The Mirage is a classic! Coffee in Vegas is the ultimate problem, because you almost never see a coffee maker in your room. I had a friend who when he drove to Vegas would always bring a small coffee maker.

This is the best room review I have read. You gave so much good information about everything in the room ( fridge, ports, layout, etc) Those are all questions people have before they get there. Good on you for actually touring the room! The safe in a drawer is a big one, I probably would have had to hunt for that. Some reviewers just turn in a circle and pan the room and call it a day. Really appreciate the in depth look. Breaks my heart Mirage is going down. So much history there. A Hard Rock hotel, modern and huge, big guitar shaped building is going to look terrible there. Modern in the middle of old school hotels/casinos is really going to change the optics and feel of that area. Word is they are flattening the whole 39 acres and building from ground up 😭 Hard Rock has been looking for on strip land for a long time, I just wish it wasn’t the Mirage land they got. Thanks Jay!

the mirage is where i have stayed my last few times in Vegas. love that hotel. the staff there is what makes your stay seem special. great location too.

Thank you Jay! Yes, the Mirage is classic. I remember the year it opened and everyone was staying there, and that Volcano show! Going to miss it when the Hard Rock tears it down and builds their new hotel. One of the reasons I think that new properties like The Virgin and Resorts World are struggling is due to the lack of Vision! The MGM Properties are all themed. They are fun to visit and also to stay in. Where else are you going to watch a volcano erupt with massive crowds, and then do it all over again with more massive crowds?! Only in Vegas, Baby! CAB😍

I always enjoy the rooms here. I get comps and discounted prices on weekdays. They do have a special floor called Stay Well if you want a more restful sleep and shower

Mirage is awesome. Watched LOVE there twice. Ate at The Pantry. And ate at that sandwich place and drunk ordered a pastrami sandwich that's like twice the size of my face! Been staying there for decades! I'm going to miss it when it becomes a huge guitar...

Mirage is our favorite and has been for 20 years. The tower suites have refrigerators. Like that the casino is on the small side. Yes, you got to try that Dole Whip -you can get it alcoholic or non. CostA (Italian restaurant is very good). My favorite place to watch the volcano is exactly where you said, too. So sad to see the Mirage go.

I love the Mirage I wish more people liked it. It’s a really great property and I don’t think it should change as much as the idea of a new hotel is cool and all. Stayed there this past year and it seemed well kept cleans Nd busy so I’m not sure why Mgm feels they should change it. They shouldn’t have bought Cosmo and just fixed what they own!

Jay you should travel with an extension cord and also clips to keep the drapes shut so if you need to sleep in you can without having the sun peeking through .

I grew up with The Mirage, And it was a really great hotel. MGM Resorts International Made a mistake Selling this hotel. This Hotel is Iconic! Hope they don't Break this Down.

The rooms haven't changed in over a decade since I first stayed here. It would be a huge improvement if the new owners went beyond just new paint and wallpaper. As for the volcano, it will probably become a CVS, Walgreens or Rite Aid like the rest of the strip.

Never stayed at the Mirage but last time I saw the volcano show it started snowing. Never knew it snowed in Vegas. My favorite hotel so far there has been Ceasars Palace. We got a huge suite with pool view. Circus Circus was not a good experience for us but TREASURE Island was good. We want to do Venitian and Mirage eventually. =)

I just bought a $30 portable fabric cooler specifically for trips to MGM properties in Vegas. Best purchase ever! I just need some cold water and milk when I’m there.

Mirage is such a nice hotel. Sorry they are getting rid of the volcano once it becomes the Hard Rock. Hope they put something just as good to replace it. A big guitar alone won't cut it.

Lucky you, thank you for sharing. Changing Las Vegas from classy to trashy…really sad. I hope they will keep the Beatles “Love” show and showroom, also “The Secret Garden. Love them all and want to take others., however can not return until COVID is over. Thank you.

Or you can put the drinks in the bathroom sink and fill it up with ice so if it melts it drains and no worry about the mess

Hey Jaycation! Do you know how to get a resort tower king room with a strip view? On the mirage website you can only book either Strip View OR Resort tower king - but not an option To guarantee both. I guess maybe just try the $20 trick

The front of the new hotel will be a multi-level guitar shaped property. Very sad it is planned to take the place of the volcano. I really hope they keep The Beatles “Love” show and showroom, the sound is wonderful, also “The Secret Garden” should be kept as both were created by icons of the “Rock and Roll” Era. Really think this is a resort Las Vegas will miss.

I'm staying there now, and I just love it. I wish they would just refurbish it and not change it . By saying refurbish I mean refresh there's nothing wrong with it as it is. The thought of that ugly looking guitar shaped hotel is just awful, taking it from classy to cheap.
