I’m new to watching this guy. So far I find that he puts ( the technique ) very simply in words and actions

"Very simply" for the pro golfer maybe. Yikes.

Great explanation. Another thing I figured out that I was doing was not keeping my spine angle. Being very focused on trying to keep the spine angle through the swing has given me more consistency, and I only have one swing thought!

😂😂 dude he's using a wedge so you have to keep your mind from thinking about the driver movements. Unless you don't know that the woods and irons are different techniques

Chris is unlocking Pandora's box of what separates good players from poor players and answering the question to why every pro has a unique swing!!! then provides an easy to repeat drill to change your pattern!! BY far the best 15 minute video on the subject I have seen online... hundreds of dollars on paid video courses. Thank you Chris!

chris first great Video I am going to be working on this the rest of the summer. but 1 thing as to I am over 60 I tend to to have my toes stick out because my ankles hurt if I don't will this affect anything ?
@MyGolfDNA

You should be fine to splay the feet out slightly if that helps you keep pressure off the ankles.

I battled early extension for years before Chris helped me overcome it in 2020. This lesson combined with the “Stop turning” (throw your right arm) video sums it up perfectly!

Excellent once again!! Thanks !! - takes so much time and effort to master this move - but it has to be done!!! - and can be done now!! - it's like weight shift, lateral and rotational movement with lower body (knees and feet) and hips - all in co-ordination - has a massive effect on club path- I've been practising this like mad without a club and it is finally coming to be ingrained - But has to be done right!! - Thanks Chis once again for showing the right way to do it!!!! :)

This box drill, defining the forward move-pelvis as no-go zone, and noting the rotational moves(not sway) appear to dampen the early extension/off plane downswing. Lesson was good, a bit long & wordy!

I’ve shot 41 for 9 holes and the next week shoot 50. My problem (or so I think) is early extension and over rotation. I took 9 months of GOLFTEC lesson with tons of diagrams, percentages and analysis but no training on how to actually fix my swing. Nice to see actual game changing training.

I appreciate the way you break the movement pattern down to its foundation and then build it up again to finish with ball strike.

Hey Chris, so what you're saying is although we want the weight to be in our ankle, that doesn't necessarily mean to fully use the heel? I have a little trouble staying down in my post up move, but a lot of that was going past neutral joint alignment (for YEARS) and over clearing the hips. I'm finding it easier to find my target open angle while keeping my shoulders level and getting to there and posted up by the time my hands are at my right leg (man that's different) but i still get some depth of divot or barely at all (but getting better). I'm trying to keep my entire right side back except for rotating my right leg but without pushing off. (Just to let you know what I'm not doing..lol). But i use the heel a lot as there isn't much under my ankle except the heel.. should i tone it down and go a little more on the toes? This would help me push my hip back more and not up so much right? I have a question about external rotation of the right arm but I'll ask that later somewhere else. Thanks Chris.
@MyGolfDNA
@MyGolfDNA 9 месяцев назад
Based on what I am reading and visualizing here, I would say YES, tone back the weight moving into the heel. Ideally, you want it parked under the ankle at post up but always error to the heel side if you are going to error (to protect the knee). It will help the hip rotate properly. The hip is moving up and away from the straightening of the lead leg which is a biproduct of you using ground force and rotating the hips from the lead side obliques. Not sure if this answers the question and if it doesn't let me know and ill add more if needed. Ask away on the external rotation...

I feel I can roll the trail ankle when I don't load the trail leg much,like with my irons. When I load with a driver where I feel compression in the crease of my trail leg I feel I have to push off my trail foot to release that preasure. Any comments on these 2 ways to transfer to the lead side
@MyGolfDNA
@MyGolfDNA 8 месяцев назад
I want you to use the trail leg with your irons and woods really and especially with a driver. We just dont want that push movement to be overwhelming and cause the hips to chase forward or get slid out past neutral on the lead side. If you're counterbalancing it from the lead side you should be good to go. Irons we have more of a speed limit so you can use more of the roll to help get things jumpstarted. Hope that helps and makes sense.

Both your feet seems to be perpendicular to target line, so can you help to explain if I have my leading foot open like Rory and others have both feet slightly open. Thanks
@MyGolfDNA
@MyGolfDNA 10 месяцев назад
Great question...splaying the lead foot out is totally fine if you have limited mobility in your hips. Opening the foot up will allow the hips to rotate open more which can can be pretty helpful to those that need it. It should NOT impact your ability to be able to do this drill properly. Hope that helps.

Hi Chris I have been researching the golf swing for the last 20 yrs. I have always said there is no turn in the golf swing. The turn happens but it's not what the golfer needs to intentionally activate its a by product of trying to strike the golf ball. I love how you deliver your golf information please be blessed and continue the fight of changing the minds of golf instruction and delivery.

I’m sorry, but I disagree. Making a big athletic swing with the driver is very different from a controlled chip with a wedge. Making a pendulum motion with the putter is also different. What is important is to develop a centrifugal action that is repeatable. There are many games in golf, therefore the need to learn several types of centrifugal actions. Golf is a hard game.
