You actually made it look pretty easy! I suppose, the idea for big factories/companies is that if there is less lubricant (on the threads or in the bearings) one needs to be more attentive to their gear, and care for them with more frequency and diligence… Most of us have a tendency to care for our precious things the same way you do! Thanks for taking the time to do this and sharing your knowledge as always!

When should you replace the bearing?

@@tomselbeck generally if there is physical damage. If the bearing races or balls have worn down so there is an unacceptable amount of play, if the bearing has developed divots or flat spots, if there is galling or corrosion on the bearing so that it is uneven in its spin, or has sticky spots.
