"Snitches?" Stuart and Johnny has basically been holding Jed hostage, controlling his every move and thought - even deciding who the poor guy has been dating. He has every right to free himself from their grip anyway he can (within the boundaries of the law). If Stuart, Johnny and more has done something they shouldn`t, that is their fault and responsibility - not his. That Ste is too stupid to realize that he has been caught in the same web, is his problem - but it doesn`t give him the right to cause problems for someone who only was trying to help him, before he too found himself in the same trapped situation Jed himself was caught in.

Sorry for laughing, but that is just ridiculous. It is fiction. They could have made Ste beat a troll toothless, if they wanted - or had him kill one of the dragons from Game of Thrones, had they had HBO`s permission to use the character. There is no correlation between Ste`s strength and any injuries the actor playing Jed and the make up departement of Hollyoaks had managed to create the illusion of on screen. Besides, as a 65 year old muslim proved in Norway last week disarming a 21 year old gunman, strength and age is no match for decisiveness and determination. Any idiot can kill someone, if their desire to do so is great enough. Likewise any idiot can believe himself strong issuing threats, or using brute force - until the day they either face someone smarter, stronger or more ruthless, when all of a sudden they become the victim.

Nor is it the first time koma5694 addresses the subject of Brendan. My replies addresses either the lack of authenticity in Hollyoaks storylines, or the glorification of violence and psychopathic characters. The reason for that is that I see evidence that fictional characters and their behavior and language influences how people act and behaves in the real world. Especially since the construction of fictional stories often involve good vs evil characters, many viewers have an understanding of the real world to be the same. While in fact people are people, and capable of both good and bad acts - sometimes even at the same time. So instead of focusing on characters as either good or bad, we should focus on the acts and behavior in themselves - not allow them to define or re-define our impression of the character as such. By focusing solely on the characters, viewers and commentators on uploads like these contributes to spread hate and lower the repulsion for violence - even promotes violence to solve conflicts, by calling characters names, suggesting they should be killed, or telling everyone how much they hate that particular character. Contributing to a colder and harsher world, where violence and force are seen as strengths - while compassion and understanding is considered signs of weakness. Despite the reality it is exactly the other way around. Those who take the chance on not killing their assumed enemies, are the brave ones - but also the most sane. As long as we accept people`s right to be totally different from ourselves, but still of equal value and with right to the same respect and freedom as ourselves and our friends, we need not see anyone as an enemy. Provided they shared the same respect for us, and recognized our right to be free to live our lives as we wanted, too. The narrow-mindedness of only seeing people as either good or bad is dangerous, since it makes many people be more guided by their fears and prejudices, than by moral and what is reality. Prejudices blurs the lense to reality, and fears make people see ghosts and shadows where there is non.

Sad that he will probably have to leave with the end of the extremism plot. A shame as he and Chris Simmons are very effective in this story. I remember a young Ray Quinn in Brookside and he was a very good young actor.
