It is highly likely that there are several sources to Ste’s anger. He may be angry at the Maaliks as a result of what he perceived Misbah did wrong when Tegan got hurt. Another source of his anger could be Harry who was cheating on Ste with James as Ste planned their wedding. A third source could be anger at himself for not preventing Tegan’s injury when he pushed his cheating husband (Harry) out of the way instead of pushing his own sister (Tegan) out of harm’s way.
Ste has been angry most of his life because of his upbringing and the abuse he suffered. He's tried to control it through the years with anger management classes, etc., but Tegan's death apparently sent him over the edge again. It's going to take a really strong wake up call to set him right again. Maybe the threat of prison will do it. With his criminal record he's walking on thin ice.

I take exception to what you wrote when you state "most of his life" and "years with anger management classes." When you write "the abuse he suffered" are you including the abuse he suffered at the hands of Brendan? I do believe that Tegan's death was a blow for him; could the fact that he had slept with her boyfriend made her death even more of a blow? I do not believe he is over the edge just yet. Yes, he is angry but his anger at this time is not focused on an entire class of people; rather, it is focused on a family and I do not believe he is angry at that family because of any ethnic or religious reasons. Yes, Stuart and Jonny are moving Ste in that direction; they are not there yet. I agree that it will "take a really strong wake up call to set him right again." Perhaps the threat of losing his kids or being sent down will do it. According to spoilers and rumors, Harry will talk to Ste.
