In this vlog, I will give you a full detail about our houseboat "Jamaica" Dal Lake, Srinagar. We were in this Houseboat for 8 days and trust me it was like a second home for us.
A houseboat in Srinagar is much similar to hotels, these floating houses vary in size, facilities, and amenities ranging from luxury to mid-range to budget houseboats. The front part of the houseboat is used as deck, you can relax here and enjoy the beauty of the lake. Next is the living room with antique furniture like sofas chairs, a small library is maintained with old books mostly English novels. These are kept keeping test of guests who want to relax here in a peaceful atmosphere. Next is dinning room with wood dining table and furniture. Chandeliers lighting are kept inside the room giving a high antique look to the room. In our Houseboat there were two bed rooms for couples in which 3 people can accommodate very easily. All furniture inside the rooms are of wood and nicely carving done to give a elegant look. Magnificently stitched traditional crewelwork window curtains are used in all rooms and each room have attached bathroom & toilet.
unlike Kerala Houseboat these houseboat cannot move.

The boat house was too Good and the food was so well made we were speechless and the Aunty was super kind towards my family. It was a great experience and the experience is unforgettable and will always be remembered by us when we hear the name Kashmir.

It was great experience for me too. I had been to Srinagar on around 8 days and was fortunate to get accommodation in Jamaica houseboat. Hospitality provided by Ashraf uncle was truly outstanding and unforgettable. We didn't feel there as if we are guest but rather we were served as family members. Food and breakfast was really great and moreover it was home made. We were not missing home food there. Reyaz organized our tour plan and it was really great. Last two days we enjoyed local market with Ashraf uncle and he guided about shopping especially Dry Fruits. I would definitely recommend this place to explore Srinagar, Gulmarga, Sonamarg, Pehalgaum. We still remembering our daily journey from houseboat to Ghat no 14 with Muzzafar in helicopter (only shikara which had diesel engine in Dal lake). Overall it was great experience I would say.

Awesome experience, we have come after 12 years and got overwhelming hospitality. Awesome food... Shikara motor boat available all the time. Feels like a home. Peaceful place for elderly people and enjoyment for kids with good ambience and amazing food. 10 on 10 on cleanliness. Thank you Ashraf Bhai n family for such a wonderful hospitality....

This is my first experience in a houseboat and 'Houseboat Jamaica' is brilliant. The host was very hospitable and made us feel at home. He took us through the history of the boat and it's legacy. The boat is so aesthetic and perfectly well maintained. The home cooked food was a cherry on top of the cake. Feels like home.. I would highly recommend this house boat to all who want to enjoy their night stay experience on Dal lake.

Thank you for this video for introducing this beautiful houseboat. I just had a day in Srinagar and contacted Riyaz the younger brother of gentleman in the video via contact given in the description. Thanks Ashraf ji and Riyaaz very much for everything. It was wonderful to be on your houseboat - Jamaica. It was an amazing experience overall. Thanks for arranging everything in a short time. It was wonderful to know u all. The shikara ride was just heavenly. The food was great - all homemade and spiced to suit our taste buds. Surprizing for me you also master in continental dishes!! The continental breakfast was so so good and the Kashmiri dinner...simply wow! And the hospitality so so heatwarming. The rooms were warm and cozy. Best of it all...the bedding was fresh - absolutely clean. Actually I was not expecting but I was so wrong! Even the pillows were so clean!!...I mean the actual pillows below their covers!!! The bathrooms were modern and spotless!! With a bathtub and hot water!! The old handcrafted roof and furniture were the highest point!! I also want to add that the surrounding view while in houseboat is as if you are in heaven!! It is as if you are in Switzerland plus Venice!! I wish I had more days. Would love to come back for more days at least for a week to 10 days. I stayed along with my parents in the house boat and what an amazing experience. We stayed for one night and rooms are so well maintained. My family and I are so glad we stayed here in house boat jamaica. They go out of their way to help you. Out of all the hotels we stayed in, this is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. Would definitely recommend and come back. Kashmir has got it's name❤❤❤

We had a similar experience in Srinagar. My husband and I were stuck there for 7 days due to heavy snowfall and flight cancellation. We experienced true flavour of Kashmiri hospitality and warmth of humanity. Still miss the amazing experience with Chicago group of houseboats.

We had a 1 night stay at this beautiful houseboat Jamica 🤩... It was an unforgettable experience! Firstly it is away from the rush area and so we get some peace away from the noise. It was spick and span and very very clean. Had a natural room heater. The people who manage it are very polite, full of great hospitality & took good care of us. The food is super tasty and they ensure they serve you hot food on their nicely placed dinning table. The furniture and wall fixtures are of wood and have beautiful carvings. We had a splendid time here and will highly recommend this houseboat. 😊

We had a three nights stay at Houseboat Jamaica. This houseboat is located slightly away from the hustling part of Dal lake in a part also known as Lotus lake, which gives one a calm, exclusive and private feel. The furniture has an antique touch (some pieces are even 200 years old). The entire houseboat with two bedrooms was exclusively available for our family of four. This, along with the hospitality and warmth shown by Ashraf Bhai and Safeena Bhabhi made us feel as if we were staying as guests in their heritage house. It was lovely chatting with both of them to get to know more about the local Kashmiri culture. The food freshly prepared by bhabhi for every meal was simply awesome (we especially loved the kebabs with gravy!). Rashid bhai's prompt service and amazing efforts on maintenance of the houseboat was very appreciable. Overall, highly recommended for a family stay of up to 6 members, who values a cosy atmosphere that has a homely and heartwarming flavour.

