Staying at Completely Private Room in Absolutely Clean and Amazing Price Hotel 🏨🫖☕️🚿

About the coffee, you could make it better by : 1. wetting the coffee grinds first with hot water. stir it if possible. Cover with the strainer side on the lid at the back for a sealed brewing. 2. Pour the water in a circular motion. it doesn't need to be at a high place. this makes it so every bean is agitated evenly. (from the video, you can see some coffee grinds at the bottom. which is why its a bit pale) 3. 2 minutes 30 seconds is good IF the water was just boiling. 3-5 minutes is more optimal if you are using water that has been left for a while but still hot. (4 minutes is my favorite ) 4. when pressing the plunger, do it slowly making it fast may let some grounds in to the brewed coffee. making it slightly gritty. lastly, for people buying coffee beans, try to avoid flavored coffee beans. Those ones is usually the old coffee beans that was flavored to mask the older stale flavor of beans. Instead just buy fresher unflavored one and just add the flavor your self. It will be more flavorful that way.

Looks like you got the right amount of coffee for the French press, I'd fill the carafe a bit more.. perhaps pouring the water from a high point helps move the grounds so they're emersed well, I stir my grounds before I plunge the filter..... Love the chanel 🙂

French Press coffee is best at a temperature of about 198-202 F. In addition to the froth, pouring from high cools the water a bit.

Its probably poured from up high to better stirr up the coffee grounds. If poured from right on top it could have an air pocket or a clump of coffee grounds that would make it less efficient.

Seems like people have commented about the coffee, but I have more familiarity with tea. Not your fault, but the hotel is missing quite a few key pieces to making more authentic tea. There are two methods of brewing tea, the Western Style and the traditional Chinese way 功夫茶/工夫茶 or Gongfu tea with 普洱茶 (Pu'er tea). I'll be speaking mostly of the Western Style because traditional Chinese tea is much more difficult to do. There are 4 main types of teas leaves: Green Tea, Oolong Tea, Black Tea, and Herbal/Flavored Tea. Each tea leaf type has a specific amount that should be used per cup of tea (6-8 ounces), a specific temperature to be steeped in, and a specific time it needs to sit in water. Tea leaves can be used multiple times (this is known as multiple infusions) before the leaf loses potency, and using this method makes sure the leaves always give the best taste. Another thing to note is that tea leaves can be re-used using either Gongfu or Western Style. It depends on the leaves, and some may taste better the more times you reuse them (generally 2-3, but some can last 8 or 9 as well, it all depends on the flavor). Two of the biggest problems with the hotels setup is the lack of an infuser. Tea leaves need to be placed in an infuser and then placed inside a pot with the hot water, not boiled together with the water. Why do this? Well, when tea leaves are steeped too long you lose the flavor and it becomes more bitter. This is especially true of more fragile leaves like Green or Oolong. The second problem is you need to rinse the leaves. This is also known as "opening up" the tea leaves because tea leaves are dry and when placed in water they expand. The first steep of leaves is a "weaker" flavor and is thrown out and not fit to drink. Another reason to rinse tea leaves is to also clean it. When preparing raw fruit and vegetables for consumption, they are generally rinsed with water. The same applies to tea leaves to get rid of dust, pesticides, and bugs. For example, Earl Grey is a type of Black Tea and for 6-8 ounces it should be steeped at 95 degrees Celsius for 3-5 minutes (depending how strong you want it). First rinse the tea leaves for about 30 seconds - 1 minute and pour out all the water. Afterwards infuse the tea in water for the time and remove the tea leaves and serve. Earl Grey should taste pretty weak from my own experience. The aroma is the strength of the tea not the flavor, so I wouldn't reuse the tea more than two or three times. Another tea I saw they had was Jasmine which is one of my personal favorites. Jasmine tea is a type of Green Tea and for 6-8 ounces should be steeped at 80 degrees Celsius for 2-3 minutes. Rinse for about 15 - 30 seconds. I find Jasmine Tea can be reused about 3-5 times before it loses flavor and it's one that I drink regularly. For personal preference, I tend to find Oolong the best kind of tea, it's aromatic and also has balanced taste. Green tea is also good, but tends to have a more earthy vegetable taste. Black tea is either very strong or aromatic, never both. Herbal tea I'm not a fan of.

As for the US such places will get mistreated and trashed. There is a just a lack of respect for public use area like hotels, restaurants, parks, anything that's self-service always gets abused and trashed...so sad. People here are very self centered and feel they do whatever they want to because they have the right to. I see this everywhere I go from small towns to big cities. People will take advantage of anything offered for free.

I saw this hotel in Agoda. Every time I see the word "hostel" or "capsule" hotel, it means sharing bathrooms & kitchen, so I skip them due to these places lacking privacy & it is still Covid. And despite it being a very small space & having to share with other people (with the bed the only non-sharing thing), these hotels are still expensive.//It seems that hotels in Japan don't allow windows to be fully open. Strange. Probably afraid of guests jumping out due to the smallness of the rooms. 2000 yen per night still lose to hotel room in Thailand.
