In today's fast paced world, we often fall into the trap of constantly rushing through the day. This sense of urgency sometimes bleeds into our time with God and we may find ourselves in a hurry to end our prayer time and rush off to tend to other matters. As important as those matters are, sometimes we need to constrain the Lord such that even when His Presence seems to be departing our rooms, we hold on to Him and ask Him to stay. When we sacrifice and spend more time in His Presence, we enjoy deep fellowship and receive even more revelation from Him.
Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. But they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them.