Loved the stay at Jamaica house boat, reached late around 9PM felt scary but its super safe. Trelavelled with my 2.5 year old and we enjoyed a lot. Ashraf and Sakina are great host. Had amazing stay.

Had a wonderful stay at Jamica houseboat !We are from Mumbai and the houseboat had good amenities..hot water,wifi,good service and extremely delicious Kashmiri food cooked by Sakina aunty! Ashraf uncle and Sakina aunty are really warm hosts..overall stay is recommended here 😊

10 out 10 ratings for them. I stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days. They have all basic facilities like wifi,bath tub etc. I really miss Shikara rides to Ghat no.14 with muzaffar bhai Ashraf uncle and his wife who are the owners of the boat and riyaz ji , everyone is so amazing personalities and are very sweet and positive souls. Loved spending time with them and thankyou so much for your guidance of the whole trip. I saved a lot of money due to their guidance. Will visit again whenever possible.

Stayed at Houseboat Jamaica for 4 nights in May 22 with my parents and we really had a good time. We made an impromptu plan for Kashmir and Reyaz helped plan for our tour as well. A huge thanks to him for arranging everything for us in a short time. When we reached the place, the houseboat was beyond our expectations. The location is away from the noisy touristy part of Dal lake. It is so peaceful there and the view is absolutely stunning. Ashraf uncle and his family left no stone unturned in ensuring we had an amazing stay, even amazing food and an wonderful experience in Kashmir. We would definitely miss those daily shikara rides from Ghat 14, the amazing food aunty would make as per our choice and the daily chit-chats we used to have with Ashraf uncle and his family. It indeed felt like a home away from home and I would definitely like to visit again for a longer period next time.

Really had very majestic time on houseboat Jamaica for 3 nights. They are the best host and made our trip very comfortable and remeberable for lifetime. Riyaz bhai was really is the best guide and the host for us to plan our kashmir trip. Ashraf uncle and Aunty has taken a very good care of us for 3 nights, they are so warm , so hopitile and kind. Aunty has served us ghr ka khana far from home. I will definitely miss this place and will come again in Jamaica houseboat only. All travellers should definiltely visit. Genuinely.🥰 Review- 4.5/5

Hi guys.. A wonderful tour to Kashmir started with stay at Jamaica Houseboat situated at peaceful & serene location of Dal Lake, Srinagar. Our stay at Jamaica Houseboat was really a pleasure with tasty dinner and breakfast, having homely feeling. The owners couple and Riyaz Ahmad bhai were so nice at the services to manage the tour. Shikara was available on time all time for to & fro through the Dal Lake. Very neat & clean accommodation in this Houseboat providing free Wifi facility, hot water, dinner, breakfast, drinking water is free as part of the package, morning Tea was served 2 to 3 times before we proceeded for day long tour to Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Srinagar local etc.👍My Family's special & sincere thanks to Ashraf bhai, Shakina behan and Riyaz bhai for making our stay & tour so nice, comfortable and full of Enjoy.🙏❤🌷

Yrrr aplogo ko Mobile phones se related bhi details dena cahiye .. Jamu kasmir me post pad sim use hota hai... Even other state k log wha new sim khrid bhi skte... Bht dikaat hua tha hme whaa...7 din ka trip plan kr k gye the 3 din me hi waps aana Pda..

I cannot stop thinking about Jamica and my time here. 1. This houseboat is not on the commercial side of the dal lake. It’s on the private part of the lake. Hence, as far as your eyes can see, you don’t find another houseboat, except of course Ashraf uncles house (which is a house boat itself) 2. Sakeena aunty makes the best food in whole of Kashmir. Period. Next time You are there, ask her to make her famous Chicken seekh kebabs. Heaven! 3. Since the houseboat is far away from the front side of the lake, you enjoy the long shikara ride from ghat 14, via Meena bazar to the jamica.. and that ride you friends is good 20 mins, and it’s the best part.. the shikara is rowed by a best shikara guy in whole of dal lake, so you are in good hands.. One day we were riding back, the weather got bad, and muzza bhai brought us safely to the HB.. I didn’t panic for a second.. 4. I stayed at Jamaica for 4 days, and I got a gist of their lives, like vegetables vendor came on a tiny Shikara selling veggies to the locals living at dal, the garbage guys also came on their shikara and collected segregated waste, milk man too came early morning on his shikara.. 5. Jamaica is meditative.. I would suggest next time you are in Srinagar. Spend two days atleast in Jamaica.. not two nights.. 2 days.. sit on the porch.. and reflect your live.. looking at the beauty of the mountains and lotus farm.. hearing the chirping of the birds and breathing unpopulated air..

What a beautiful stay we had at this house boat ..we just stayed for one day here but this house boat deserves more days from your itinerary. And they provide very delicious home made food. We had the best food here in our entire Kashmir trip. Owner uncle and aunty make u feel like it's your own home. It's a must stay...

Had a excellent stay in houseboat. Home made food and the people who are incharge took care very well. Safety wise excellence. Wifi available and hot water 24 *7 too
