Thank you for your continued support! I'm sure I'll let you and the others on RU-vid know how the competition went in a future video. The results will be released on December 18th, but I am sure my update video won't be until January, as Christmas will be around that time. Thank you also for all your nice words regrading this composition. I'm glad you weren't able to spot the mistakes! I was hoping they wouldn't be too visible. Also, there's no need to feel a rush in commenting; I read all comments regardless of when they're posted (sometimes RU-vid doesn't notify me though, in which case it can take months for me to notice comments on older videos). As you can see, it took me a few days to get back to you here too. But I try to respond to everyone for as long as I can! I'm glad you liked my composition ^____^

That's a nice catch! It is a very different piece, but it definitely shares a similar energy. I wanted to write something that encompassed the competition. It also happens to be in a similar scale for the most part, as I find versions of A major to be somewhat easier than others to play quickly. That said, this piece has more of a (sped up) waltz rhythm to it, which was a fun challenge! Thank you for watching :D

Haha, yeah. There were some spelling errors in there, but it was also a bit theoretical! What I'm trying to say is that you're right in that there are some similarities between the Olympics piece and this one, but that they are also very different :D Thanks again :3

Waaah, thank you for the excitement! It's getting me pumped up again too :DDD I'm glad I made it to the finals too. I've been working hard this year, but regardless of what happens in the finals, I'm happy that the competition has allowed me to develop so much once again. I am not planning on creating a patreon or anything of the like any time soon. That said, I do want to build my own website, as well as build one together with Jordi, for our project, Phoenix Up. We like to compose music for all kinds of projects. That's what the new computer will be used for, as well as just composing for fun. If I end up winning the competition, all the price money will be used for that purpose too :) This composition is indeed lighter than the previous one, very intentionally so. It is actually rare for me to write anything too happy, even if I am a very happy person. As you could tell, there are all kinds of emotions woven into this piece as well. I'm glad you enjoyed the mix of feelings! I am very happy with the final title. It didn't reveal itself to me until after I had finished the entire piece, production and all. But the themes and intentions behind the title were there in the piece, ofc. Sometimes that's the way it is! This composition is definitely about commitment, to many things. That's a great word to sum up the meaning behind the piece, actually. Commitment and resolve are very necessary both in love, and in overcoming challenges. Thank you for the in depth analysis of some of the sections in the piece! It's very fun to see how other people hear my music. It allows me to listen to it again through a new perspective (even though much of your interpretation doesn't differ greatly from my own). I suppose that to me, the composition signifies personal growth, and all that goes into it. But even more than so, it's looking back at all the things that happened during that growth, and the people that were involved, that are in focus. As for the cranes, a friend just gave those to us a few days before we recorded. That musical heart symbol is also one of her creations :) Thanks again for leaving your thoughts, and sorry for the delayed response!

@@ShadowDreamer Still finishing listening but I just want to say I really hope your dreams of composing for more video games and animations work out - once you two have a new computer :P And best of luck finishing your masters/postgrad school, so you can finally teach your own classes, no strings attached haha (*yes, pun intended) :P Edit: woaaaaah, too close, way too close! and congrats on deservingly getting there to the final and reaping those rewards of getting 2nd place, i'm sure they'll help :) in any case, yours and the other contestants' compositions are amazing so it's no wonder it came that close, even if the styles are really different, but no less creative :)

At the end of it, it's precisely what you've said, what's important it that the competition propelled you (a plural you) to develop so much once again! For now it's probably better to rest and just enjoy the holidays, and think about creating that website come January. But that sounds awesome, make no mistake :P As for the explanation about the final title, yeah, it really is like that sometimes, you need to finish a project and put all your feelings into it, till you can actually name what you've come up with...and...kinda came on it's own :) So the word "reveal" is that appropriate to what happened ^^ p.s. that musical heart symbol is also lovely, your friend is quite talented! all this said, thanks Alex for allowing me to have an insight of two of the things you consistently put your heart into: your relationship with Jordi and your relationship with music - may they keep getting stronger with time :)

Thank you again for the kind words! The new computer is happening soon. I am currently negotiating with a company about the price, but I am sure we will soon reach an agreement. I appreciate puns; the worse the better ;) And yeah, very close indeed! I am glad that I like my opponent so much, which makes it an easier loss. Now, I am excited to eventually get back to orchestral and other composing on the new computer :D
