The news is full of Shit.. Argentinians are struggling but they are proud..and refuse to fail...IMO..best country in South America..and if you get down to Patagonia..the people are unreal welcoming.
Hola.
Yep. King Kamahameha I, rightful ruler of Hawaii, was the first foreign authority to recognize and sign a treaty of peace and commerce with Argentina in 1818. In the meantime Captain Bouchard conquered southern California for Argentina, raised the colors and then left pursuing more adventures. In fact the Argentine flag still waves in Santa Bárbara along with the flags of 11 other nations who once occupied that land. Hope you had a good time in Argentina, my friend. @@RetireandGo
Some friends just flew from Buenos Aires to Sao Paulo, Brazil and said they experienced Sticker Shock from the difference in prices! Argentina seems like a great tourist destination right now.
We have been in Argentina for five months of the last 12. We love so many aspects of the life, which you have touched on. We are in an expat early retirement, living frugally until Social Security kicks in. The US isn't conducive to the life that we desire. Argentina (for those who can bring US dollars) is amazingly affordable, healthy, vibrant and interesting.
@@RetireandGo We rode our bicycles to a lovely simple lunch in a vineyard, today. $14 inclusive of drinks. Making a coq au vin for dinner, with organic chicken for $1.50 a pound instead of $8 in the US. We'll have another gorgeous bottle of wine for $7 instead of $30-50 in the US.
Great video! I've been to Argentina four times, twice in 2023. I plan on retiring to Argentina at the end of this year. I'll forgo the Argentine steaks as I'm vegan. The high rate of inflation in Argentina actually helps expats. I visited Argentina in March 2023 and then again in September 2023. I noticed that prices were much higher in pesos in September than in March, but actually cheaper when I converted the prices into dollars or pounds.
Love the street dancing, you can tell that Argentina is a classy place. I like the unbiased comparison with the US and yes I agree, western media portrays the country as an economic wasteland. Great to see your videos
Love your videos! You remind me of someone who has been doing this for the last 45 years! Yes, you do. And that’s me! I have been traveling, studying, living and working in four continents and over 75 countries! And I am not done yet! God bless you 🙏🏽🫶
What a hoot! Bernardo’s was my go to restaurant while I was in Buenos Aires for two months overlapping with your visit. Perhaps I can treat you to a steak dinner or two somewhere on the planet. My current plans will find me again in Buenos Aires in December and January upcoming. Thank you for your excellent videos. I am very glad a friend commended me to you and I have caught up watching nearly all of your productions
Nice channel and video. a couple of years ago I took early retirement and am loving it. later this year my wife and I will spend a month living in BA and a month in Mendoza, neither of us have been in Latin America before and I can't wait.
@@RetireandGo Hi! I really enjoyed your video and I agree with some of your thoughts, not all. But, the capuccino goes better with some of our local pastries like "medialunas", "Vigilantes" or "Sacramentos"...I'm sure you'd love it. The empanada is more like a local fast food or maybe could be eated before the main dish like that asado of your video. Anyway, you need to taste "chorizos" and other local dishes. Have a great time on our country and enjoy every minute. Cheers...
@@RetireandGo We usually drink maté, coffee or tea for breakfast and eat cookies, biscochitos or pastries. I think breakfast is lighter than in the uSA. We eat meat, empanadas, pasta, etc.. for lunch or dinner. Anyways, you are free to eat whatever you want anytime of the day
Not sure how you showed up in my feed but glad you did. I’m currently in Buenos Aires having traveled from Colombia by motorbike all the way to Ushuaia and now I’m on my return leg. I agree with everything you said about Argentina and I’ve travelled pretty much all of this beautiful country, I absolutely love it here. I’ll stop by Che Malbec tonight and have a glass of wine and tell them I saw your RU-vid channel. Cheers!
Super cool. I shipped a KLR650 to Chile from the US a few years back. Rode 2-up through Chile and Argentina, then solo through Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador. I still haven't made it to your beautiul country of Colombia. Also enjoy the wine in the Mendoza area and Salta as you head north. Have a great journey and be careful of the Peruvian bus drivers!
Thanks for the look! I had considered Buenos Aires as a retirement destination a couple of years ago, and some negative ex-pat vlogs caused me to take it off my list, but with your vlog and a new and novel Argentinean president I'm going to seriously reconsider it.
