In terms of being a good boyfriend Doug, JP, and Harry were all better than Brendan on paper at least. But in terms of how much Ste loved them and how much passion he showed, Brendan was first (by far), Harry 2nd, JP 3rd, and Doug last imo.
Brendan did beat the hell out of Ste. I was saying "on paper", they were are all better boyfriends. In real life would you let someone treat you like that? The manipulation and the beatings? But in terms of "the story" Brendan and Ste had the greatest, most loving, and most passionate relationship. And I believe Brendan is the love of Ste's life based on the show.

Brendan wasn’t the sweetest guy but damn I loved Stendan especially after that trip to Ireland. Also she totally forgot to mention Doug you know his first husband. Imo Doug was boring asf but he was an amazing husband. He sacrificed a lot for Ste. He even let Ste so he could be with Brendan. Ste just falls in love fast, easy and hopelessly. Every time someones bring up Brendan you can see it in Ste's face how much it hurts him. He might not have truly loved Harry or John Paul, or Doug, or Ryan, but he loved Brendan. And you can just see it as soon as he is mentioned.
on a different note, Ste really did love Brendan, the rest will always be second place but I don't think Ste's ever been with someone he didn't love. Maybe with Ryan there is something else to it, like the connection to Amy and the perfect family idea with the kids. But Ste knows how to love and what that is. Yes he has cheated on almost all them one way or another, a part from brendan, but he does love so that was an unfair comment to make.

I used to love Ste, what have they done to him. I miss Harry though, shouldn't he have some scenes with either James or Tony. I feel like the soap is dropping the ball a bit on this storyline. Though the upcoming grooming storyline sounds interesting.

