I remember staying in this hotel en route to Huddersfield to attend an open day at the university. Pretty sure I stayed on something like the 7th floor and used the stairs the entire time. Personally didn't have an issue with the breakfasts.
@@everydayimeating3407 I think they are at least European anyway. I had the same reaction as you, only the other way around. I didn't think they had them in the UK 😂
A fair review. Over the years I’ve stayed in many Accor brand hotels including Ibis, Novotel, Mercure, Pullman and Sofitel, going from the cheaper to luxury, I’ve only ever eaten in Raffles, but not spent a night there - it’s a French hospitality group and in my experience you get exactly what you pay for, no more no less. Ibis is a bit too budget for my tastes (I’ve stayed in several in different countries) and I’ve never stayed in the super-budget hotelF1 (used to be called Formule 1 I think), Mostly I’ve stayed in their mid scale Novotel or Mercure brands, occasionally in their premium and luxury brands Pullman and Sofitel. The higher up the scale the larger, more comfortable and better equipped are the rooms and add-on facilities. In the days when I had a dog one of the great features in almost all their hotels is that the dog could be in the room with you and in France in particular could accompany you to the restaurant (not in Spain though). Apart from the UK and the two countries mentioned, I’ve also stayed in Accor hotels in the UAE (Abu Dhabi), Morocco, Thailand & Singapore.❤
@@everydayimeating3407 Yes, I lived outside the UK for around 25 years & travelled a lot both for my work & on vacation so apart from much of South America & the southern half of Africa I’ve been many places - hopefully health will allow me to rectify those omissions before I’m carted off to the “knackers yard” 😉.
Almost every chain of hotels has good ones and bad ones. Depending on which hotels you stay in you will be impressed or unimpressed. So you can’t judge every hotel in a chain’s portfolio the same.
