I really liked this episode. When James listened to the message Harry left him and when they talked on the phone later on...their love is just always palpable even if they're not even in the same room. Also that reveal was pretty epic!
Quick observations 1. Watching James collapse inwards on himself while listening to Harry's messages was heartbreaking 2. How can nobody tell that Harry looked like he was walking down the aisle to a prostate exam? 3. Gotta love when Zack is the voice of reason 4. Wouldn't it just be easier for Tony to marry Ste? He clearly loves him more than anyone else on the show 5. Oh God the reveal - loved it! Similar to John Paul/Ste but so appropriate!
This broke my heart but it was so good. The Jarry angst so good. Zack was brilliant and basically saying what most people were thinking. I'm glad it's out now and in a way I didn't expect, very excited about tomorrow and hopefully the start of Jarry.
This whole build between Ste hay Harry Thompson and James Nightingale was everything. All the Beats was played for this buildup. For almost 4 years the groundwork is been laid for Harry and James this was a slow build for The Showdown and this was everything. The evolution of Harry Thompson and even James Nightingale they grew up. Harry is not that boy from boarding school who grew up to be a grown man but still learning to find his own voice. James from a manipulative lawyer / pimp who involve to a man who actually got a heart and who is capable of loving someone.
its amazing how much the past look different when you look at it with this new lense.have been re-watching jarry from 2016 and it amazing how much chemistry they had even back then but i just dismissed it because i never thought they would mount to anything,i just thought james will be this bigbad who pokes on starry and creat drama for them,but it turns out jarry was the slow burn of the ages.
Harry and I have very different memories of how Amy's murder went down and Ste's "forgiveness." Like vastly vastly different. Maybe he was watching a different show than I was???
harrys views is so clouded by his guilt ,i mean he does now know the truth but he believed the lie for so long and suffered consequences based on that lie that its hard to reconcile the truth for him,he still feel guilty for Amy's death,i really believe he need counselling ,this is not the first time he as spoken like he killed Amy.
When Ste thought Harry murdered Amy he basically told him to get lost, and even when Harry confessed (after a rather long convoluted story of not being able to because he couldn't go to jail & becoming a prostitute) Ste only came to saw him in jail once to ensure he plead guilty and pretty quickly fell in love with Ryan and forgot Harry. To me that whole story killed any potential Starry had (though I was never a big fan) and after everything Ste's done he really shouldn't be throwing stones at glass houses from glass houses & all that.
@@sarahstewart7923 Harry basically thought he killed Amy and was willing to make Ste go to jail for it. That's basically what happened. Ste has done some shitty things but his reaction to what Harry did was understandable at that time. Even if Harry didn't kill Amy in his mins he thought that he had and with that knowledge he knowingly made Ste get arrested, spent time in jail, got shot by Amy's crazy mother etc etc etc..
Sarah Stewart I’m neither a Starry fan nor a Jarry fan(for I think both relationships are toxic af), but being someone who rewatched hollyaks in the summer, some of what you said was hella wrong. First off when ste found out that Harry “killed” Amy in the court case, he forgave Harry and still wanted to be together, until he got shot and when his kids went to see him they coincidentally said how they didn’t want to be nearby the person who killed Amy, which is why Ste ended thing with Harry. But even then he still kept Harry’s “secret” and even if Ste did tell harry to get lost from the get go, can you blame him? I mean Harry did let Ste rot in jail for 5 months leading to him getting hospitalized multiple times and getting shot after being found not guilty. In the episode when harry confesses Ste was actually willing on supporting Harry and visiting Harry as frequently as possible, but someone stopped him, can you guess who? Why James of course, James told Ste off saying how even if Ste can forgive Harry , how can Ste ever forgive himself for supporting the man that “killed” his kids mother and how would his kids ever forgive him. Ste pretty much used Ryan as a distraction to cope with the fact that he couldn’t be with Harry, and honestly Ste wanted harry to live and be with someone else If Ste was to have been found guilty. Tbh Hollyoaks pretty much aired Ste and Ryan as fan service for ever since Ste got out of Jail, many people wanted Stryan to be a thing, which coincidentally the people that wanted Stryan are Jarry fans who are using Stryan against Ste at the moment. cesar marquez Thank you! I wish everyone that watches this video would read this comment. I’m not a fan of either but I just feel like Harry and James are happening because fans want it to. Plot wise it doesn’t make sense. Especially when Harry has been denying this man for almost 3 years then randomly develops feelings, when he’s finally about to get married to the man he’s been with this entire time. The whole idea of him “changing” also seems like a cheap excuse because, if we’re being honest, nothing about Harry’s character has changed. The only thing that has is that he’s randomly developed feelings for a man over night that he had 3 years to give a chance.
If I was a Ste fan or a Starry fan i'd hate this: it sucks that they were married like this. Harry only married him because James was too late. He settled. Not denying he loves Ste but in love with him? he's not: "I can't help loving him(James)" "If he shows up I'll run away with him, there's no contest." I'll admit that Harry is a coward for not being honest but hey you can't help who you fall in love with. And James is that person for Harry. LOL at Ste finding out about Jarry the exact same way James found out about JP and him: karma. Now what will happen? all I know is that Harry better not die and S/tarry better get divorced.

