Hey Sarah, checking out your channel after the meeting with the Shorts community manager today. You have an impressive spread of travel destinations here! Great energy and awesome production on this. That last meal looked amazing!
I stayed here couple of months ago. But the dinners a la Carta was always booked by 9:00am so the 3 days no carta dinner. Only problem! But yes I'll be back just not that hungry 😅
I traveled three times solo at Carribean resorts a decade ago and I wouldn't do it again. It's a personal opinion, I just prefer sightseeing over beach, but that's me. Also, I got sick twice during those three times, my stomach is really sensitive. It seems whenever I eat outside of North America and Europe, I always get sick from whatever I eat. Not sure if it's a coincidence, but it was so bad, I left my room unlocked in case something would happen to me during the middle of the night :( It was scary. It's not fun when your totally sick and your out there on your own too. Luckily, nothing bad happened, but it was scary healthwise. I never experienced being sick like that ever since I was a kid and got sick in Venezuela.
Yes it is for sure not a fun experience to get sick alone. I got pretty sick in Colombia and it wasn’t fun. The toilet was my only friend. But I did like that I could just hang out and not worry about finding food or anything. However I do prefer traveling in other ways to meet locals and connect with the culture which I think is missing at these resorts. I suppose these types of resorts are for just relaxing and having a beach holiday to escape the winter.
Did you feel safe Sarah as a solo traveler in Punta Cana resort? I am wanting to go alone in October, but I have heard that women have been raped in the resorts.
I felt safe. I felt like the resort I was at was pretty family friendly. I don’t drink and try to take precautions but I felt fine and met other women traveling there.