This make no sense whatsoever. Ryan being with Kyle, and not Mike, parts of that night, does not prove he killed Amy - it only proves he wasn`t with Mike. And it having been a year since Amy`s death, those voicemails would no longer have been on her cloud, the phone subscription having been inactive for more than 6 months. Therefore it would have been impossible for Thorpe to recover Amy`s voicemails now. His colleagues not having followed up on it last year, those voicemails would have been gone forever, and Thorpe would never have found out Amy knew about Ryan and Kyle. The case would have been as it has been for months now - and the only people who could claim Ryan was implicated in Amy`s death, would have been Tegan and Kim. But since Tegan`s injuries were thought to have been the result of a suicide attempt or drunken accident - and the fact her anger over discovering Ryan and Ste were together - could reduce her credibility as a witness. Likewise Kim`s history as an uninvited house guest in the Osbornes` attic, could undermine her claim of having been kidnapped by Ryan. Especially seen in the light of the fact it was Glenn`s workers who locked and sealed her inside that room in the school, a version where she hid in the school, just like she had hid in the Osbornes` attic, and by accident had been locked in by the workers, could have established reasonable doubt about her claims Ryan had kidnapped her. It wouldn`t have helped Tegan was a colleague of her, either, opening the possibility she lied to help Tegan get revenge on Ryan for having cheated on her with her own brother. Besides, neither Tegan nor Kim could prove Ryan killed Amy. Their claims he had admitted as much to them might not have been admitted in court, cause those claims had been found to be hearsay. But even if they had been permitted introduced as evidence through testimony, the question about both Tegan and Kim`s credibility for the reasons I outlined a little further up, could mean the court would not find their claims solid enough as evidence to dismiss all reasonable doubt about Ryan`s guilt. At the face of things, Ryan looks to have had a very good chance of not being found guilty of either of the three crimes. Prior to his clearly premeditated and intentional killing/attempted killing of his uncle, he could even have had the option of an insanity plea - the defense pointing to the fact all three acts were motivated by the irrational fear of being identified as gay, happened on impulse and without other intent than to prevent the victims from revealing Ryan`s gay secret. Referring to the fact that since Ryan acted very organized after, and in between of, the three crimes, despite all the crimes clearly had been committed by someone much more disorganized and acting on impulse. Proving Ryan had not been his organized self when committing the crimes, and therefore had to have been temporarily insane when conducting the illegal acts. But with the level of intent and premeditation this scene reveals, that insanity plea wouldn`t be an option to avoid being convicted of what he did to his uncle. Which is why it makes no sense Ryan would kill his uncle at this time. Not only is his uncle the only one who both knows and understands him, Ryan would have a good chance of not being found guilty on any of the charges, provided he either refuted Tegan and Kim`s claims the way I described further up, or he went for an insanity plea. For a police detective to not only ruin his best chance of being found not guilty, but killing the close relative who has been like a father to him, makes no sense at all.
Marlon Wallace I fear they are obeying the desire of the viewers for him to be without redemption. Which is something I am very skeptical of, since few Hollyoaks viewers have the necessary knowledge of psychology and law to judge Ryan and his actions fairly. And by seeing their condemnation of him being justified in story line development, it could color their view on real life cases too. Thinking of Ryan when hearing of similar incidents, and jump to conclusions about both guilt and sentence as a consequence.
I really wish you would stop coddling Ryan he's a murderer there are so many people out there who afraid to come out but yet they don't murder people to keep their secret as for Kim hiding in the school the same as when she hid in the Osbournes home why on this earth would she do that she's got a good relationship and was making progress and she hid in the Osbournes home to be close to Esther there's no reason for her to hide in a high school get real and see Ryan for the awful person he is
Wendy Denning Ryan is a fictional character, not a person. And as a fictional character his character development and story lines can either be convincing - or less convincing. Because of the way the story lines has been written - and the reason he both killed Amy, attempted to kill Tegan and kidnapped Kim, was because they had discovered he was gay, a knowledge Ryan was unable to handle anyone having about him, the fact all three crimes were impulsive, motivated by the same need to prevent the fact Ryan himself was gay from being known, this strongly suggest the latter was what triggered Ryan`s actions. And since being gay in the UK hardly is a secret worth killing for, the fact he still did so goes along way to prove he was not in control of his actions and thoughts when he committed his crimes. More suggesting Ryan to have been temporarily insane at the times he committed the crimes, than that he is the monster you yourself, and many others seems to believe him to be. Consequently I believe sending Ryan to prison would be a miscarriage of justice. Ryan cannot be held responsible for actions if he neither is in control of them or have the power to stop himself doing them. The issue isn`t, as you claim, Ryan`s homosexuality. The reason Ryan over many years have built up such an irrational fear of his entire world being threatened, should he be found out to be gay, is the trauma the combination of being discovered with a male by his father, and the fact his father died later the same day, which forced young Ryan having to deal with both guilt and shame , which over the years gave life to this enormous, but irrational, fear, which gradually took over his entire life and personality. Ryan neither intended for this to happen, nor was he able to prevent his irrational fear. Therefore he cannot be held responsible for his actions, due to temporarily insanity. Had Ryan killed Amy, harmed Tegan and kidnapped Kim after thorough planning - so called premeditation, I would have agreed with you he would not have been temporarily insane when committing the crimes. But the fact all of those three crimes were spur of the moment acts, while he afterwards - to cover up what he had done - could be very organized indeed, proves the disorganized part of him to be linked to the irrational fear of being exposed as gay. making him temporarily insane, and to lose control over his actions and thoughts, whenever his irrational fear was triggered. That fear is what makes Ryan dangerous. Had it not been for that fear, he would have most likely have been a happy gay man, living with Ste and the kids. i judge the story lines and characters based on how authentic I find them being depicted. There is a lot of what we have seen Ryan do in the story line, which I believe he never would have done in real life, had he been an actual person. One of them being killing his uncle. Since I don`t see Ryan, nor any of the other characters, as persons, I can only relate to the story line and character as works of fiction. And as such they can either be of a higher or lesser quality - not good or bad. In fact I strongly believe only acts can be good or bad. Therefore I don`t believe there are good and bad people, only good or bad acts and deeds.Good people are, just as Santa Claus, a myth to make us feel better as individuals, but which doesn`t really convey much truth about the world we live in.

Doug was Ste's first husband and he loved Ste so much he (Doug) gave him (Ste) up at the airport. No one comes even close. At least there are some who are willing to publicly admit that. Thank you.
Doug letting Ste go was an amazing act of love. He made the right choice, he knew all a long he was ste's second choice even if he was the saver and better choice. But Doug deserved to be someone's first choice, sadly he died before he ever got to be. I think none of Ste's later Bf's fit because as Kieron said: Ste's looking for something that will fit the hole brendan left, but nobody is like brendan, so he goes from one to the other, looking for the closest thing.

I love how everyone is afraid of going to prison always saying how they can't handle it yet it doesn't stop them from comitting violant crimes. They are all so bad ass when they are comitting crimes but when they facing prison then the tears come. Ste talking abt rings and comitment with Ryan ugh really what is wrong with him?????