I remember that. I totally agree with you. ste was a mess. he had no justice for Harry's emotions, did bad behave all the time. all the time he ignored him. That's why Harry's love diverted to james who actually love Harry. Ste deserve this.

I'm a Ste fan and a Harry fan. But I'm not a Starry fan anymore. Starry has run it's course, imo. James and Harry have amazing chemistry. Similar to what Ste and Brendan had back in the day. And you can tell Ste never treated Harry like the love of his life. Nothing like how he treated and reacted to Brendan. And what Harry had for Ste was puppy love from the beginning, but Harry has grown and changed as a person. He's no longer that teenager that fell hard for Ste. Harry has made some really bad and selfish decisions, but it's a soap opera, and if you're on a soap opera long enough, you will inevitably make bad and selfish decisions.

Brendan is messed up because of his past but he has shown feelings of guilt, empathy etc just like James so NO you´re wrong. He showed Ste feelings of regret, love and guilt towards his sister and took the blame instead of his sister who killed their father!! So watch up to misuse the term PSYCHOPATH if you are not 100 % sure what you are talking about!!!

I started watching this show because of Starry so I should be so happy that they're married. Unfortunately I'm not. I love James. I think I always have. It might of started from sympathy for him but nonetheless it's love. I completely understand him and his temperamental ass. It comes from a place of hurt and pain. I just wanna hold him and let him know that he's loved. But will the writers let them be happy together? James started conspiring against Harry and Ste with the help of Romeo. Harry isn't going to be happy about that.
The real victim here is Harry. Being suffocated more and more over the three years period by Ste, being his emotional sponge. It's no wonder he fell for more mature James who at the first seemed the perfect relief for Harry, but seeing this and all other connected plots, even James showed his true face and agenda. Plotting to ruin Stu & Harry's wedding is no more than jealousy, in other words, he was so obsessed with his own well-being that he did everything to destroy it. Selfishness from both of them. Harry leaving this shitty village is the best thing for this character. Now, Stu true colours will resurface once more and James will drown in his own spiteful urge to have Harry for himself. There is no room nor for Starry, nor for Jarry anymore. And hopefully they'll throw out that James character. Don't like him. He came like a snake in the birds nest, and did.... Well we saw everything. From my point of view... Goodbye James.

All the Harry hate yes what he did is wrong & I wish he would have just manned up and told Ste that he's in love with James. But, have people forgotten all the people Ste has hurt in the past because he's selfish and only cares about what he wants? Let me see: Noah,Doug,John Paul and Harry multiple times. Two, no three of them he screwed over because he wasn't sure who he wanted to be with. Did people forget he was gonna leave Harry for John Paul and then realized that whoops he wanted Harry after all. He hurt both John Paul and Harry(James to an extent too) during that time. So I can't help and think this is all a bit of karma for him. Hate Harry all you want but don't make Ste out to be this perfect saint because he's not. All 3 have made horrible, mistakes hurt others and each other and can be vile people at times. No one is a saint here and no one is a victim either. Oh and let's not forget how Ste hurt Tegan too when he was screwing her murderous boyfriend.

Harry was living on the streets because Tony nor Ste wanted anything to do with him believing that he killed Amy. James was the only one that continued loving him and visiting him when he ended up in prison. Ste is the epitome of selfish but Harry should die cause he's a cheat and can't make up his mind????

Chase- Thank you. I completely agree. I can't stand Harry anymore and despise jarry. As bad as Starry got and it did get so bad, the toxic relationship that is jarry makes me puke. I can't respect a character like Harry that could love a man like James and how they came about. Hopefully and eventually, jarry will go the same way that Starry have.
