There is a youtuber who posts as "Solo Travel Japan" who spends a lot of time on ferries and other forms of transit. He is also VERY fond of his food and one learns as lot about Japanese food and geography watching his vids.
It was kind of fun to walk around in your room outside never got a chance to do this before. I noticed many people doing that beforehand before I ventured out 🙂
That looked like a fine way to travel. Much better choice than the train I think. Always nice to see menus with photos to choose from when you don't speak the language. Think the room with the balcony is the best because you can sit and enjoy the fresh salt air. Hello from beautiful Corvallis Oregon.
Travel by sea is so wonderful. And to be able to get up and walk around, take a sauna. That's perfect. I will keep this in mind if I'm ever in Japan again.
Tim what a great way to add to ur adventures. I love this Ferry and u on it, to show us there r other ways of travel than flying. I just loved all the food choices/options u had. Thank u so much for sharing with followers and me Hahaha. Warmly Cookie K 🤗
Great video Tim 👍this ferry brings back memories of the Royal Caribbean ship, but without the all-inclusive meals. It's such a fun and relaxing way to travel 😄There's something truly magical about a late-night cup of instant ramen 🤤
It is interesting to see you on this ferry. You have a room with 2 beds. The bathtub comes with a hand held shower head is super cool. It is very seldom that you can find a hand held shower head in even the expensive upscale hotels or motels. The other thing is there don’t seem to be a lot of passengers in the cafeteria or other areas of the ferry. You seemed to have ate breakfast, lunch and dinner with no one around to have a conversation with. I guess that is fine since you were doing the RU-vid video for us to watch 😃
It wasn't a full boat, but there were a few other people, but not too much. Kind of fun to travel by ferry and it was quite relaxing. I think this is one of the few days that I ended up not talking very much to people. Most of the passengers on the boat where from a tour and most don't speak much English 🙂
That looked like a fun and relaxing adventure! You're the only guy who can have a cup of instant noodles, and make it seem like a gourmet meal lol. Cheers Tim :)
You certainly opened up the vid with a beautiful trip on that ferry. I put this vid in the top 3 that you have allowed me to view! Thank you for all your time and effort!❤
Hi Tim that’s a nice ferry experience you had, the package is a fair deal I believe. The food is great, it looks quite tasty. Glad you had a great experience
Thank you for showing & sharing this 24 hour Ferry Ride with us.. it's another unique way to travel but your Food excursions and amenities is wonderful to watch.. it was interesting to see you walking around the Deck in a robe looking for Instant noodle. Show how comfortable you are when one is hungry !!! Thanks for this Video !!
It was quite fun exploring the ship.. however I do need to mention that I have noticed other people wearing the rooms around. I would normally not walk around in a robe outside 😉
Thank you for taking me on your journey on the Ferry while your in Japan It looked very relaxing! This is a trip l would love to enjoy. The views are nice. And it is nice that they have a arcade room. Glad to see you enjoying yourself! Very smart to have your Google translator.😊❤
@@TimLeeLetsGo I guess the ones I watch don’t show it. I love watching them. You should hook up with one of them and do a ferry ride or buffet. Some of them have buffets.
This was so grand, Tim! Your videos are so relaxing and personal. I’ve watched lots of videos about Japan and this was my first time seeing a ferry like that. What fun!😊
I discovered Japanese ferry's during the pandemic. An account called Solo Travel Japan has a channel that highlights his travels on the different ferries. I always enjoy your videos Tim and I'm glad you had a safe trip.
Tim: very good idea to take this ferry! Pricewise it's not a bad deal for a single room without balcony. The food prices & quality were decent. It seemed quite relaxing with plenty of space & few passengers! No rush, no fuss! I've taken several Japanese ferries and always had a pleasant experience! And they're all so, so clean!
Thank you again! A bit of a different video this time but kind of enjoyable to travel. The cost of the food on the ferry is definitely very affordable... good experience
I love these ferries!! But I have severe motion sickness so I will never ever experience them. So thank you for letting me live vicariously through you!! 👏👏👏
what a nice adventure at sea...and it looks like you ate well enough...I was just talking about breakfast curry with a friend this morning he was stocking up on his favorite Japanese curries when we took his daughters on a trip to an Asian grocery for a little shopping run and some lunch here in town...no sea view but it was good.
Fun! I am a big fan of Japanese travel videos, especially the ferries and trains. Shin Nikonhai is the ferry line, you showed the name of the ferry in the beginning. It looks like such a fun, relaxing way to travel. The room was very nice too. From what i have seen from being an armchair traveler, Wifi on Japanese ferries is almost non-existent.
It's a wonderful experience to travel overnight on a ferry. There was a ferry with lots of vending machines but no restaurant. And the last one I rode had a buffet, not a lot of choices but the food are delicious. The trip I really enjoy was riding those trains going to remote or rural areas. Fun to meet people and beautiful scenes around Japan. 👍 Now, some rural areas have Costco and fastfoods like here in the US and I had fun with their 7-11 or any convenient stores. 😁
Wow! A buffet on the ferry 😃... Definitely a nice way to travel and it's nice to explore on the train as well. I got one of those Jr passes that were kind of nice to be able to travel anywhere 😃
Hi, Tim...Wow...they call that a ferry 😮🤔😂...the lobby was exquisite, looked more like a cruise ship...have a great time in Kyoto....safe travels and God Bless 😘🤗❤
You are amazing...you have a similiar reaction to an expensive buffet and also to a simple cup of instant ramen! My daughters favourite Japanese food is ikura. Mine is salmon sashimi. I love chashu pork in ramen.
Thank you so much for your kind comment. It’s just a lot of fun to visit and connect with everyone here no matter whether it’s food or other travel aspects.
Hi Tim...My goodness that's a pretty fancy ferry....I took the ferry from Bellingham Washington to Sitka Alaska and back....not as fancy though....Take care God bless
I'll be on that ferry in October. Going from Maizuru to Otaru. Can't wait. Is there any official merchandise? Like the coffee cup. Would love a souvenir.
The overnight ferry seems like a fun little break from the world. Also, I've found Japan, to be very visitor friendly if you don't speak the language; especially since it's common to have photos of available dishes:)
I used to take the Kobe to Matusyama ferry in the 80's. I don't think it's necessary anymore. That was a party ferry. The best one is the Shimonoseki to Pusan, Korea express! Party on Garth!
FYI Tim - In Japan, most accomodations are charged by the person. You paid $240 as a single in a room with 2 beds. If you were sharing this room, the second person would also pay $240. That is, $480 for two people in this one room. Kinda sucks.
I'm not sure about that. I watch Solo Travel Japan and he is always traveling by different ferries, and from what I have understood, he always pays the two person rate when traveling in rooms, there is no single rate on double occupancy. There also aren't any single rooms on most ferries, they're all double unless you book a pod or a space on the floor.
