammers lol) beautiful place loved every minute being there away from noisy Cairo 🤣🤣lol @1350LE WTF defo scammers, I'm so glad my husband is Egyptian and takes no shit from these scammers ohh yes they even try it with my hubby lol