I’m a new sub of yours. You’re in (or were) in Buenos Aires! I just might call that amazing place home one day. Currently living in So. Cal. Cheers, JM
The price of food in Buenos Aires is incredible right now Please please go in 2024 Even for a few weeks You can live there cheap! Hop over to Chile any time you like to reset the visa
@@RetireandGo A great suggestion. I currently have a ticket to visit Angeles City, PI in November; however, that can be changed to Argentina. Last year was Portugal. I punch out of the grind in 2028. I share your Philosophy of Travel (POT). I’ve been blessed having lived and traveled to other continents. My mouth was watering watching you eat that steak 🥩. I bet you heard me from Garden Grove “Come on Man, you’re killing me!” Hahaha. A tad envious. Anyway, bully for you! Enjoy the fruits of your labor and as always, safe travels. JM
If you like the arquitecture, there're some real interesting art-deco, art-noveau, Italian and French influenced exponents in Buenos Aires. Kavanagh Building, Barolo Palace, Confitería el Molino, the Congress Palace, San Martin Palace, the French Embassy, SAFICO building, COMEGA building and many more. For me is a pleasure to look up and see such a beautiful pieces of art.
$4 for a glass of wine in a restaurant?! I heard entire bottles of quality wine can be purchased from $2-$5 in Argentina. But hey restaurants always have huge mark ups. Argentina has been on my bucket list for a long time especially since you get the "Blue Dollar" Conversion Rate making you have double the money
I'm glad You passed good Moments there in Buenos Aires but the true reality of the economy You must notice when You go to all that beautiful places and they are allá empty. An argentinian must have $ 1.200 to Buy 1 dollar, that shows You how Bad is the economy ! Greatings Milton from Rosario Argentina 🍷😉♥️💕🤙✌️ !!!!!
It one of the spots on list for this year Have been doing ok with the 2 tier exchange rate system? I know the Gov rate is about half what you can get by virious means. Keep up the great videos I love them Mahalo
Great video. First time visitor to your channel, fellow vlogger. I really need to visit Argentina... although I can't rat meat like that. Well done for me please. Subbed.
Greetings from mar del plata argentina 😊..
Thanks for the video. Are you able to drink the water and brush your teeth with water? Fresh salad looks great - no problems eating greens washed at restaurant?
I would very much be interested in your opinions of South East Asia and all of the countries you've been to compared to Latin American countries and where you can see your self long term?
@@RetireandGo Need to be very ''thrifty'' & Thailand requires big bucks to avoid visa runs -- so how about Siem Reap & then hop to Thailand & Malaysia - instead ? (Love that city.) = $1500 is my squeeze - so - half of that when in SR - AND consequently less 'hops' ?!?
Always been infatuated with it there - love beef too - but lousy with the Spanish ! -- Not enough English is my concern. And to get a legal retirement visa from the US - I hear is crazy expensive ! They appear to want USD but not us people for very long. = $ only and get the hell out is the impression I get ? - - - That's all very nice - 'for them' ! -- Price of steak dinner w/wine ??? 🤔
I enjoyed your video. Having first visited BA in 1992, I love seeing videos of the city. However let me point out a few things: 1) Argentina has one of the worse inflation rates in the world. That is why everything seems is so cheap for someone with dollars. You cannot state that everything is so cheap, without considering this. The population who is not well off is suffering tremendously. The average wage is $100 a month! This is due to more than 20 years of terrible socialist governments which have destroyed the economy. Add to this that Argentina is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. They have now elected a totally different government and that will eventually change things 2) Things may look nice in the city of Buenos Aires (CABA) the autonomous city of BA, but go out to the province of BA (PABA), which is separate from the city and you will find insecurity, poverty and all of the worse conditions anywhere. Don’t be fooled by what you see in the city. 3) You mentioned that everyone is fit. Yes that is what happens if you can eat the best beef in the world. Just leave out the fries and the bread. However you will find many overweight people in the poor neighborhoods, because all they can eat is polenta and cheap pasta. 4) Definitely, BA is one of those cities where you can just enjoy looking at the architecture. The culture, food and wine is to be cherished. Just be aware that things are not as they seem in the nice areas. The problems of Argentina are deep and will take a long time to recover, but it seems like they will. Right now things are worse, because the change to get better will take some time. I do hope they do because for a long time, my favorite retirement location has been BA and Argentina. Do not limit yourself to the city. This is an incredible large country, the eighth largest in the world in land mass.
Tendría que visitar los suburbios de nueva York 😮😅😅😅😅... very very poor people in USA .. ON NO ??...wolfgangkruger ?.😮.. greetings from mar del plata argentina
